1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FIND] FindCoin | Community Anti-Scam Token | Faucet Distribution on: January 30, 2015, 07:56:44 AM
Fortunatly i diddnt swap my findyoucoins (price increased 4x), but where can I dump Find, and why was it removed from Cryptopia?

you can "dump" your coins here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=908464.0

Decision to remove from Cryptopia was made by both us and Cryptopia since listing there doesn't benefit neither them nor us. We'll re-list there later.

But until now i can't get anything confirmation
Maybe i'm late or wrong?

Nope, you are not late or wrong, it's just since 15/01/2015 it takes more time (up to 7-10 days) to exchange coins - we've announced it in OP.

I'll send all coins, pending for exchange, in next 2-3 hours; you'll get the notifications via e-mail you've provided.

Check e1ghtSpace's recent posts and you will see how he/she is abusing the trust system and has maliciously editted posts so that warnings about Spreadcoin go unheard.

Will the FindCoin community use similar censor and silence techniques when the time comes to deal with the naysayers ?

Check this thread - and Pre-ann one to see that all naysayers' posts are still there. We didn't delete/edit any of it.

As for e1ghtSpace's "malicious" activity - you can address all accusations to him personally or in any other new or related thread; here we discuss FindCoin, not SpreadCoin or e1ghtSpace  Smiley

Is there a need of standalone forum, really? Bitcointalk can provide more user coverage.

Bitcointalk was not working last week; of course, we don't want to replace bitcointalk as our communicating channel, but it's good to have an additional and reserve one  Smiley

For everyone who's been asking me about "When will FindCoin be listed on Poloniex/Bittrex/C-cex?" - just want to remind you:

The less active our community is, the less chances we have to be listed on good exchanges.

We've created polls system - and got only 60 registrations and only 1 nomination.
We've opened our forum - and get only 2 registrations.

Come on, guys! Be active! You all saying a lot of great encouraging words to us (and thank you for that!), but you don't even bother yourself to register on our forum or on our polls site  Sad

wow nice work Denkoma.
Are those back and front of same coin or we should vote on which one we prefer  Grin

Yep, it's heads and tails of same coin  Grin

I've figured I'd use axe and hammer as our symbols, since you can build something good with it, but they also can be used as great tools for punishment  Grin Grin Grin

Not pixel-perfect, but - how about such kind of coin design?   Grin

Sorry for dumb question....but: what's the safest way  to update my wallet without risking to lose the coins I have in it?

You just run the new wallet version instead of old one; your coins are in your wallet.dat, and it's not affected by wallet versions (stored in different place).
Without having to manually delete any file or folder?

Yes, you don't need to delete anything; just run new wallet from any folder where you have downloaded it.

If you still feel unsafe - just backup your wallet.dat from your User\AppData\Roaming\FindCoin folder and run new client  Wink

Glad to see that findcoin devs are getting busy with the plans ahead. Pls post the twitter for findcoin here and we will help out in the distributing about the coin.

@FindCoinz is the official twitter profile. We should get busy tweeting about Findcoin.

Nope, it is not  Smiley we don't have access to that account for now.

Ok, guys, our forum is up and running!

Hi guys

Sorry for keeping silence for this week, been stuck with my dayjob  Undecided

I'm here now, we are all here, and I hope you all like Quadmium's new client version Wink

I'll try to make up for my unexpected leave of absence, got some great new things boiling for FindCoin (well, on promo part for sure)

By the way, as far as I can tell, there was not so much enthusiasm about our polls. What's your ideas - how can we promote it better?
What should be done to promote polls, or our Proof of Identity, or any other FindCoin service (if they should be promoted at all)?

I'm asking because 01/02/2015 is coming, and we don't want to create something if even with current FindCoin community all we get is "meh".

Come on, guys, take your part! It's you who can help us shape the FindCoin to your needs and goals.

My todo for tonight:

1) Open "official" FindCoin Twitter and Facebook accounts;
2) Open standalone forum on findcoin.info (heard there was some problems with Bitcointalk, don't want to lose contacts to you all);
3) Start FindCoins giveaway campaign (coins for retweet/repost).

Once again - I'm sorry for not being here for a while  Smiley

GUYS, HERE'S THE ANNOUNCEMENT ON NEW FEATURES OF FINDCOIN

Finally, we've started working on FindCoin client 2.0.

And the first question we would like to vote upon is - should we have lucky POS blocks?

Please vote on that here: http://polls.findcoin.info/eMfH4

For those who don't know the concept: it's when you are staking and finding valid blocks, some blocks you've found could be considered as "lucky", paying out not 25% PoS, but, 5-10 times more (we will vote on specs later, if community will agree we need such reward mechanism).

And, of course, with new client we'll fix the bugs, add IRC and some other stuff we prefer not talk about right now  Wink

GUYS, HERE'S THE ANNOUNCEMENT ON CRYPTOPIA LISTING/DELISTING

I've contacted the Cryptopia admin sa_ddam213, and we've agreed that delisting FindCoin is the most reasonable option.

1. No trade volumes for us, no volumes for Cryptopia - so, what's the point of listing? We did not intend to be listed at any price by as much exchanges as possible, and Cryptopia's business model is not "list as much coins as possible", but "provide more valuable services" - we've discussed that a bit, I believe in guys, and waiting for great announcements from them  Smiley They are in the same newcomer's position as we are, so I know how hard it is to maintain strong vision for your project and not disperse it.

2. So, both Cryptopia and FindCoin dev team agree that FindCoin listing on Cryptopia does not mutually benefit us the way it should. The listing was premature, and FindCoin will be listed back on Cryptopia later, when it will be more reasonable for both parties.

3. Shnici - he is part of our Dev team too - was acting and contacting Cryptopia to list FindCoin because me and e1ghtSpace have agreed upon listing because earlier that day some guy had already got FindCoin listed on YoBit without our consent. If we could delist FindCoin from YoBit, there will be no Cryptopia listing, but YoBit admin refused to do so; so we have thought - let's try and list on Cryptopia, community should have a choice, and two options is better than one. That didn't turned out as good as we thought  Smiley

So, resume:

We've been delisted from Cryptopia, but will be listed again when the time will be right (no hard feelings for both parties).

I'll update the OP and info on site soon, don't be confused  Smiley

Delisting and not bringing FindCoin to any exchange are not the way to develop it. I suggest some ways to attract more people to the coin:
- Dev should be more active.
- Create a forum when people can talk about Find and any other crypto. You can use the bounty to attract people writing on the forum.
- Contact blog owners and suggest them to write articles about Find.

Guys, not talking about last couple days, but - do you really think I was not active past 2 weeks?  Embarrassed How much MORE active do you need? And what activities in particular do you think of?

As I've said in unofficial trading thread, this post-holidays week is a bit hard for me, a lot of offline business to take care of. Starting this weekend I'll spend more time with the community, start social media accounts & stuff, send out newsletter (~400 subscribers from findcoin.info), maybe there will be little twitter/FB repost giveaway campaing or start of hodling game (or maybe not, we'll see  Wink )

Btw, all pending exchange requests are processed.

700 satoshi is little bit overpriced!

What would you price this coin at out  of interest? I have 50k for sale and if the price is right i will accept of course  Smiley POST is for anyone with serious offers! escrow accepted

Dev keeps silence, that's why there is no interest. Smiley

Dev is waiting for all you to dump your coins so he can buy himself more for cheap price  Grin and then announce the new wallet client with a lot of fancy features  Tongue

I you're not kidding I am very sad about your coin's future...
But that was a joke I guess.  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

well....  Roll Eyes  Grin Grin Grin

The thing is the holidays are over, and there's a lot of offline non-FindCoin related stuff piled up for me... I'm here, and I'm working on coin's stuff - just not as much as earlier. This after-holidays offline craziness will end in 3-5 days, and I'll be 100% devoted to FindCoin then  Wink

the old FindYouCoin network became extremely slow. No new block generated in the last hour to confirm my transaction to the Burn wallet. Hope I will get at least one block before January 15th, when the swap processing will slow down.

Here I come to help you  Wink Did you get your confirmations now?

I'd like to keep my FindYou wallet running all the time, but (blame the old dev) it keeps crashing...  Embarrassed

FinfYouCoin -> FindCoin exchange still going on?

Yes, it will go on in "we process exchange orders in 24h or less" mode until 15/01/15. After that it will take several days to exchange, and after that, if we don't have more new exchange requests in like one week - I think we should close it and burn the rest of the coins (or add them to bounties - we all will vote on that).

This is one of the best thing what happened to Find. Now find will have value and more and more people will be involved in bounties through investigation.
Do you really think that? with 192.34398244 FindCoin total volume it looks even worse than YoBit. If we really want to trade this coin we need an exchange with more decent volume than these two combined. Now the question is whether we really need the exchange already at this point? Maybe it is a better idea to wait until more services are developed and community grows a bit. For now this coin has hardly anything more to offer than that is another new coin.
Just my 2FC

Yep, we still have nothing to offer  Smiley What we are doing here is so insignificant, that you can actually sell FindYou coins on c-cex for more btc than FindCoins on YoBit (19-21 sat FindYou buy on c-cex vs. 185 FindCoin buy on YoBit) - I guess FindYou coin is just better than FindCoin, right?  Undecided

hi
i did the step for change findyou in find
i received an email with an adress
but when i type: dumpprivkey (with this adress)
i have: Private key for address (the adress i received) is not known (code -4)

anyone have a solution

thanks

Hi

Here's the exact method with dumpprivkey:

1) Open your FindYouCoin client, and head to help -> debug.
2) Choose the console tab and type "dumpprivkey <insert address we sent you here>", then press enter.
3) Copy the output and close the FindYouCoin client.
4) Open your FindCoin client.
5) Open console and type "importprivkey <paste what you copied in step 3 here> Trade", then press enter.
7) You will now have your coins.

So, are you sure you've tried to type dumpprivkey in FindYouCoin wallet? Maybe you did it in FindCoin wallet?

I'm terribly sorry  Embarrassed, that was my mistake. Nothing wrong happened, your coins are not lost, and nobody besides you can have access to your FindCoins - it's just that I've e-mailed you the wrong address. Please check your e-mail, now I've sent you the right one.

Once again, I'm sorry and thank you for you patience  Smiley
