Como no quiero estropear el hilo de noticias, creo que sería buena idea de tener un hilo a parte para publicar comentarios sobre ellas. Sólo iba a decir que el "lema" de las bitcoin no es "confiamos en la criptografía", sino "fuerza en los números".  Vires in numeris. |

A kw is 1000 Joules in one second. If these 1000 joules was spent in two seconds, the power was 0.5 kw. A wkh is 3 600 000 joules (It's doesn't depend on time). If a card power is 500w, it takes a kwh in two ours, 12 kwh in a day. There is no such thing as killowatts / hour. What you often mean is kilowatt hours per hour. Which is the same as kilowatts True. A "Kilowatts / hour" measure could be refered as a "increase of power consumption in a certain time", like acceleration, speed and space. Of course, if someone talks about "kwh" is Kw × h, not kw / h. |

Ya, pero es que Bitcoin no es la única moneda que existe. Ni tan siquiera la única "cibermoneda". Si alguien se quiere hacer con muchas bitcoin, la gente se pasará a otras formas de pago, y cuando este quiera liberar las monedas, estas no tendrán popularidad.

Si alguien intentara comprar muchos BTCs al principio el precio de estos subiría mucho, pero luego caería a cero, porque la popularidad de la moneda bajaría mucho, ya que sólo la tendría el que la compra, y claro, perdería su dinero.

I wonder if the unexpected snow storm in the US with massive power outages will have an effect on the overall hashrate (and perhaps new difficulty?
Not, there are lots of people mining outside US. I think that the impact on difficulty was minimal. The difficulty is lowering because mining is not profitable, and is not a good idea to spend money on mining unless you have a great interest in BTC (It's not a good idea to mine BTC to earn $). Also, there are miners interested in BTC, that slow down their rigs to reduce the cost of mining. |

I thought I knew the password, so I probably have most of it and know the rough length. Can someone refer me to a program that will let me put in what I think I know and have it try similar things?
For example, vary capitalization and swap some character orders in all combinations.
I don't have much technical skill so a GUI would be great.
I am willing to pay to have someone hold my hand.
If a mod can move this to an appropriate section and/or whitelist me I'd much appreciate it.
It's not a bad idea to make a unencrypted backup in a medium that You don't need to use, for example, an old floppy. If You almost know your password, You can recover your money. |

I just got into bitcoins on Thursday, and a kind IRC chatter gave me 2 BTC for free. Me, being an idiot, lost it with online blackjack and coin toss games. Now I have 0.5 BTC and I'm trying to figure out a low-medium risk way to grow it to 1 or more BTC within a couple days or so.
Does anyone have any good ideas?
You can try to offer a online service. For example, "I can help you to fix your photos for 0.xx BTC". Small business. |

¿9 folios? Suficiente como para liar a la mayoría que quiera entenderlo.  De todas formas, hablo desde la casi ignorancia en cuanto a criptografía. Tienes que tener mucho cuidado y escribir bien tu direccion Bitcoin para no tener problemas. Si pones mal la dirección, falla, no se envía dinero, ya que la dirección lleva algunas comprobaciones, con lo que si cambias una letra, falla. Eso si, conviene copiar bien la dirección. |

¿Cómo podría detectar si tengo instalado un minador ajeno en mi ordenador? En el caso usar CPU es sencillo mediante el administrador de tareas, pero... ¿Y si es en la GPU? En mi caso no creo que sea problema, ya que soy poco jugón y mi GPU no admite OpenCL o CUDA, que yo sepa, pero aún así, me gustaría saberlo. |

Hay sitios web que "dan" bitcoins sin casi pedir nada a cambio. Uno es el bictoinfaucet, otro dailybitcoins, también está bitcoinflower... No necesitas instalar programas, registrarte en sitios, recibir correos...
Con paciencia se puede conseguir un poquito.
También hay otros que dan bitcoins, pero ya son "a cambio de", como hacer encuestas y todo eso. En uno de ellos me metí para ver como era, vi una encuesta y me puse a hacerla. En cuanto me preguntaron mis ingresos, cancelé, que eso no le importa a nadie, y no es que gane mucho o poco, es que soy estudiante, pero no me gusta ese tipo de preguntas.
En mi firma tengo enlazado un sitio de los que te dan un poquito pero no te piden nada a cambio.

 ?? Why is this an advantage? Sorry, that was a typo. You are claiming that if your production costs just breaking even, you should just buy coins instead because it will place upward pressure on the price. If everyone did this, the network would cease to exist. Upward pressure isn't what we need, it's stability and security. One way to achieve this is with production cost parity. People shouldn't be making money for doing jack shit. Where is the problem if lots of rigs cease their activity? Maybe It could be a opportunity for people who are interested in Bitcoin, not in speculation. The network will be stable, because it was stable in the early blocks. |

Hi, I've been running a bitcoin mine for around 6 month now with
50 5830. Since the price for bitcoin just drop below $3, the cost to generate a bitcoin
is too hight and no longer profitable. It is time to pull the plug and leave the party OR
I like the idea of bitcoin being an online currency and is time to find an alternative way.

Maybe You can try to build a render farm for some 3D applications like Blender. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Render_farmYou can sell the processing power for bitcoins. Another option is to sell all the stuff and recover some costs. |

Para el que conozca un poco el sistema monetario actual sabe que la forma por la que la banca a controlado siempre la emisión de moneda es gracias al crédito con interés.
Si se emite cierta cantidad de monedas y se prestan con un interés, pongamos, de una moneda mas al final de crédito no existirán tantas monedas para devolver todos los créditos y abra que crear nueva moneda o dejar que el sistema colapse.
Bien, este principio de funcionamiento extrapolado el BitCoin puede desencadenar en que si alguien comienza a prestar bitcoins cobrando un interés(cuando la moneda este suficientemente extendida no faltara gente que quiera pedir un préstamo para comprar algo) En poco tiempo terminara por acaparar todos los bitcoins ya que todo el que este endeudado necesitara conseguir una cantidad mayor de la que pidió para saldar la deuda. Eso terminaría con el sistema ya que al no poder emitirse mas bitcoins pasarían a estar todos en manos de muy pocas personas.
Como se puede evitar que se presten bitcoins con interés?
Antes de nada, soy "nuevo" en el foro, llevo algunos mensajes en el foro de usuarios nuevos. Bien, la solución al problema que dices sería que la gente no se cyberendeudara. Otra opción podría ser que se devolviera los intereses de la deuda en dinero "convencional", es decir, en Euros. |

The idea is not to rely on CPU speed, electricity or any other buyable resource.
Each person will be allowed to receive fixed credit, but only once per lifetime. 100 units for example. To ensure that person is real it has to authenticate with Facebook, Twitter or account of some other social network supporting OAuth.
I'm sorry, but I don't have "FacePalm" account. I don't like this social network.  Also, the number of Bitcoins is limited to 21 000 000. Each person of the world could have 21000000 / 7000000000 BTC, but... what happens if a new person born a bit latter? Ps: I don't like the current mining system based on GPU power instead of CPU power. |
