KUDOS to the community for getting this thread back on track. With the ignored users, the refusal to take trolls bait, and the non quoting I've been able to read/enjoy the thread immensely over the last few day. Long may it continue.

"Strategic executives", "Strategic Angels" Exactly the reason to stay away from this. Satoshi would be turning in his bed/grave.
Make no mistake - these exec's are only interested in one thing. No prizes for guessing what...

Did mastternoes drop in number by 600-700? Weren't there like 2300 a while ago?
No, the network is just updating. This latest version has a bump in the protocol, so the counts will be off until everybody updates. I've relied on https://dashninja.pl/ but my newly update MN's aren't on there (guessing as a result of the above) Any other way check they are active/open etc? Yup. On the VPS do ./dashd masternode list | grep xx.xx.xx.xx If it returns your IP with : "ENABLED", you're gold. If not, there is a problem. Thanks folks. Would have been handy if I'd actually started my masternode..... "TAXI FOR FUNXYZEIT"

People have got to ask themselves 1 question only.
1. Do I believe in the project, the innovation, the dev team, the community and the FUTURE of the coin whatever the name ?
Yes? Great - we all have an affinity to darkcoin name but realise especially over the long term it's bigger than A Name.
No? Great - sell your coins. Thanks for the support and have a lovely life.
I'm definitely in the YES camp. The thought of looking back in 5 10 ,20 years and regretting a decision to dump my coins over a name change is certainly trumped by my belief in what I see as a real alternative to Bitcoin.
For what it's worth I wasn't initially taken by DASH . The GOTTA DASH mentioned a few posts ago has won me over though.

Hey Folks.
Is it possible Duffman" (oooohhhhh yyeaaaa) or proxy to update first page of this forum? Great info on there but is out of date eg "coming later in 2014 etc" I know first timers will see we are active (and how!) but if someone finds themselves on first page might be a put off if they see out of date info?
Just a suggestion!

Hey people. Setting up my masternode however on starting MN in wallet I'm getting "not capable masternode: Could not connect to <ipaddyofmvps>"
Checked settings and looks ok - defo right IP addy VPS is up and running and redone darkcoin conf setup on both vps and local pc.
Is this more likely to be a payment issue? Any ideas before I start again?
Your masternode might have banned your local wallet. Try this: 1) keep local wallet open 2) stop remote darkcoind (the one that is on vps) 3) remove peers.dat on vps 4) start remote darkcond and wait until it's live (gives you valid responses on getinfo or any other rpc command) 5) issue "masternode start" (or "masternode start-many" - depends on what guide you are following) from local wallet again Thanks for that. Unfortunately no joy. Getting same error on masternode start. It is though a wallet I had a masternode previously on (before I f*cked up and moved coins). Any other suggestions people? Most times when people have asked me about this particular error, it is due to the fact that there is no 1k vin. Did you send EXACTLY 1000DRK to the Masternode address? Any more, any less, it will not work. Sorted thanks Tao. Ended up ditching vps and restarting. Case of "Carefully RTFM" Thanks again for your help

Thanks Tao. Pity your guide doesn't consider dip sh*ts like myself...
I did send. Though I could try again? Would I have to generate new masternode key/addy or could I simply resend to MN addy?

Greeting from a wet and grey Ireland... New to the community (couple of weeks) - about to set up my second MN. First one working like a charm thanks to Tao's guide. Amazed by the effort both in terms of dev work and online presence (Tao/Tungfa etc). Equally impressed that any attempts by FUDsters just seems to galvanise the community even more. Just a generic (probably stupid) Q. With the MN rewards scheme going higher % wise - at some, when difficulty increases, will it not detract miners from...well mining? Would it make sense that MN rewards decrease in future if it results in the overall health of DRK?

New/Latecomer here. What a phenomenal project. Researching drk over last few weeks and started my (first) MN yesterday. It's like Bitcoin on steroids
I already feel more involved in the project than in my 3+ years in BTC.
Thought this quote was very apt for crypto in general and darkcoin specifically:
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. Mahatma Gandhi
