Hello BitGrinder!

I apologize for the delay, I finally have my home office setup. Moving is always a pain.

Thank you for the donation and helping to get the block explorer back online!

As promised, here is the source code to the desktop version of Bytecent: https://gitlab.com/Komcore/Bytecent

I can remove/update the links...etc in the wallet, but it will take a few days. Newborn baby, new apartment, and a bunch of unpacked boxes, but I will find time to do it. Also, the source is public now so anyone can make updates as well.

FYI: POB will no longer work now that the wallet is open source.

Best,
Christopher

Hello everyone!

Here is the source to the wallet we give to exchanges: https://gitlab.com/Komcore/Bytecent-Lite/

In a few days I will also make public the source for the wallet we distribute to the public. I just moved to a new apartment and we are still unpacking. I will upload the code from my local machine to the respository soon.

Best,
Christopher

Hello BitGrinder,

Thank you for the donation! Although we didn't reach our goal, I will make the source code public in a few days and the community will be responsible for the project moving forward. You guys can contact Chainz directly to get the blockchain hosted again.

Best,
Christopher

I dropped .068256 BTC on Tally.

only .026114 BTC to go.

Is there anything we can do to get the Chainz explorer reactivated?

website is down, hosting for blockchain explorer expired, is all completely over?

The website is up. However, I asked if the community wanted to make Bytecent open source and only a handful of community members bothered to respond. If only a few people are interested in the future of Bytecent, there isn't much that can be done without community support.

Hi everyone,

What do you guys want me to do? I haven't heard any public feedback, so I would like to know how would you guys like to see the project move forward?

Best,
Christopher

Hi,

If he wants to post his thoughts publicly I am all for it. Also, I spoke to several other community members to get their feedback as well.

As for your last question, I honestly don't know. I set the goal fairly low, but I am open to suggestions.

Best,
Christopher

Hello everyone,

Over the past week I have consulted with several longtime community members to get their opinions on the future of Bytecent. As I explained several weeks ago, I have been in talks with another company interested in acquiring Bytecent. However, a community member contacted me asking if I would make Bytecent open source. The community member convinced me that if Bytecent is to get accepted on other exchanges, and allow other community members to push the project forward, it will need to be open source. We tried the closed source approach, and it’s clearly not working. Making Bytecent open source would end any prospective deal with the company. I discussed making Bytecent open source with them, and at first they were open to the idea, but then they changed their mind. The problem is, when I started Bytecent I had agreements with people who helped get the project started and I just can’t make it open source.

If the community can raise 0.7944 BTC, I will immediately make the source code public and handover the project to the community.

Christopher,
Any progress updates for the community?

Thanks

Hi BitGrinder,

There are some sticking points we are working through. After nearly 5 years I want to make sure Bytecent continues to move forward. We don't agree on some points but hopefully I will have some good news soon.

Best,
Christopher

Site is back.  Wallet link is still 404.
FYI

I will fix it before Noon EST. I am not getting notifications from the forum, someone had to send me a message on Skype.

Best,
Christopher

Added some buy support today..

Hope your talks are going well Christopher.

Thank you Grinder and the talks are going well. I brought up the community member who wants to make Bytecent open source and they are actually open to the idea.

Best,
Christopher

Christopher,
Do you have a road map for your social rewards network implementation?

Thanks for all your efforts!

Hi,

I am actually in talks with another company interested in taking over the project.

Christopher

Hello everyone,

Buy support on Stex is very low. Can you guys please put some support so our market isn't closed? https://app.stex.com/en/basic-trade/pair/BTC/BYC

Best,
Christopher

"Our programmers create better product that will be very convenient for your use and increase your income from our STEX"

Made me giggle a little when i read it this morning.

Does anyone know how long it's been offline?

PS..
The KYC "April Fools" banner is a hoot!!
Nice work guys!  LOL

Not sure how long it will be but I agree the KYC banner is funny.

Happy to contact about new exchanges but the link provided for bittrex said only the dev himself could submit.  Can you give us some insight on how to request they add to bittrex (or others)?  Seems they dont want to hear from us unless we are the official dev.

Bittrex is all about demand. Go to their Slack channel and voice your concerns.

Threw fifty bucks on the STEX bid... any update on the launch?  Still on schedule for ~2 weeks from now?

Hi, thank you for adding some BTC for buy support. Unfortunately no, we are a few weeks behind. While you guys wait we need to start pushing to get listed on another exchange. Stex has been great, but we have to start getting listed on more exchanges.

Best,
Christopher

Thanks for your efforts Christopher.

PS..
Please reach out to Bittrex for their requirements to return to the exchange..

Thanks again!

Hi BitGrinder,

I believe it will be more effective if members of our community reach out to Bittrex and ask them if we can be listed again. If they see there is demand they will be more inclined to do it.

Best,
Christopher

Hi guys,

I still haven't heard anything from YoBit and the other exchange that was suggested has really low volume. Do you guys have an exchange you would like me to contact? Also, I will put together another list of exchanges we can pay to get listed on.

Best,
Christopher

I know were a long way from the necessary volume, but..
For future knowledge..

What would it take to return to Bittrex?

To be 100% honest, I don't know. There is no rhyme or reason to why Bittrex list or delist markets. Bytecent was listed on Bittrex since 2014, and then 4 years later out of the blue they decided to delist us. Our volume was always sporadic, but we always had healthy buy support.

Best,
Christopher
