As far as Dollar tree, I decided just to test out a $5 card. Placed an order for pickup. My account was immediately deactivated. I definitely think they're on to the cards. I doubt anyone will have any luck redeeming them.

Typically a retail store would not have access to a corporation's billing and accounting. Unless a customer has a habit of doing fraudulent purchases, I doubt they would contact the local branch.

Pretty obvious they disabled your account because technally it's been engaged in fraudulent activity. I wouldn't worry too much about picking up the order. Worst case scenerio they tell you they don't get the order. They're not exaclty going to have a police sting operation over one gift card.

The problem is though the insiders have the capasity to be just as dangerous.

I'm not sure if this has already been discussed, but has anyone had any luck using the dollar tree cards in store?

I have to say as an American I think at least half the population is racist, whether they realize it or not. I live in an extremely liberal town with 3 colleges and still had a bunch of neighbors going on about how the Muslim were coming for us all during the last election. I don't think it's just the US through. People all seem to be afraid of anything different whether it's appearance, religious beliefs, or cultural difference. It's become human nature to believe any percieved outsiders are dangerous.

Are you really still trying with all the scam accusations? Just stop.

Thanks for your support. I mainly just wanted to make sure people were warned. The transaction just felt wrong the entire time and it's my own fault for getting scammed. Given how active he's been lately I just wanted people knew what he's up to.

What happened:

I made a post looking for Starbucks gift cards. I recieved a PM from Darkwinde saying to contact through skype. After negotiating user agreed to sell me $100 Starbucks for $50. Normally I'd use escrow but given their hero member account I stupidly agreed to send half first and half after. After sending the $25 the seller immediately stopped responding.

Additional Notes:

Apparently a new user is also accusing them of scamming. Not sure if it's credible or not, but I think it's likely that Darkwinde is PMing other users looking to scam them. Darkwinde's email has also been changed recently.
