any error messages?
No, nothing like that. I can see that it is oppening, near my mousepointer is a circle, and than electrum crashes without any message or oppening window. I'd suggest just re-installing Electrum and hopefully that solves the issue. Could be a software conflict if you've changed any software on your system in the last little while.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We need to convert Bitcoins to new units...
|
on: January 24, 2016, 12:15:47 AM
|
this debate was already said last year..
the agreement was when transacting and the number of 0's starts giving people blurred vision.. people will start using 'bits'.. (0.000001 / 100sats)
trying to rename bitcoin as being 1.00000000 to being something else would cause more confusion. and also it would be like trying to call a gram of gold, a tonne
Basically this, it was discussed about a year ago and lots of people seemed to agree on using the mBTC (milli-bitcoin), or 0.001 BTC. It's sort of been the defacto-standard for a portion of a bitcoin for at least a year now.

Nope, OP is using 2.5.4, it no longer allows importing keys into existing wallets. Good catch, I didn't realize that I wasn't running 2.5.4 (I'm using 2.3.2 right now). If the sweep option isn't working for OP, he could always try using an older Electrum version, such as 2.3.2, and then importing the keys.

Is there anyway to put the private key into the wallet?
Yes there is: - Go to Wallet -> Private Keys -> Import
- Enter your Electrum Password, and then accept the warning - as a heads up, if you ever decide to recover your Electrum wallet through your seed, your imported private keys won't be recovered
- Enter your private keys and then click Import, you should then have the new private keys in your wallet, making the funds in them spendable

I guess I'm rejected. I'm currently not enrolled to secondstrade still though. Its just that I've had higher chance to get accepted there than here in BetKing.io as they usually accept users of any rank. I will have to wait for ther response to my application. If you want to apply for this campaign while still keeping your SecondsTrade sig on, you can send yahoo a PM voicing your interest in this campaign. He'll then review you and let you know if he'd accept or deny you. If he says that he'd accept you, you can change your signature and then apply again in this thread.

The sad part is collecting. If he has no income and no property it might be next to impossible to get anything even after winning the case
From the dox I have, it seems he is f*cking rich. Wonder why he needed to scam From what I've seen in this thread, he's been scamming long before the stunt he pulled here on Bitcointalk. Probably made a decent portion of his "riches" from pulling similar scams.

This forum earns ad rev thanks to shitcoins, not to bitcoin.
I think you just answered your own question - why would they remove the altcoin sections or ban altcoin discussion on the website if they're making healthy profits by allowing people to discuss altcoins? If you don't like the altcoin sections of the site you can stay away from them, or if you don't agree with how the site is run you're free to leave at any time.

I don't understand why you loosing the BTC is a reason to not repay the loan. Weren't you going to spend it anyway and pay me back by other means? Or was the plan all along just to sell me the account?
Derp, I would assume he just scammed you and disguised his account sale as the loan you fulfilled. Forum accounts make for shitty collateral, let this be a lesson to you. I hope that he at least got a signed message for the account with the loan. At least if he did, he'd only be out a small bit of money. If not, he could be out of the account as well as the "loan" funds.

How about lawsuits from individuals? I mean this is enough money to sue someone.
I'm not a lawyer, but I'm guessing that if someone had the interest, time, and money to pursue him they could probably file a case against him. Depending on the amount that master-P stole from the user, they may be able to file a small claim court case, as long as the amount was under $25,000 CAD. I found a page about Ontario small claims court here, if anyone is interested in reading a little more about it. It seems like a claim against master-P might fall under the "breach of contract" type claim, if they were able to get an escrow contract from him. But like I said before, I'm not a lawyer so I don't know a whole lot about this kind of stuff.

Not being familiar with Canada law--do local police handle internet scams? Is what he scammed considered (legally) theft? Do we have any members here who are lawyers? I know when I frequented the JREF forum there were tons of them.
If my memory serves me right, quite a few of the larger cities in Canada do have online crime units. However, I suspect something like the master-P case would be extremely low priority to them. He stole what, about 24 BTC? The owner of PBMining ran off with a much larger amount and the police didn't do much of anything in trying to track him down and charge him. These online crime units seem to focus on much larger issues... CP and that sort of stuff is much higher priority to them.

this website confirmed scam?
I try register account and never found sign up link anywhere
dead?
As soon as you visit the website an account is created for you. It has a random username that you can change, and you can also set a password for your account. There's no need on the website for a sign up link so they didn't include one.

i can not explain how they are exactly manipulating, my acknowledge is limited in this space.
Maybe you shouldn't be making these accusations if you don't know how bitcoin casinos, and their seeds work. NLNico disproved this scam theory on the first page of this thread.

What about eligius or antpool what to move to?
You could also just look at renting your miner out on a site like MiningRigRentals. From my experience you tend to earn a slight bit more renting miners out than mining straight bitcoin. If you don't want to manually manage rentals, another option would be to use NiceHash. They manage all the rentals for you, and then just pay you out.

I'm unsure if I've staked my address before (I know I've posted it before, just not in this thread) so here it is: 1BTvaus9gBkknn4TNDBvbYwMhhiTfxpXJDMessage: This is ColderThanIce on Bitcointalk. Today is January 3rd, 2016.

I don't really hate anyone on this forum. The one thing I do hate, is when people go ont other peoples accounts and put "bought account" in their trust. It really pisses me off. Can they just mind their own business.
I think neutral trust ratings like that are beneficial, especially when the account has been involved in trades here before. It's a good thing for people to know that the trust ratings may not be accurate anymore, because there's a decent chance the account might be used to try and scam people. I'd be happy that your account only has a neutral rating, I know some people around here drop negative trusts on sold accounts, and that was done even more so when leaving neutral trust wasn't an option.
