Supposedly some hedgefunds on OKcoin jumped in for 3 Billion. Not sure if true but they made the post themselves.

I doubt that's it.

Markets move on technicals, not good news.

If that were true, everyone would be rich  Wink   what TA predicted this rally?
I cant imagine its the OKcoin thing, and also tech analysis i cant see such a demand.
I can imagine that there are insider news only a few have acess and started to drive the market.
As soon as there is a movement for all notible they jump in and put fuel into the fire.

OKCoin just said they had a new client worth $3 Billion, that's what their other investments (stocks, etc) are worth. That doesn't mean they were going to drop $3B on the market. That news may have fueled the fire a bit, but I can't imagine it being the sole cause either.

But that's what I don't understand, why do you see the need to tell me that this "isn't likely to go anywhere"?
What do you win by saying that?
To my ears that's like noise.

I for one see a lot of potential and business opportunity in the crypto world.

I agree, there is a lot of potential. I'm not even saying your work isn't or wouldn't be worth what you're asking. 150 DRK per month for a daily animated cartoon like that is cool. And you're free to ask if anyone is interested in that arrangement. The comments are just observations on the situation. When the potential 'bosses' you are asking a salary from are all doing volunteer work themselves, it's like asking a homeless man if he has any spare change so you can buy a coffee.

I just made a proposal.
It's tungfa who laughed at my proposal by saying "remember everybody is working for free here !"...  Grin which I find hilarious, because not only have I done tons of stuff for free before (not expecting anything) but my proposal was deliberately VERY down to earth. I deliberately did it so as to NOT provoke the exact reaction I got out of some people here. But it still happened. That's truly hilarious to me.
I am not pissed or anything, it's just a little unexpected.

Let me just say this: I can make any proposals or offers I like, it's none of anybodies business to tell me that I rather shouldn't be doing that.

Because that doesn't make any sense to me.

Kai made a good point, it's all in the wording. Of course you are free to make any proposals you like, but by the same token others are also free to comment on those proposals. I wasn't saying you couldn't or shouldn't make the proposal. I was just saying that most of the dev community does the work they do for free already, so asking a salary from people who aren't getting paid themselves isn't likely to go anywhere.

So I was thinking about starting a cartoon to celebrate evan's achievements:

A proposal:
Is the community/foundation willing to pay me a monthly amount of DRK (I don't know, 150 DRK or something) so I can allocate some time every day and create a daily cartoon?
I could create hilarious confrontations between darkcoin and other coins, etc...  Grin
Let me know your thoughts.

great cartoon
but man
150 DRK a month from the foundation !!!
hahaaa sorry I have to laught !
remember everybody is working for free here !
we love cartoons but do you really think they will put you on a monthly salary to keep the spirit up !?
think about it ....>>>

Yeah.. Cool cartoon and idea, but if you're holding DRK and you think the cartoons will help that much, then it's in your best interest to just do them anyway. I'm sure people will kick some DRK your way in donations if they're good, but expecting a salary from people that mostly work for free is a stretch.

I simply can't get my head around why Evan worded the "Darksend - Security Bulletin " the way he did.
Why why why??

Because it's honest?

I'm talking about being conservative with the truth, as opposed to the complete opposite.
It could have been spun any number of ways. I would have gone for "exhaustive thoroughness in the interests of security".

He's not sugar coating : PoH, proof of honesty  Cheesy

I'd rather have honesty than sugar coated BS. If there's an issue, say what it is in plain English and what the plan is to fix it. Issues happen, how they are handled says a lot. We get spoon-fed enough sugar coated news from the government and mainstream media. It's refreshing to have someone be completely transparent.

ok guys I've done a terrible mistake.
I changed my drk passphrase using a pass generat but misclicked and didnt note it.
Now there are 1000DRK stucked in my wallet and I don't know how to unlock them.
I have some wallet.dat backup, can I recover my DRKs?

I did something similar last week, though not near as much DRK at stake. The previously backed up wallet.dat files will have your previous passphrase encrypting them. As long as the address is in the backed up wallet, just restore it (overwrite the new wallet.dat in C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\DarkCoin\ with the backup) and you should be good to go.
