The downloads are much higher than I expected, great job!
Also, any way to know how many people are actively using GetGems and have it on their phone?

Is the zapchain AMA completely over? There are some interesting questions to be answered and no winners have been selected.

The attention economy would only work inside Getgems app as far as I understand.
The AE would work with all B2C apps (GetGems, Paykey for Gems and Paykey for Bitcoin) by using Gems. The reason someone would download Paykey for Gems is the same reason anyone would download GetGems over WhatsApp. Because of the AE. Once you assume they are just thinking out their 5% and how they can maximise that all their decisions are perfectly clear to me at least.
I'm pretty sure it's 0.5% There are various options that would benefit the gems community,
1. Getgems with BTC in one app. At least the Bitcoinuser base is bigger than the miniscule one for Gemz..
I agree, it would be great if it was possible to use both in the same keyboard. I use both so it would be kinda annoying to constantly switch between those two.

I'm glad there are many sensible people around who can actually think clearly and don't act out. Also, is the zapchain AMA still ongoing? There are some interesting questions to be answered and no winners have been selected.

Dude you're having a meltdown, control your emotions. I personally think you are all overreacting, because it's much simpler than it really seems. Daniel has done a great job, actually finding the perfect balance in creating a real sustainable company while also overdelivering for us.
Think outside the box.

But does Paykey benefit Getgems and if so how?
GetGems is wallet + social messenger. PayKey "for gems" is a wallet to pay within social messengers. Both will incorporate AE when we reach a critical mass of gems users to attract advertisers. PayKey enables gems payments within any social network, initial version will be released very soon to beta testers. Last month alone more than 10,000+ users joined the GetGems ecosystem and are now telling others. GetGems for the iOS App reached position #375 on US-Social Networking download chart on Oct 29, 2015 which is an amazing achievement without any outside paid marketing at all. The biggest organic mechanism that generated organic growth are the referral system + airdrop and the fact that each transaction has a link to download the app - since most of the transactions take place in group chats this unique technology is exposed more and more. PayKey enables to leverage the social graph of the biggest messenger and not "just" Telegram 65 million active users. Most "pure" bitcoin users don't use GetGems, we can see this by the amount of users with gems only wallet compared to gems + bitcoin wallets. PayKey "for bitcoin" will attract the "pure" bitcoin users to our technology. PayKey "for fiat" + white label PayKey are aimed for mainstream users that are still "far away" from using crypto. It's not a secret that crypto education takes time and that there is a lot of work ahead, adding fiat capabilities and connecting with leading players in the financial industry will help grab users that would have previously been unapproachable, and in the future build the bridges back to blockchain technology. Some of the biggest companies that are adapting to the market: Circle: https://blog.circle.com/2015/09/22/us-dollar-payments-free-debit-cards-circle-app-updates/Uphold: https://uphold.com/en/blog/posts/uphold/welcome-to-uphold-the-internet-of-moneyChangeTip: https://www.reddit.com/r/changetip/comments/3laybl/changetip_now_supports_usd_some_thoughts_about/ ("76% of people would not use ChangeTip because it was bitcoin") Will PayKey for Gems be the only version of PayKey to incorporate AE?

ok, I agree that we need to build up the user base in the first place.
What are the standard strategies to do this?
GG has a referal bounty in place. What about a give-away for new users? That is what reveal will do....
Karmala
I think Getgems does give 5 gems to new users, which is about 3x more (when adjusted with the total number of both coins) than reveal gives (1000 of their currency)

To be completely honest, I think the current wallet design is way better than the proposed one in every way. I usually like what the team has been doing but this time I'm not feeling it. It looks a bit messy and way too much information in one place. Also, the blue does not fit GetGems at all, because the colour of the app is extremely important for the app to be recognisable and marketable, I see no point in using a random colour (in terms of GetGems) that is so overused already. So far all the designs have been much more user friendly and easier to understand.

probably not a true representation of the number of followers, she's following almost as much, a follow for follow account

For the second time, I tried GetGems on my android phone and a friend's OnePlus One.
After about a week, I see 100+mb of data usage on each device, despite very little time spent using the app. Also, the OPO showed high battery usage. So unfortunately it's got to be uninstalled again...
Then I looked on my Nexus 7 2013, and the app has used 285mb in the past month, and 247mb of that is background usage. Again, I've barely used the app on my Nexus.
It's hard to believe the data use is from emoji/gifs/media. And I don't want to restrict the app in any way from it's default settings. Maybe some of the data use is from the app updates?
Anyone else out there with this issue?
maybe it's because of the constant BTC blockchain syncing?

could you implement touch ID where pin is required for the ios GetGems?

Great update, will GetGems support Apple Watch as well?
We are waiting to get our hands on one and than will start exploring this option. (Note: GetGems web client is being worked on and is higher on the to-do list) Okay, also, when you invite friends through the contacts tab, it won't give a user specific download link.
