I fully understand the reasons for the newbie restrictions, but I have to admit that it sucks.

Only for a little while then everything is fine.
62  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: All these new BitCoin clones? Your opinions? on: October 26, 2011, 02:31:20 PM
Unless a lot of people/businesses start to accept the new currencies they have little chance to survive. Kind of like ebay the first catches on then others spring up for a short while then fade away from lack of interest so unless they get big acceptance fast they will not last.
63  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the best site to purchase bitcoins? on: October 26, 2011, 02:20:42 PM
I recently used https://get-bitcoin.com/
Pretty good.  I haven't had a problem.  However they cannot guarantee the BTC/USD price (it may be +- $0.05)

I used them for a small purchase and had no problems, can mail payment so there is no electronic paper trail.

Still too early, more time with sustained value in btc is needed before a fund would really be a viable option.
66  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Get-Bitcoin.Com: Reviews Thread on: October 26, 2011, 01:35:47 PM
Just bought about 34 btc, mailed payment about 24 hours after they received payment btc showed up in my wallet. Would use again.

Federal law trumps state law every time so they will have a hard time keeping this law on the books.

An easier wallet system that is still very secure, not everyone can put one in a special section of their hard drive.

I will trade coffee for bitcoins.

Do you have a website with a list of prices and types of coffee you carry?

I have a very simple website.  Don't know if the web address will work.  Give it a shot.

https://sites.google.com/site/aureumcoffeeroaster/

I will post a separate sale post in "Marketplace" - "Goods" forum.

Linked just worked for me, Thanks!!

It is best to stick to those that have been around for a while as there will end up being a long list of scams as people try to get in on the ground floor but will end up being the bag holders.
74  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin prices falling! on: October 19, 2011, 06:06:21 PM
It usually takes years for something like this to catch on, it took Paypal years even with ebays help to grow and this is much more complex since it is not just a way of making payments but a form of payment itself.

Unfortunately the more popular this gets the more scammers are going to come out of the woodwork, they always are looking for the next opportunity so you can never be to paranoid.
