Payout are still jacked.  I'll be back once payouts start working again.

1.) Slush might be holding back payouts because he doesn't want to pay a botnet (wild speculation)

2.) why do people need a payout from pool of 0.20 BTC like 5 times a day (see screenshot somewhere above)? Do they spend these coins instantly? Do they not trust slush for 1 BTC? (note: I don't really care, since a lot of transactions are a good test of the network, I just don't understand the logic)

3.) How the hell are people "loosing profit" when payouts are delayed for a day or so? It's not like mtgox is going down.

Some of us trade on OTC, so mtgox doesn't matter.  Also some of us have more than 1btc sitting there.

Here are some of my rigs.  1 rig is in a data center and thus I can't exactly take pictures of it from here Tongue  Another is my roommates 5770, nothing special to see there.

The shelf computers has actually very good air flow, because there is about 8 feet of open space above them that opens into a hole in the floor of a closet in the 2nd floor.  I leave the closet door cracked and the heat escapes up the stairs to the 3rd floor where it escapes through a roof window.  Yes my house is really weird.

Not shown:
a 4U rackmount somewhere in San Jose with 2x5870s
another small machine with a 5770.

I'm at about 4.1Ghash/s right now.

I am seeign weird stuff on my miner. Maybe it is phoenix but the current block keeps swtiching, current block 122505 then a second later it is 122510 then back to 505. Socket errors.. time outs.. all kinds of stuff

Yeah I checked my miners, looks like lots of "job finished..."
way more than normal invalid shares.

Yeah something is up..
25  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Cooperative mining (270Ghash/s) on: May 07, 2011, 07:16:51 PM
I think something is wrong on the pool...

We have multiple "0" blocks.
Payouts aren't going out
Reward calculation for pool block 4258 I got jacked up.. there is no way with my hashrate I should be getting almost 1 btc over a 43 minute block.

rig in air-conditioned home means your PUE (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_usage_effectiveness) is 2. For comparison recently Facebook boasted that their coolest DC has 1.07 PUE and as another example my DC1 has PUE of 1.03.

PUE of 2 essentially means you pay twice for your rig's electricity. Not much to be proud of, really.

AC is definitely killer on efficiency.  I have to run AC on warm days, but usually only between the hours of 2pm-5pm.  Also the AC isn't aggressively run, 80F, keeps the cards cool enough.  It hurts, but the setup is still profitable.  Rest of the time box fans take care of cooling.  Also its a window unit, so its just cooling one room, not the whole house.

First PR-2000 off the line. Generates over 2.0 GH/s using 3x 6990s at stock clocks.

What motherboard is that with that kind of spacing?

I'm getting a way wrong numbers for my confirmed and unconfirmed reward.

I'd like to see it done for slush's pool as well Smiley
30  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Cooperative mining (220Ghash/s) on: April 28, 2011, 10:34:33 PM
Bad gateway for me.  I was having some weird time out connections with phoenix 1.3, switched to the new build of poclbm (same performance as phoenix) we'll see if connection time out issues return.
31  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: [MINER] Phoenix - New efficient, fast, modular miner **BFI_INT support!** on: April 26, 2011, 12:43:28 AM
Got it working properly with my 6970s.  My cards are oc'd to 970mhz with watercooling.  I went from ~375Mhash/s to 405-410Mhash/s.

This sir is epic.
32  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: [MINER] Phoenix - New efficient, fast, modular miner **BFI_INT support!** on: April 25, 2011, 11:05:51 PM
Saw similar increases with my 5870s as others have.

My 6970s saw either no increase or decrease in performance depending on the flags.

Also so no increase on my 5770.
33  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: 15 Ghash/s offer: raw RPC mining, or zero-variance delivery on: April 24, 2011, 05:50:16 AM
I'm confused.  You are selling 1 Ghash/s for 1 month for 331 btc?  1 Ghash/s at current difficulty nets ~10.1 btc/day, this gives ~300btc for a month.  So I'd be paying 331 btc for the creation of >300 btc (less than 300 because difficulty will increase).  Am I missing something or is this really that pointless?

Also, people value "new" coins over old ones? are you serious?
34  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What is your current hashing capacity? on: April 23, 2011, 10:24:44 AM
2.5 Ghash/s currently, another 600Mhash will pop up next week.  So I'll be up at ~3.0-3.1 Ghash/s.

Current Hardware
2x6950 unlocked, watercooled @ 970mhz
5x5870 @850-900mhz
1x5770 Tongue

On the way
2x 5870

I think the poll my have been more informative if you broke up the 1Ghash to 10Ghash category.  I personally believe there is a pretty big difference between miners who pull 1Ghash and 10Ghash.  I would have done 1-5Ghash and 6-10Ghash.
35  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Miner slows down after 10 minutes? on: April 21, 2011, 09:24:27 PM
Yeah, I thought my cards were fine temp wise but apparently these non reference 5870s have lower throttling temps.  I sorted it out with some fans and such.
36  Bitcoin / Mining / Miner slows down after 10 minutes? on: April 21, 2011, 06:50:59 PM
I have a 5870 running poclbm and after about 10 minutes of mining it drops from ~315 Mhash/s down to ~230 Mhash/s.

I'm running Windows 7 32-bit with dual 5870s, the 2nd 5870 seems to be unaffected by this problem and runs full speed all the time.

Anyone else encountered this issue?
37  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5870 just delivered, any tips? on: April 21, 2011, 02:10:41 AM
Necro thread!

So, I moved my 5870 to a new computer, and the poclbm GUI says that I don't have any OpenCL devices on my computer. GPU caps viewer detects the stream 2.1 install I have, and says that I have stream 2.1. I'm not sure what to do at this point, since it worked perfectly on the last computer.
Do you have SP3 installed if this is Windows XP ?
Do you have at least one display or dummy plugged in each card ?

How does one get a "dummy plug" for a displays?  I have 2 5870s in a windows XP machine, but sadly it won't probably enable the secondary card unless a monitor is attached on startup.  I'd rather not have to attach a monitor when I turn it on, how can I get around this?
38  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Cooperative mining (160Ghash/s) on: April 21, 2011, 01:06:21 AM
Today's 1.1mil round was really crazy. Hope we will have better luck now Smiley.

All payments were processed before few minutes, I'm very sorry for troubles. I had suspect for some bug in the payment system, so I stopped transfers until some investigation. Automatic payments are turned on again.

Given the last few days of DDos attack, 1.1 mil rounds, payment system issues, I don't envy your job slush.

Again, thanks for the hard work Smiley
39  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Using pocblm to mine causes 10-100% CPU usage on: April 20, 2011, 07:20:36 PM
I get 100% core usage per instance of poclbm on Windows 7 64bit, My XP boxes don't have this problem.

I haven't checked my ubuntu box, I just got it up and running last night.

Any word on the payment issues?  I have quite a back up of coins stuck in there :/
