821  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do Not Panic! on: November 20, 2018, 08:54:43 AM
this price drop was a chinese dump

Can you please elaborate? What Chinese dump? Is there any news coverage about this? Maybe you have a link for us?

maybe he thinks Wright is Chinese since Jihan Wu is Chinese Cheesy

in any case this drop is only because of the bitcoin cash/SV crap that has been going on for a short while but has been building up for it from a couple of months ago by starting their FUDs a while back.

as for bitcoin being bullish this year, I don't think so anymore because a small drop below the support line was nothing but now that price has gone way lower to $4k there is no way to recover from it fast and it will take a very long time, possibly most of 2019 to recover.
822  Economy / Speculation / Re: CSW's "hash wars" impact on BTC price? on: November 20, 2018, 08:29:47 AM
And as far as Craig Wright being a billionaire, I really doubt it, he is the conman to play the role of the leader and Calvin Ayre is the the actual billionaire... if we are to believe that as well. A lot of trolls these days call themselves billionaire, like that Richard Heart guy, but they've got a couple million at best.

Craig recently said he moved $100 million worth of paper Gold internationally for under 25GBP in fees to point out that Gold transfers aren't expensive, which is crazy if you think about it. How delusional is this dude? Wealthy individuals are out to NOT make it seem like they are filthy rich, while those with a big mouth who don't have much are busy making themselves look like a billionaire. Tells you enough.

You know what rappers and social media stars do? Start up so called fake beefs to boost their popularity, which if you think about it, might be the case here as well. Roll Eyes

it seems like he is trying so hard to convince the world that he has enough money/power to crash the bitcoin price while pump the shitcoin he created (BSV) and the worst part of all of this is that the market is (for some weird reason) answering positively to his attempts of crashing bitcoin price!!!
823  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price dip a sign Institutional Investors are ready? on: November 20, 2018, 08:19:08 AM
interesting theory but this is not a new thing so I don't think any new entity is doing it. for years we have had whales in the market which we can all "opportunists" who have been performing things like what you explained: dumping enough to cause panic and break resistances then buy cheaper and accumulate. rinse and repeat to increase their size as a whale.
and right now with all the shitcoin fork drama that is going on over in the altcoin market bitcoin whales are taking that as an opportunity to do the same as they always do: buy cheaper coins.
824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is a victim on: November 20, 2018, 08:11:34 AM
to take control and to make more money!

this has been the only reason why bitcoin-cash forked last year. they fooled people by social media drama about scaling and core developers corruption while creating a centralized altcoin that could make them millions of dollars.
now there is internal fights between the creators since they want more money and more control while kicking the other party out. so they are splitting the forkcoin into two. and while they are fighting internally they try so hard to pull bitcoin down while they fall hand in hand.
825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Richard Heart on CSW being Satoshi on: November 20, 2018, 08:03:53 AM
why would we even need new arguments about CSW's fraud? it was proven that he is a fraud in the first days that he made the claim about being real Satoshi Nakamoto but failed to provide any kind of proof whatsoever.

all the subsequent discussions about it only gave him more publicity and helped him with his fraud and we are currently seeing one of the reasons why he pulled that scam last year. in short it was to make money!
826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin grown in the past year despite the price? on: November 20, 2018, 07:47:07 AM
bitcoin's "growth" is not based on its price although it is the most visible and measurable factor but it is not the defining factor. the growth is all about adoption of bitcoin which can be seen in the number of merchants that are accepting bitcoin as payment and also number of people who now own some bitcoin. it is hard to measure because there isn't any database to have ALL the merchants in it and also it is impossible to know how many people own bitcoin. but with information that we already have (databases that list bitcoin merchants, blockchain analysis) we can see that there is a growth. although growth is always bigger faster during price rallies but it is still happening this year too.
827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Banks Are Coming. Should That Make You Nervous? on: November 20, 2018, 07:27:54 AM
in a way this was expected to happen and in fact I expect that in the future a lot of banks start accepting bitcoin and treat it as they treat fiat because they wouldn't want to be left behind. although bitcoin has never needed them and will never do but they are still services that are looking for money.

besides what do you think Coinbase is if not a bitcoin bank?  so this is not exactly a new thing!
828  Economy / Speculation / Re: How the hell is bitcoin not at $50k yet with stock and real estate bubbles? on: November 19, 2018, 05:07:45 AM
it is just because of the fear of the unknown.

bitcoin is new, and it is constantly under attack. not a day goes by without media publishing some FUD about bitcoin. specially during down trends which makes them bolder. you don't see the media call stocks of companies that are being traded the most as scam, fraud,... on daily basis but they are doing it to bitcoin.
now add to that the manipulation in the market itself done by whales and any person looking at the market from outside would be filled with fear.
829  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading tension about Ethereum on: November 18, 2018, 11:29:29 AM
rank of an altcoin based on its market capitalization is completely meaningless no matter which coin it is. it becomes even more meaningless when that said coin has a huge premine such as both XRP and ETH which had majority of their coins premined. so try not to put too much thought into which one of these two shitcoins are rank 2 and which one is 3!

as for trading them right now we are still in the dumping phase for most altcoins, specially the "top rank" ones. so the strategies that you can use these days would only be shorting or buying the dips to dump right away at dead cat bounces.
830  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Using Take-Profit Orders or Stop Loss on: November 18, 2018, 11:21:44 AM
I use to use these types of automatic orders before and I even suggested them to others but nowadays I no longer believe they can be a good idea because of the way the cryptocurrency market works. it is too volatile and too unpredictable. it goes up and down out of nowhere sometimes and with all the altcoin pumps that are always going on you can never come up with a decent algorithm to act fast and sell your coins to prevent losses without actually making you to miss out on the pump.
now I prefer doing everything manually and with minimal automation.
831  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are Bitcoin Cash overlords selling their BTC stashes? on: November 18, 2018, 10:40:23 AM
people like CSW and his likes on the other side have to finance this war somehow.
...
Anyway, I should have said "will be selling",

when you create a useless new altcoin, you want to pump it in early days of its existence specially when there is a war going on that you want to survive. so if your theory was right and they were to sell "bitcoin" to finance their war, they should have done it already that is why is said the drop in your scenario should have happened but has not.
not to mention that this war is between BCash and BCashSV not between them and bitcoin. CSW tried to pull bitcoin in the drama and could succeed a little but not much. hence the $5.5k current price instead of a lower one.
832  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are Bitcoin Cash overlords selling their BTC stashes? on: November 18, 2018, 10:24:19 AM
overlords? seriously Cheesy

and how do you explain the lack of price drop if they are really overlords and are selling their "stashes"? price entered $5k level on 14th (4 days ago) and has stayed there. that was basically the bulk of the drop which was panic sellers and whales having fun with the market.

if your theory of the "overlords" were true then price should have gone down at least 10-15% per day and be at $3k already.
833  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin stored Locally on: November 18, 2018, 07:43:55 AM
this is unlikely to be a bug. that error message is a network error message that the bitcoin network is giving you not the wallet. and it means that one or more of your new transaction outputs that you are trying to create is smaller than dust amount so it is considered non-standard and the nodes you are connecting to are rejecting it.

in your preview window at the bottom of the page inside Outputs you should see the new outputs you are creating. there is an amount in front of each of them. one should be smaller than dust limit which is causing the problem. change that and your TX will go through.
834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining my Bitcoin fork is now impossible? on: November 18, 2018, 07:27:26 AM
bitcoin should not be concerned about keeping a deprecated code that some altcoin may want to use when they copy the bitcoin code!

not to mention that if the person forking bitcoin (copying the code) is not capable of writing the code for the part regarding mining themselves then they shouldn't even be starting a new coin in first place! you are basically asking for a lazy way of creating a copycat without even knowing what you are doing which means the resulting coin is going to be a shitcoin.
835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: VOLATILITY IN BITCOIN,WHO SHOULD BE WORRIED? on: November 18, 2018, 07:01:56 AM
i also wants to point out that The ratio, which divides bitcoin’s market cap by its average daily volume, suggests we are about halfway through a long-term bear trend.

just because after a couple of months of stability and accumulation we had a small drop, it doesn't mean we are in a the middle of a bear market! if the dropped had continued then you could have been right but as you can see the drop happened quickly in less than a day and stopped then and there. and the reason for it as everyone knows was panic thanks to BCH fork FUD.
836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New hate wave? on: November 18, 2018, 06:49:20 AM
it is nothing new that during price drops every single FUDster in the world start becoming super active. they clearly see the opportunity presented to them by the small price drop and newbie panics to use it to their own advantage and spread some FUD and try to get the price lower than it should be.
most of the times they are successful like 4 days ago when they FUD bitcoin down. which is why they keep on repeating it with the same exact strategy each time until people catch on and stop falling for it.

in any case, it is a short lived drama with the drop that will be resolved pretty soon and bitcoin will be back on track of rising up. all the FUD and hate waves can not stop what matters most which is adoption...
837  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: you are being manipulated by the government on: November 18, 2018, 06:40:34 AM
I don't think governments care about bitcoin price, they may be worried about its existence and try to destroy it but they won't try doing it with the price manipulation because price drops won't kill bitcoin but it may even make it stronger and help some people own a lot more bitcoin than before!

this drop and the drops like it are purely manipulation done by people participating in the market not the government.
838  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SOLUTION TO KNOW IF SATOSHI NAKAMOTO IS REALLY DEAD.... on: November 18, 2018, 06:32:55 AM
one of the main reasons why bitcoin was created was to have a currency system that gives you the chance of being your own bank and be in full control of your own money and do with it whatever you choose to do. and this is true for everyone, creator, developer, average Joe, scammer Craig,... and nobody should ever be allowed to change that and make decisions for them no matter who they are and how much bitcoin they own. if we start changing that then everything will fall apart.
839  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Defining Risk on: November 17, 2018, 10:42:54 AM
I find it confusing defining risk in fiat when looking to place a trade due to the numerous exchange rates. Does anybody use a spreadsheet which does all the calculations for them upon entering price, stop loss and desired risk in fiat?

If yes, would you be willing to share the spreadsheet which you use?

I guess you can research if such tools or apps exist. If I remember it correctly, there was quite a few but personally I don't used them because I'm just a casual trader.

I guess a 5%-10% loss is a good thing to start, but then again, people have different risk appetite and risk mitigation so its really up to you.

the thing about loss in trading is that the amount does not matter in my opinion. what matters most is why that loss happened. for example if the loss was an unexpected market movement like the recent dip then it is ok to experience such loss and the size of it doesn't matter much. but if it was because you made a mistake and fell for some fake hype in some altcoin and bought into its bubble and got dumped, then that kind of loss is unacceptable no matter how much it is .
840  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next Stop of BTC.....5000$ on: November 17, 2018, 09:14:22 AM
in this market if you want to be successful then you have to stop being excited about each price move. for example in this case you are acting irrational and based on emotion saying price is down to $5k or in case of rises for those who saw $20k and thought $100k is the next stop.
this move was a small one, although it is risky but this drop is all there is. you can't predict any lower level based on nothing since it has dropped because of nothing! and as manipulations go, they are unpredictable.
