For those who have an RPi / NAS or any embedded devices running Linux, there's a guide here on how to compile a headless wallet app so you can stake on your RPi / NAS / etc. It's made for Pandacoin but the same instructions work with one additional step to be performed in step 4 before running "make -f makefile.unix": mkdir obj mkdir obj/zerocoin chmod 755 leveldb/build_detect_platform

FYI I got my MAPCs now transferred to C-Cex. Thanks a lot thimo! : Still buying what I can
|
|
|
I can also confirm that I have just completed a deposit of those coins back into the exchange where I made the withdrawal.
Still doesn't work for me My MAPCs are still showing as unconfirmed, my wallet address still shows 0 on the blockchain and the transaction id still cannot be found on the blockchain. Again these are the coins I transferred to my wallet before the blockchain was reset OK, I don't know. Could you backup your wallet. and delete the old QT and start fresh with out losing your coin? yea try this, it works fine here too That's what I've been doing all this while. Did you two have the same scenario as me? You had coins in your wallet address before the blockchain was reset?

Edit: My wallet is synced and receiving transactions just fine How long did you leave it open? Were your MAPCs also Unconfirmed initially and are no showing as spendable?

Added to OP. Works perfect. Thanks a lot for this! Are the sources used to build this already checked-in to github? its from github yes, its 100% safe! Hi thimo, Thanks for the reply. I wasn't questioning it's safety I want to know if the sources in github is already updated with the patch because I want to build it as I use the headless version. Anyway I started using the Windows QT app and it finished syncing after a few hours. My MAPCs are still showing as unconfirmed so I just left it running, I'm assuming it will sync my transaction eventually. I will check again tonight when I reach home. Thanks again to you and mapcoindev My MAPCs are still showing as unconfirmed after 24hrs. MD5 of the MAPCOIN-qt.exe is A602CCAE5602CD7E74800C0D9FB5D927

Hi thimo, mapcoindev, My wallet finally syncd but all my MAPCs are showing as unconfirmed. These are the coins I bought during the ICO, transferred from C-Cex to my wallet on 31-Aug to start staking. I closed my wallet on 5-Sep when you guys said that you will be restarting the chain, that time my MAPCs were showing as spendable. When mapcoindev posted the updated sources here I downloaded the source and built MAPCOINd again, created a backup of my wallet (main wallet) and deleted everything from my datadir. I posted here that it doesn't seem to be syncing and mapcoindev promptly pointed out that the wallet syncs only when a new block is found and that the network is slow so just keep it open. So I continued to wait for it to sync but it still wouldn't. Eventually I downloaded the Windows QT wallet software posted by mapcoindev and tried it out. It did sync eventually but my MAPCs, as I mentioned above, are showing as unconfirmed. My wallet address shows as 0.00 balance on the blockchain and the transaction id provided by C-Cex cannot be found on the blockchain. Looking forward to your reply. it will sync, its because 90% coins are on exchanges due to this huge price raising so PoS is slow. give it some time MAPC is really having great price raise Thanks but do I have to keep the wallet software running? I'm using the Windows software now and eventually I need to shutdown my PC Hi again, How long should it take to sync my transactions into the blockchain? It's been more than 24hrs. Also what happened to MAPC today?

Wallet sybcs when new block is found. Network is slow because most peopel hold coins on exchanges. Keep it open and wait for new block.
Hi, Running for 9hrs now, a number of blocks have been found during the last 9hrs according to this https://chainz.cryptoid.info/mapc/ but still no blocks have been sycnd: Corinthian~/mapcoin# MAPCOINd -conf=/home/foobar/mapcoin/MAPCOIN.conf -datadir=/home/foobar/mapcoin/data getinfo { "version" : "v1.0.0.0", "protocolversion" : 60013, "walletversion" : 60000, "balance" : 0.00000000, "newmint" : 0.00000000, "stake" : 0.00000000, "blocks" : 0, "timeoffset" : 0, "moneysupply" : 0.00000000, "connections" : 0, "proxy" : "", "ip" : "0.0.0.0", "difficulty" : { "proof-of-work" : 0.00024414, "proof-of-stake" : 0.00024414 }, "testnet" : false, "keypoololdest" : 1441849295, "keypoolsize" : 101, "paytxfee" : 0.00001000, "mininput" : 0.00000000, "errors" : "" }

C-CEX IS ON RIGHT CHAIN NOW
We had to fully restart the chain, but all balances are secure.
Hi, I'm running a headless build on my ARM devkit and it doesn't seem to be syncing. I downloaded again from github after your post. The old version was syncing fine before the blockchain was reset but now even that old build doesn't sync. I have deleted everything from my datadir and using the configuration provided here. My debug log is hereCorinthian~/mapcoin# cat MAPCOIN.conf server=1 daemon=1 listen=1 maxconnections=1024 rpcuser=user rpcpassword=pass rpcport=25213 addnode=104.236.105.49 addnode=178.62.126.32 addnode=95.85.39.251 Corinthian~/mapcoin# MAPCOINd -conf=/home/foobar/mapcoin/MAPCOIN.conf -datadir=/home/foobar/mapcoin/data getinfo { "version" : "v1.0.0.0", "protocolversion" : 60013, "walletversion" : 60000, "balance" : 0.00000000, "newmint" : 0.00000000, "stake" : 0.00000000, "blocks" : 0, "timeoffset" : 0, "moneysupply" : 0.00000000, "connections" : 0, "proxy" : "", "ip" : "0.0.0.0", "difficulty" : { "proof-of-work" : 0.00024414, "proof-of-stake" : 0.00024414 }, "testnet" : false, "keypoololdest" : 1441849295, "keypoolsize" : 101, "paytxfee" : 0.00001000, "mininput" : 0.00000000, "errors" : "" } Corinthian~/mapcoin#

They are still working, they just don't have breaking news to share atm. The last release was about 10 days ago, so what do you expect? You should visit the IRC channel sometimes, there's more activity than here. You can also ask the Devs personally there.
I personally wasn't expecting or demanding anything that the devs can't provide and I do acknowledge that they cannot be everywhere every time. And yes no news to report is natural at times, it would be unfair to expect that there is something new to report every time someone from the dev team posts something. I suppose I just wanted some form of confirmation that the devs are still there which no one has been able to provide until now. In any case I'm happy to know that everything is well. And yes I'm still buying. Cheers! EDIT: Oh and I did pop in to IRC yesterday and posted that question... didn't get a reply, or maybe I just didn't stick around long enough

For anyone else wanting to run pandacoind on their headless boxes, I put up a short guide on http://devrandom.serveblog.net. I still have PandaBank on my Windows machine but it now runs in Lite Mode since I don't turn it on that frequently. Thanks again mtrycz! That's great! Happy to see you actually got around to publishing it. Some minor nitpicks to make it perfect: * add how to encrypt a newly created wallet * state that the default dir for pandacoind is /home/user/.pandacoind - that's what's used when you don't supply a -datadir (and what I use for simplisity) * also, state how to alias the command with a shorthand * state that compiling on a Raspberry Pi could require setting additional swap; there are lots of guides for this * security consideration: I run pandacoind with a dedicated user, created just for this; it's a good idea to run every wallet with a different user to keep things separate. Also, don't run the wallet with the user you connect to with ssh. * maybe add an tl;dr at the end (setup script and commands recap) Cheers! Thanks for the feedback. I'll update the article

Hey! Happy that you were able to make it work. From the commandline you can use pandacoind getstakinginfo To see if the wallet was successfully unlocked for staking. Then you can pandacoind listtransactions To see your 10 latest transactions. The interest recieved from steak are in the "category": "generate" (but only after a number of confirmations (can't remember the exact number); until then they will be listed as "category": "immature") Happy staking Thanks a lot mtrycz! My Sheevaplug is staking happily

FYI I managed to get pandacoind up and running on the Sheevaplug. I downloaded and built v2.1.2 and that did the trick. I assume v3 was failing because it was starting in Hybrid mode by default and since I can't find an option in pandacoind to start in Classic mode I used v2.1.2 instead. It's downloading the blockchain now, I'll post an update once the download is complete and staking has started.
Hi all, pandacoind has finished syncing the blockchain. I can see my balance reflected correctly when I run "pandacoind -datadir=<foodir> getinfo" and have unlocked the wallet using the following command: ./pandacoind -datadir=<foodir> walletpassphrase <mypassphrase> 9999999 true
How do I know whether it's already staking? pandacoind getinfo shows: "balance" : mybalancehere, "newmint" : 0.00000000, "stake" : 0.00000000, "blocks" : 459246,
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for replying mtrycz. My NAS is slower than your Pi so I didn't continue with that. I compiled instead on my sheevaplug and managed to build it but I get "Pandacoin: Error loading blkindex.dat" when trying to start pandacoind This is in my debug.log ERROR: AddToBlockIndex() : Rejected by stake modifier checkpoint height=0, modifier=0x002c7ddc002c7ddc ERROR: LoadBlockIndex() : genesis block not accepted Pandacoin: Error loading blkindex.dat Flush(false) wallet.dat refcount=0 wallet.dat checkpoint wallet.dat detach wallet.dat closed DBFlush(false) ended 7ms StopNode() Flushed 0 addresses to peers.dat 3ms Flush(true) DBFlush(true) ended 0ms Pandacoin exited Sheevaplug is a devkit with 1.2Ghz ARM CPU and 512MB of RAM. I increased the swap from 1GB to 2GB but still no go. It has no GPU and FPU, could be because of that? Any ideas? FYI I managed to get pandacoind up and running on the Sheevaplug.
