i havent posted here in months but i just wanted to take a moment to say that this has got to be the dumbest, most obviously scammy altcoin i havr ever seen. If anyone buys this useless, un-innovative scam, you deserve to lose every satoshi you put in.

Hello all! I know many of you have been wondering what happened to me. Besides getting ridiculously ill over the holidays, the new year has brought some exciting new opportunities to my plate. As it was, KittehCoin was originally going to be a fun vacation project, was going to need more people than I to maintain, and was going to need a proper community to maintain. Now, 2014's bringing projects the likes of which I've never seen which are going to challenge me to my limits and also increase my visibility to many highly-placed individuals. Needless to say this is all stuff I'm super-excited about. However, what it means for KittehCoin is that I'll no longer be able to participate on Kitteh as lead dev. I simply won't have the time, and my projects are of a nature that it would be best if I wasn't strongly associated with cryptocurrency... we all know that this is all in good fun, but many people still don't understand crypto and tend to react with suspicion and fear towards those that do. It's unfortunate, but it's the truth, and I cannot place any of what's coming onto my plate - or my company, partners, and JV partners - in jeopardy over a cat-themed altcoin. THAT'S ACTUALLY ALL GREAT NEWS! Y? Because several extremely talented individuals have committed to maintaining KittehCoin and following the original roadmap. What does this mean for KittehCoin? It's not going anywhere. Not now that there a whole TEAM of devs chugging away on the project.The dev lead? member dwasyluk. He's the man to contact from now on relative to any KittehCoin questions you might have. In fact, they're so talented that they are almost finished with a new client release - v0.8.6 with coin control! Take THAT, DOGE! Also FYI the roadmap hasn't changed. The new team will continue forward, making the client and coin stronger than it has ever been.[/b] I'm very glad that so many people are taking the reigns on this project. It would have been a shame to see Kitteh go. After all, she's got 9 lives, dontcha know?As for me, I'll return to being a contributor on this and other topics of interest here on bitcointalk, and am always glad to meet members over PM, especially other developers... The upcoming feature we are really, really excited about:Kittehcoin will (hopefully) be the first coin to extend sendtoaddress to integrate with Namecoin's nameid to enable the use of a single, unique, network-secured identity secured by the bitcoin network, which is easy to remember, as an alias for ALL coin transactions. Sort of like DNS for people and the currency baskets they hold. HAHA! TAKE THAT, ZOOKO! NameCoin broke yo triangle and Kitteh is purring! (see here for an explanation of the super-nerdy, cryptic reference to Zooko's Triangle and how Namecoin defeats Zooko's conjecture) Er, um, we digress.. basically, instead of a coin address you'll have an id/yourname address which will contain within it the actual addresses to your cryptocoins. So for example, on nameid, Kitteh is 'id/kitteh' and you then see my public data at https://nameid.org/?name=kitteh or by querying namecoind if you have it installed by typing: kittehcoind name_show id/kitteh Kitteh owns this identity, and nobody but kitteh can change its contents, which can include: an email address, a mailing address, a list of various cryptocurrency addresses, public PGP keys, etc). That's the real awesomeness of Namecoin - not just .bit domain names - and we will integrate this awesomeness into a coin client. BTW try fixing the windows client taskbar icon... still show DOGE icon  Kitteh HATES IT too, and commands me to do this ASAP - the new coin will be checked into github shortly for you compile-it-myself types, and binaries will become available as they get compiled this evening (first Linux, then OSX, then Windoze). Hai - you don't need to - go to https://github.com/kittehcoin/kittehcoinlook for a folder called release. Click on that mofo Look for a folder that matches your OS. Click it - click it real good. Download all files therein, store them in a single folder on your computer. Double-click kittehcoin-qt.exe (I'm going out on a limb and assuming you're on Windows.. if you're not, my apologies) Post back if you still can't get up and running. i don't understand github.. when i select the windows folder it shows 23000 KB but the folder is empty.. how can i download that ? the only thing there is is "view raw" |

You are 1000% right. I will do so now (well, in 5 - I got to have a smokey smoke first) - I mean heck, kitteh's got her damn catnip!! I would also make note by the pool link that even though it doesn't work correctly right now everyone will receive credit. Don't want people getting a bad impression from the pool. a BIG 10-4 on that.. although I thought that PPS was now working correctly? Are ppl still getting paid out those crappy 50 per block / not getting paid out? Looks like I'mma have to fork MPOS and fix me some pugs if that's the case. OR (og plz Gawd - I mean Kitteh) is anyone here a proficient at configuring MPOS? If you'd be willing to help me I'll happily pay out a bounty for that... anything to save me a bit o time - hoping to get the main website, wiki, and at least DICE and a block explorer up b4 the 26th. Awesome work lonestar106!!! I've been mining all day and have many meows tucked away into the wallet. I'm looking forward to your further work on Kittehcoin.
Thanks for the words of encouragement, Bradlu - I started this all out after laughing my ass off at Doge with a friend at, ahem, 4:20 recently, and the it hit me like a ton of bricks: The Internet loves cats The Internet loves bitcoin & altcoin Therefore, cats + alcoin is sure to = at least some good lulz We all need some right now after the whole China drama. Plus, it somehow feels more free to experiment with innovative features on a coin that cannot be taken too seriously after you look at the logo. I't be terrified to change a thing on a serious, stodgy altcoin, but heck, why not play here? I've been thinking about adding a 'jackpot block feature' - you have a 1 in 1000 chance, when you find a block, that your reward will be multiplied by 10x. Then after block 200000, the chance is 1 in 2000, but your reward is multiplied by 20x (or something like that). Any feedback on this idea? It would sure keep me mining until I scored a jackpot block I like the jackpot type incentive. But, I think it really works best when solo mining. Otherwise the jackpot gets diluted. I tried several times solo mining with the wallet and haven't yet been able to connect. Any suggestions? Yes!
