It looks like some clarification is needed. The 'markings' found on the coins in the pictures above are perfectly normal for the prototype coins in question. As stated in our second post (see page 1) these coins weren't actually intended on being sold. We still do not sell these coins but rather offer them as promotional freebies when an order of 5 or more coins is placed. The markings shown above actually came about during production. The coins themselves are made of a zinc alloy. After the coins had been struck, they underwent the gold plating process. The method used by the mint wasn't perfect and they plated the coins using a brush plating method instead of the preferred immersion electroplating. So in short, the ) marks that you're seeing is where the brush 'strokes' ended and thus appear slightly different from the rest of the plating on the coin. Hopefully that clears up any confusion. Thanks

We spoke to our manufacturer about this but they weren't helpful and we ended up having to pay them more to remake the holograms after they remake a new hologram master. This will set back the release of the assembled coins to July 2015. We can confirm that the assembled coins will be limited to 100 coins only and will sell for $20 per coin.
You meant July 2016, right? Also, I don't get why you have to cover any extra costs to do with the holograms if the company creating them didn't get them right the first time. Unless you had to approve the "hologram master" before printing and it had unforeseen defects? Any other manufacturing issue expense should be covered by them, they're meant to be the experts.. Yes, we meant 2016 We spent a long time negotiating with our manufacturer. They had a duty to tell us that there was an issue with the hologram master, but they failed to do so. As much as we argued, we saw it as a lost case. The best deal they offered us was in making a new hologram master and discounting the total cost by our last order. However, the cost of the new hologram master is significantly larger than the cost of our last order alone... Even so, we still think that it's going to be a great deal at $20. The coins will also come in a Lighthouse square capsule with an insert Will these ones be numbered, unlike the ones from the previous serie ? If so I'd like to reserve some. No problem for me to pay an extra in order to do so.
Concerning the prototypes, except the holograms, will something change ?
The assembled coins w will release in July will be exactly the same as the DIY coins in terms of design. However, they will come assembled with a silver hologram. This hologram will never be sold or distributed and will only be found on coins we assemble ourselves. Unfortunately we do not have the right equipment to engrave the coins. The prototype coins will not change, however, we will never assemble any more of the prototypes with the silver holograms. There will only be 10 of them in existence. They are also the first 10 numbered We can confirm that the assembled coins will be limited to 100 coins only and will sell for $20 per coin. The first 10 coins (out of the 100 prototype coins) have been assembled by us using the best holograms of our last batch. They aren't perfect, but they are far better than the others we had to dispose of. There will only ever be 10 prototypes assembled by SHIBANU. These coins are not for sale, but are being offered out for every 10 coins purchased on a first come first served basis. Once these coins go, they're gone for good. The current price for a single DIY coins is $18. I'll take one of every version you are willing to sell me! coins out of the 100 prototypes that were made. If you're inter seed in buying some coins, please send us a PM. All other PMs will be replied to in the next few minutes. Thanks

At long last, we have some news! We received the holograms from our manufacturer last week. However, due to a fault with the hologram master, the holograms came out slightly damaged. We tried sifting through the holograms to hand select the best, but too few passed our quality checks... We spoke to our manufacturer about this but they weren't helpful and we ended up having to pay them more to remake the holograms after they remake a new hologram master. This will set back the release of the assembled coins to July 2016. We can confirm that the assembled coins will be limited to 100 coins only and will sell for $20 per coin. Due to the unexpected extra costs involved as well as the manufacturing cost of our next product (it's epic), we need to raise some funds. We initially set aside the first 10 prototype coins to stay within the company. However, now that things have changed, we have decided to use these coins to help our company grow. The coins come assembled with a silver hologram and are closed in a Leuchtturm/Lighthouse everslab. These coins will come fully funded too! Pictures of said coins can be found below. The current price for a single DIY coins is $18. The price for 10 coins is $16/coin excluding shipping. We'd like to apologise once again for the delay in releasing the assembled coins. We really wanted them to have been ready by now, but unforeseen circumstances have prevented this from happening. On the bright side, a member of our team has been working closely with bigtimespaghetti on a new product and it is awesome. We are just waiting to get the renders back from the manufacturer before we begin production. It's definitely something worth waiting for Thanks to you all for your continued support! SHIBANU

We have reduced our prices to $15 per coin for the next 5 days only... Send us a PM if you want to place an order. We have exciting news that we can't wait to share. But when we do, these special prices will be no longer Let me guess something : a new serie of coins ? Are the prices of these nice looking physical coins negotiable ? Yes and No. You will have to wait and see. The price of each coin is non-negotiable. However, we offer larger discounts for large purchases. We also have an offer running that includes one free 'prototype' coin with every 5 coins purchased. If you are interested in placing a larger order, please send us a PM. Thanks Interesting and too bad. The idea of the free prototype coin is interesting. The picture of it appears for me as an invalid proxy error. Can I get a new link please ? The photo on the first page should be working There is a much better photo here though (credit: minerjones) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1168463.msg13177542#msg13177542

Any word on the new coins/holograms that you wanted to produce??
We are working with a user on the forum to design something awesome. We're still going through the ideas stage but we've got some great ideas and sketches. We will have to count how many 2015 Dogecoins we have left. Sales have slowed down for the last two weeks so we're not sure if producing a new hologram will be a viable option. We may just assemble 50-100 coins and sell them with a COA.

The problem with selling the assembled gold ones is that people could simply use their DIY holograms to replicate the coins. Say our firstbits show a wallet address starting with DG30oC1a, anyone who has a gold hologram can assemble their own coin and replicate these firstbits to give the impression that their selling a coin funded and assembled by us, where in truth the coin could have no private jet underneath whatsoever.
We need to find a possible solution to this to ensure that this won't happen. Our best option would be to use a different hologram that we will only use on assembled coins. However, a new production run (without design costs) could range between $700-1000 alone. That would bring the price of each coin up by $7-10 simply because we'd need to divide that cost between the 100 coins.
Maybe use the Prototype ones for the pre-assembled "gold hologram" coins. I guess this could still be done to a degree if you have a decent amount of the Prototypes left. Un-hologram the pre-assembled ones all ready made and sell as the regular Shibanus. This way there would be only pre-assembled Prototypes out in the wild and not be any fake duplicate first bits coins. Thanks As good as a suggestion this is, users could simply take their prototypes and use their DIY holograms to produce assembled 'prototype' coins. Have you thought about collaborating with gravitate or mrbrt to use one of their unreleased hologram series on a limited edition set of your coins (50 or 100 coins)? Since they are already produced, the cost would be significantly less. coins... We have been in talks with gravitate with regards to future colloboration but nothing in connection with our current series. This could be a possible option although as far as we know, both manufacturers do have some holograms that were released non-assembled which takes us back to square one. If one of the above have some holos that they only used on assembled coins then it could potentially work. Since they are already produced, the cost would be significantly less. I had the same thought. This would work like the coins wttbs sold a while back. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1195329The only problem I see with this is if someone did not use these DIY holograms on the Microsoul coins, they could use them to replicate the new ones from SHIBANU. BUT, I know of only a couple people that got more than a couple of these coins, so the community would know pretty quickly if this came about. Is there a way to "number" holograms after they are printed?..... DUH (to myself )... smoothie does this with a laser for his "buyer funded" coins. Maybe this could be done using the Microsoul holos. The Ravenbit ones would work, but would have to use the Node ones? I am being lazy to look this up, but didn't mrbrt sell sheets of the Satoshi holos? or maybe sent many extras when ordering? I'm pretty sure I have 2 or more sheets of these somewhere. Just some more satoshi to chew on..... Thanks EDIT: Maybe just laser engrave the ones already pre-assembled. If there are less than 20 or so, this would solve the problem for cheap!! That is what we were thinking too. With regards to the laser engraving, that is also a possibility although anyone could laser engrave their holograms. We'd need to do some more research as we currently don't own a laser engraver. Thanks for the suggestions guys!

How many of you are interested in buying assembled coins? We are considering assembling the last 100 coins of this series but we'd need a new hologram to differentiate the assembled coins to the DIY coins. We were thinking of going with the same hologram in silver but this would cause us to have to charge quite a bit more for the coin... We're open to suggestions though Would they be loaded or unloaded with the 50,000 Doge? It wouldn't come loaded with the 50k DOGE. We would ask for payment + 50k DOGE and then we would load it upon delivery. We could also load the coins with the face value at the current rate of the buyer doesn't have any DOGE. The reason for the higher costs would be that we'd need to pay for a full hologram production run and the cost of this would have to be absorbed by the 100 coins. Normally speaking, a high production run would mean the cost would be spread more evenly over a greater number of coins. Here however, the low number of coins would cause the price per coin to increase. I like this idea. Cryptoimperator does it this way for their BTC coins. Would you then also sell the gold hologram assembled ones as pictured in the OP? Are custom holograms expensive? Thank you The problem with selling the assembled gold ones is that people could simply use their DIY holograms to replicate the coins.
