Hi, Thank you gentlemand & monkeynuts for your answers Just wondering: is the gilt/sliver 1 Btc really gold-plated? Cheers

Hello Everybody My question might seem pretty obvious for the experts, but according to the pictures the 1Btc Silver really look like the 1Btc Gilt/Silver (some people call them Gold/Silver if i understood correctly, although there is no gold in them). So i was wondering if the differences between these two coins were really noticiable. Also, in terms of value, would it be reasonnable to think that a Gilt/Silver is 10% higher than a Silver of the same grading? What do you think?

Correct just the coins in the display case. I probably should have taken a new picture to avoid any confusion.
Ok, thanks. Even if you want to sell the set in one go, i think it would be easier for the potential buyers to have a price for each coin. In that case anyone who would be interested could reserved the coin. Maybe an expert member, uninterested in buying, could suggest a price for each coin (taking into consideration that the total should be BTC10). What do you think?

@Blazedout419: That's great thanks Blaze However can you please clarify which set are you willing to sell for 10 BTC. On the picture it looks as if there are two sets: First set: Silver/Gold Single MS-67 Silver Single MS-67 Silver Halve MS-67 Silver Tenth MS-67 Second set: Gilt Silver 1 BTC 3*MS 68+1*MS67 Needless to say that the second set looks even more interesting Cheers. A group buy of that set? I would be willing to do that I guess...I could ship them out separately. The condition would be that it is all sold at once.

What about making a group buy? I would like to buy one myself too I have a complete set of them I would sell all graded MS-67. Not really wanting to break them up though. Silver/Gold Single MS-67 Silver Single MS-67 Silver Halve MS-67 Silver Tenth MS-67 It comes with a nice display case also..looking for 10 BTC shipped. Ignore bottom coins it is the ones in wooden box.. Also the tenth there is actually being auctioned, but I will toss in a different MS-67 one.

Hello,
Just wondering: are all the coins still available?
In other words, have the offers from the potential buyers all been declined?
Cheers.
|
|
|
Hello,
I didn't know that the buyer may retract his offer. Aren't the offers firm, meaning that if the seller agrees then the buyer must pay?
Cheers.

Hi Do you mean that most coins without PGP docs are counterfeit/fake or compromised? Not sure if a custody chain can be of any help to refrain such troubles, but maybe i'm wrong...

Hi everybody, i went to the bitcoinmagazine website. Is there a reason why only the first issue is expensive (apart from rarety). Also, why bidding over the price bitcoinmagazine is currently asking for it? Cheers

1BTC silvers have a hologram that's too big for the coin, so Casascius used his laser to melt the outer edge of the holos. On early coins, these melt rings were generally symmetrical. On later coins -- silver+gold especially -- many of the melt rings are terribly uneven. Check the pictures in OP. ANACS, the third-rate coin grading service that is also the only place willing to grade Casascius coins, does not factor the hologram into their grading system IN ANY FASHION, so it's possible to have two coins with equal grades where one is much more visually appealing than the other. Most collectors (vs flippers) avoid the silver+golds for this reason. I've had a few but have not kept a single one because I've never had one with a hologram worth keeping. THAT SAID, if you're buying these coins to grade and sell, go ahead. Just make sure you sell before the market smartens up and starts buying the coin instead of the grade Thanks a lot for your explanation.

I do not think the hologram placement effects the value of the coin. I will say that I only kept perfectly placed holograms in my personal collection also only MS-67's.
It seems paradoxical...
