3841  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: VirtualMiner 2.0 - Mothlabs vASICs have finally arrived! on: July 21, 2012, 06:04:35 PM
1 Earnie is worth infinite moneys.

Anyway, Nacht sorry I had forgotten about VM, but you know I'v been here since day 1, and plan on staying. My first question is, what are shares? I went to the exchange and found that, and was a bit confused. Second, is the option to trade virtually mined coins for an in game currency in progress?
3842  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: ButterFried Labs introduces a new line of chips for miners! on: July 21, 2012, 04:10:03 PM
Our lead time should be around 50 days instead of 55, just kidding, it takes but 10-15 minutes to make chips the right way. There will be lots of pictures uploaded as soon as we start our testing (waiting for Mush to get here), and hopefully we can get people interested. As soon as we start the project, and upgrade our equipment a bit more, we will be talking to local grocery stores, and seeing if we can start the ButterFried Labs Chips awareness to the general public. It should also do something for Bitcoin awareness, as many people don't understand the concept of Bitcoins, but they sure do understand potato chips.

If you have a few bitcoins lying around, and don't know what to do with them, you could always send a donation to help aid development, or upgrade our equipment, Grin keep in mind, at current bitcoin prices, even .05 BTC helps us get testing some new flavors. And if there is a type of chip you are looking for, any flavor that you think others would like, or just a type that you would like to have, please suggest it, and we will attempt it if it sounds appetizing in the least bit, make it if it is doable, and make sure we send the person who came up with the flavor a thank you.

If you would like to donate to the cause of helping Bitcoiners get a Bitcoin sponsored snack, An updated BTC donation address will be added is the address to donate to. The smallest donation helps, thanks.

Name changed to ButterFried Labs, as we have said, we will test out many chips, with and without a buttery taste to make sure nothing that we sell is disgusting, or if its going to be disgusting, we will give you warning.

*Edit*

Ok well, we will be using Peanut Oil, a very delicious and high quality oil, don't fret, those with Peanut Allergies can still eat foods cooked in Peanut Oil. It has great benefits, as it is considered one of the healthier oils, and is second in taste only to Lard.

If you would like some additional info

 http://www.peanut-institute.org/peanut-products/peanut-oil.asp

As for potatoes, we will be using quality potatoes purchased directly from the local grocery store, so there will be no huge trucks full of potatoes that are dumped and used without inspection, we will be hand cutting each one, so if we wouldn't eat it, you sure as hell will not be eating it. Rest assured these chips will be of the finest quality.

As soon as we start taste testing, I will be able to get a better idea of the cost, and can set a price per bag.

Ok guys, I'm doing the cost analysis right now, to see how much it would cost to make them, and then an estimate of what we will charge per bag. I'll post what I think the price should end up at in a few minutes.

Mining Rig Melted Cheese
lol, I love this one.

And you never know, we could actually melt the cheese with a mining rig!
3847  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BuddyChips *Name undecided* on: July 20, 2012, 09:59:16 PM
Yeah, if you have any flavor suggestions, feel free to list them. We will see what we can do about creating them. Do keep in mind though, some flavors that are used by the large companies are chemically created, as in they have chemical engineers invent different flavors that they add to their food, we will not be doing this.

Something on the lines of BBQ, doable, as we can find a mixture of BBQ spices that will create a suitable BBQ taste, Pickle flavored, also doable, something like taco, or whatever other odd flavors Doritos come in, may or may not work, so you can suggest them, but we may or may not be able to make them.
3848  Bitcoin / Project Development / BetterFried Labs introduces a new line of chips for miners! on: July 20, 2012, 09:34:26 PM
As of now, my partner Mush and I are undecided upon the name of our newest project, but this is what we are thinking so far, and I would appreciate feedback if you guys can think of any comments or questions.

What it is: ButterFried Chips   (if there is no butter involved the name will be changed, we may say screw healthy and go for orgasmic taste, or keep great taste and go for moderately healthy)

ButterFried Chips, or whatever we decide to name them will be a new homemade potato chip snack with a twist.

Before we get to the twist, they will be a delicious hand cut Potato Chip, cooked with quality ingredients, with no unnatural seasonings or preservatives, and because of that, they will be much more healthy then store bought chips, while being more delectable.

After getting over the fact they will be delicious in themselves, we get to the twist. Inside each bag there will be a chance of receiving a special purposely shaped chip that will be sealed and slightly separated from the rest of the chips which can be collected or eaten if you so decide. Each "special" chip will be issued in sets, and marked, for example one set that we are thinking of releasing as a 1st edition promo over the Bitcoin forums would be bitcoin shaped, and marked 1/50, 2/50, ... 49/50, 50/50. Each bag that comes with one of these special chips would come with a certificate of authenticity (we have some security measures planned to insure that the chips you have are legitimate)

Now, before you think to yourself, this is stupid, why would anyone want this? First think, you have all heard those stories of Cheetos that look like Jesus selling on Ebay for thousands of dollars. Second, put the special chip aside, they will be a delicious chip in themselves, and the best part, if you don't care you can eat the special chip and make them that much rarer, helping out those that want to collect, and as it will be no different than the others besides its shape and markings. If you are in it for the special collector chip, a limited amount will be produced, and you will know exactly how many there are, and which one you have, as well as your certificate to prove that you have the real deal. Also take into count, certain foods have a fan base, for example rare kinder egg toys can go for hundreds, even thousands of dollars!

Varieties: We have a few varieties planed as of now, but if people are looking for special flavors in particular, we will see if we can create the correct taste.

We will be doing feasibility, taste tests, etc in the next couple of days to make sure we can use the best quality materials, at a reasonable price.

And the icing on the cake, should we get good feedback on our chips, and find that people appreciate the idea, we will attempt to get them marketed to local grocery stores, and eventually sold at every location that sells Lays. So you never know, hold onto those special promo chips that we will be releasing in our first batches, because they could be worth big money one day, and if not, well eat them, they are good!

we will keep you updated as we finalize details, and create the perfect tastes.

Not that its much of a problem for the most part, but melting pennies for their scrap value is illegal. The main problem is the cost, if you ship $50 worth of pennies, it will cost you $200 for shipping. Your 151 pennies, worth $3 approximately will cost at the very minimum $5 to ship.

Grix PMed. Nacht, I don't believe I will be getting any more gems in after these, but if you are looking, pm TipTopGemdotcom, Dave is a professional gem dealer, and a straight shooter. If he doesn't have any amber, he will keep an eye out for one.
