Hi Steven Well done on producing SLG 1.7. It looks really good, and is behaving in a more stable fashion than its predecessor (at least on my setup). Another big step forward for the Sterlingcoin project, and that in very adverse circumstances! I take it that Exlly is brand new, as there is zero volume there at the minute?
We need to try and establish a proper market there somehow.

Really sorry to hear about your mother's ill-health. I hope that you and the rest of the family are managing to cope alright.
I've said it before, but it bears repeating; take your time over the fork to the new SLG. Personally, I would be more than happy for it to make an appearance sometime in the New Year.
Re exchanges, I must agree with you on that. It's better for SLG to be on as few as possible prior to the fork; it just makes for less hassle.
However, if people really feel the need for SLG to be on an exchange, may I recommend one that I used to use last year, but which subsequently closed down upon change of ownership, namely NovaExchange. This is still undergoing a re-furb, but is set to re-open its doors very soon, and will be accepting coin listing applications.

Today I discovered Sterlingcoin. I'll buy some and hope that the development continues  You do not need to hope, the development will continue, that's a fact!! Sterlingcoin is currently in the very capable hands of our Chief Developer, Mr Steven Saxton. He is already working on the next upgrade, which will result in the incorporation of masternode technology. Buy SLG now, while it is still dirt cheap. Make sure that you accumulate enough for your own masternode(s), before the time comes to set them up. It's not official, but the estimate at this time is that 10,000 SLG will be needed for a masternode. Dont miss out; this coin is really going places!!  Sterling Sentinel |

This was my first coin I bought back in 2014. Unfortunately, I don't have it anymore, but I will research it again when I catch some time. UK coin if I'm right?

No real news to report at this time, but I wanted to let you all know we are still here. Further experimentation and inspection of the mentioned code bases, PIVX, Crown, and Solaris, does continue. It is an enormous undertaking and 2 of the bases are continually evolving more, having much larger development teams. Hopefully some testnet results can be reported in the not-so-distant future. Sorry there is none to report yet.

Hi Steven, good to hear from you. Glad to hear that your researches are advancing. Don’t be at all concerned about the rate of progress; as you say, it’s an enormous undertaking. It may take you to Q3 or Q4 to complete this but, as Rhett Butler would say “Frankly, Scarlett, I don’t give a damn!”. A quality product takes precedence over early delivery, so TAKE YOUR TIME!!As you are doubtless aware the entire crypto market is deep in bear territory, and likely to be in slumber mode for the duration of 2018, so it’s not as though SLG is going to be ‘left behind’ in any meaningful sense. Time is on your side, Steven. Anyhoo, I hope you have an enjoyable Easter weekend; I’m sure you deserve a break!!

Hi Sterlincoiners,
Just wanted to provide a quick update to our otherwise currently silent thread. Due to personal matters beyond my control, the PIVX rebase is moving slower than was hoped. Rest assured, the work will continue as fast as possible and I do still remain hopeful for Q1. Apologizes for my recent absentee on Discord and Telegram, that too is because of the personal matter and a lack of consistent Internet connectivity because of it. I do plan for business as normal to return early this week.

Hi Steven Personally, I have absolutely no concerns about the pace of progress; I have total confidence in you to deliver this update in a reasonable time-frame and to the highest standard. I had already told myself it wouldn't happen until Q2 anyway, as it's such a huge undertaking, but if you can do it by end of Q1 then that's a bonus! As you specifically mentioned PIVX does that mean you have decided against the other options you were considering, Solaris, Crown etc? I have to admit this coin has one of the classiest developers and communities around. Rare thing in crypto nowadays Even though this project doesn't get much appreciation yet, it definitely deserves it, and it should get it in time. I smell some British nobility here, even if there is no (or little) pure Englishmen involved currently. Englishmen??  Och awa wi ye ya sassenach scunner! I've just checked block height and block hash again; my wallet and both explorers all agree, so the problem does seem to be resolved.

I just checked the block height (as I now routinely do!) and I noticed that there is a different figure on each of the two block explorers.
SLG in-house explorer gives block height of 869750, which agrees with my wallet.
chainz.info give a figure of 869666.
Can you explain the discrepancy?

I am pleased to announce, Sterlingcoin will be added to cryptoid.info in the near future. Whilst the holidays may cause a delay, we are on the waiting list for implementation on cryptoid.info's blockchain explorer services. A full year of the service was paid for.
The explorer at transactions.sterlingcoin.org will continue, also. This is not done to replace that explorer, but is a cost effective way to bolster our network a little, while giving Sterlingcoiners the added insight and features cryptoid.info's services will provide.
ETA: 1 month or shortly after the new year. Though, the prompt payment in-full may help.
Thanks for doing this, Steven. I'm a fan of cryptoid.info, it's easily the best multi-coin block explorer out there. And it's always a good idea to have two explorers anyway, in case either one has an issue and has to go offline for a while. @ Steven SaxtonYesterday I noticed that the SLG network seemed a bit odd. My usual number of connections is 17-20, but I was only getting 4-5, and my computer seemed to be labouring a bit. Also, my stake weight was incredibly high compared to the network stake weight. I checked the block explorer and, sure enough, the block height was different from that which was displayed on my wallet. I assumed that I had forked and was now on another chain, so I attempted to re-sync using the zip file supplied by your good self a few days ago. I synced fully in no time at all, without problems. I then checked the block height, which matched. Currently staking normally. My only concern is that, whilst on the other chain, I still managed to get 5 or so connections. Does this mean that other people are also forked?  Sterling Sentinel
