Would invest.  Grin

Absolutely in if this (or something similar in the future) happens.
643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC-GLOBAL] LTC-ATF on: August 27, 2013, 06:21:26 PM
hey deprived, how we doing the last few weeks?  Lot of change in LTC/BTC, lots of volatility in a whole bunch of securities recently
644  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: August 14, 2013, 04:24:04 PM
I applaud the move. I don't like diddling with the market either, but when the only thing happening is strictly exploitation of ignorance, it's for the best.

yeah i think its fair and reasonable and a good thing for the security going forward, just wish it had been communicated earlier.  (maybe it was and I missed it?)
645  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: August 14, 2013, 04:09:04 PM
SELLING order book has been cleared and it's back open.  I won't be touching it again today.

damn I rearranged my schedule to try to be available to sell post div.

Currency exchange rate notations use the forward slash counter-intuitively. For example, the exchange rate for the Euro in U.S. Dollars is noted as "EUR/USD", which many would reasonably read to mean "Euros per Dollar". In practice, it is exactly the opposite: It means U.S. Dollars per Euro. In currency exchange notation, the currency preceding the slash is the Base currency and is always the number "1". The currency after the slash is the "counter-currency" or the "quoted currency". So "EUR/USD" means that One Euro equals "x" number of U.S. Dollars.

lol, ok, I stand corrected!  except for the part about btct displaying that way for a while, which is def true

Stop me if you've been over this..

Logged in today and noticed for the first time the LTC/BTC ratio in the header read 35.08771929. That meant either I had missed a historical event in the popularity of LTC, or you're showing the inverse of what seems to be the traditional way to read the ratio, "1 LTC = x BTC."

That header has displayed that way quite a while.  It's just the difference between LTC/BTC or BTC/LTC, the "traditional way," for example, on BTC-E's LTC/BTC chart, is just plain wrong, it should say BTC/LTC, not LTC/BTC.

BTCTCO is BTC denominated, so it shows the # of LTC you can buy for one BTC.  On a LTC denominated site, it would display the # of BTC you could buy for 1 LTC.

The price of LTC/BTC should be interpreted as "how many litecoins per one bitcoin?" ~34
The price of BTC/LTC should be interpreted as "how many bitcoins per one litecoin?" ~.029

Hey Burnside, I have a very minor feature request-

I'd love to be able to turn off the email notification for order cancels only, but don't see that option in the settings.  (I assume it's part of trade notifications).  I like getting email notifications on my trades, because I leave orders up when I'm away from the computer, and its nice to get an email when some stock is crashing or bubbling so I can place more trades, but the cancels aren't useful to me at all, and I get so many!

Obviously not a super important or high priority request

wtf i wanted shares at .13!!!  stupid work meetings
650  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: July 22, 2013, 07:36:23 PM
gah, those darn summer sales, dont remind me of them.. i also missed the 40% off price on BTC

yeah that 40% off sale was a quick one!  I missed it too Sad
651  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: July 22, 2013, 07:19:40 PM
sorry if I missed it, but Deprived, did we get an answer to how we've put in to JD total?  House profit/loss is useful, but I don't know how much our % of the house stake is.

Furuknap- I'm hesitant to get into this with you, but I'm curious- what are your thoughts on the following statement? (in general, not specifically as regarding this security)

"In the long run, the marginal cost of bitcoin mining will approach and eventually become equal to or less than the marginal reward from bitcoin mining."  Agree? Disagree? Rephrase in a way you agree?
652  Economy / Securities / Re: The coming flash crash in AMC on: July 22, 2013, 07:12:00 PM
Hmmm, so much for that flash crash.  You guys look pretty silly right now as the price climbs higher and higher.

you do realize right after entropy posted, the share price started falling from .0025 to as low as .0009, and it still has yet to recover to the .0025 people bought it at?

As I said, you look really silly right now.

.00396 on bitfunder today.

strange, I don't feel silly.  I doubt entropy does either- he posted it would crash, it DID crash by 2/3, then only recovered once the entire business was re-organized and many of the most obviously glaring problems were sort of fixed?  You bulls should really be more thankful to the skeptics, or do you miss your little VMC-AMC multi-level clusterfuck?

I bought a whole bunch at .0025 when the wall was falling and sold them at a range of ~.003-.0034, then did it again with the 2nd wall, buying @.0025 and selling @.0035-.004.  I expect the chance to do it again when Ken feels like dumping more shares.  Guess what- even skeptics are allowed to make money off of absurdly valued securities and asset price bubbles.  Maybe this company is worth a fraction of its current market cap, or maybe one guy who can barely read and write english and continually makes the same mistakes plus a few family members is actually a secret genius who has super mega awesome mining code and will be pumping out millions of dollars of the BESTEST MACHINES EVAR and is going to make a bunch of millionaires out of all of us.

I'm completely over analyzing this company in any depth in public...it's been a FANTASTIC trading vehicle for me from the moment it debuted on BTCT and I will continue following it closely and trading in it, and good luck to those who want to hold for the long term.
653  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: July 18, 2013, 11:16:28 PM
366 is a lot of shares relative to what usually trades - I'd have to speculate that it's the mini-rig seller taking a bit of cash out.

agree
654  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread on: July 18, 2013, 11:13:16 PM
There's now a 250k sell wall at BTC0.00250 on BitFunder, I don't remember that being there before.

LOVE that episode Smiley
655  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: July 18, 2013, 11:09:23 PM
This round's dividends for Selling will be significantly lower than usual because of massive investment losses on just-dice and low volume in general, that is why I sold out of Selling at least.

How much are we in for at Just Dice?  I know we started with 100 and that Deprived added more at some point, but I can't seem to find a post showing how much we added?
656  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: July 17, 2013, 11:17:53 PM
There is no way the seller of the minirig is going to sit on over a thousand shares, I have a bad feeling that this new major shareholder might go on a selling spree or at least undercut current asks by a significant amount

Dude is instantly gonna be one of the biggest holders of Basic.  Even if he has no interest in staying in it long term, he has even less interest in cratering the price, for purely selfish reasons
657  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: July 17, 2013, 11:16:41 PM
Fun and lucrative...shouldn't you be getting close to an on-paper fiat millionaire?

Well, if anyone really wants to know (and because it will embarrass creativex, plus I can get away with it because he's traveling right now) here are the numbers in his local fiat (USD):

10000 shares * BTC0.71393 (24hr avg share prices) * ~$92 (24hr avg Gox) = $661,838.80

This number does not include any dividends that holding 20% of the virtual stock would give him.

I'd say he's done a great job for less than a year's work.

In before he comes back with 3 minig rigs, 7 avalons and 5 singles

LOL  Cheesy

Yeah, I did some quick math @.8/share and $100/coin, then 325 more shares incoming and creatives holdings should have thrown off ~27 BTC in divs since inception.  Might seem hard to calculate based on changing # of shares and the split, but its just

Sum for all days of (each daily div amount*total # of shares outstanding that day*.2).

He is paying for all electricity/circuits/AC and all that which is probably starting to get significant, but ONE MILLION DOLLARS is a fun number to toss around Smiley

I was going to ask about when new equipment would be acquired. Clearly this is something that you are actively working on while you are away from the boards.

Thank you for your continued efforts on this "little startup". Can't wait until you tell us that you are no longer living in a home, but a mining facility (or has that happened already?). Grin

Hi cashmere. Yes this is taking more of my time than I'd originally intended, but it's been fun.

Cheers.

**Important Announcement**

bASIC-Mining virtual shareholders,

I'd like to get shareholder approval to fund the purchase of an immediately available BFL minirig with shares. The purchase price is 1300 shares payable when I take physical possession of the unit. An additional 325 shares would be issued to me at that time as per bASIC-Mining's contract. Dividends on these shares will offset the significant expense involved with hosting such a powerful piece of mining equipment. I believe this to be a good move for bASIC-Mining as it would increase our hashrate by over 100% while adding only 1625 outstanding shares(+3.25%). As this is a time sensitive negotiation I will be posting a motion within the hour.

Cheers.

Hot.
660  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: July 11, 2013, 06:09:12 PM
yeah its all good, I remembered the part about mining dividend based on 16 hours, but not the part about that affecting selling div timing if difficulty had changed already, but I haven't actually looked at all the details of the fund since week 1 when I set up my spreadsheet, and now I just look at that Smiley
