261  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction: Bitcoin will hit 100K on: March 08, 2018, 09:37:47 AM
By the end of 2017 bitcoin looked much healthier than now (price reached 20k) now we are 50% down. There is no more hype like before, and fud is more common. Lot of negative news around btc, different hacks on exchanges so we will be happy with 15K at the end of 2018. To me this looks like a year of bear......downtrend is going to continue.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is hodling alts dangerous? on: March 08, 2018, 09:34:26 AM
Holding anything can be risky but alt coins are more than that. All alt coins depend on btc (when btc goes up their value rises) but when btc goes down the value of alts sink heavily. So often there are alts which carry interesting new ideas but often lack the key feature of bitcoin. it is well known as network effect.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Nervous for Elixir! (price Spec) on: March 07, 2018, 04:53:30 PM
Ive been a big fan of elixir and think the devs are doing a great job but the price is volatile and keeps dropping now and i dont have shaky hands and I definitely wont pull my money out of this project but I was wondering what are your guys's expectations for elixirs price at the end of 2018?

pretty much undervalued coin but not surprise since the team is not investing enough funds in marketing. however project has a huge potential. According to their roadmap we are going to see an app through the ethereum blockchain to test its basic functionality.......so more patience fellas.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: why is the crypto market down day after day? on: March 07, 2018, 01:10:53 PM
Whenever I check coinmarketcap, everything is in red:

I don't see any FUD, why is this happening?

reasons are obvious and simple: 1. no influx of fresh money (slow or delayed registrations of new users on some exchanges 2. we need more regulations 3. exchanges need to be more transparent and pay more concerns for own users.
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple: A long term investment or short term? on: March 07, 2018, 08:45:09 AM
there is no positive future for ripple, lot of hype in 2017 to attract masses but not it is struggling badly. Technology behind xrp is different and it represents centralized coin, 6 mighty banks decide upon the future of the coin. I can only hope to see it 3-5$ value but is will be xrp ath.
266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin be used to support terrorists? on: March 07, 2018, 07:37:32 AM
Oh no i heard this story once again. sounds to me like nonsense because I can't believe that terrorists have banks and atm machines in Raqqa or some other cities. So if somebody sends them coins in what way they are going to convert it for cash. no logic. anyway those guys are not very smart and I can't imagine them using wallets and exchanges somewhere in the dessert while bullets are flying by.
267  Economy / Economics / Re: wait for bitcoin prices to go up on: March 07, 2018, 07:32:34 AM
we cannot expect bull run for those reasons: 1.no secure btc exchanges (where you can keep funds safely), on exchanges it is extremely risky. 2. if we consider btc a human then tether is his blood (big problem) since there is no provision for printed tether  3. monkeys who control everything and mainly influx of new/fresh money  (to reach 100K we need lot cash inserted in crypto markets).  4. alts and ico (wild markets must be shut down because people lose their dollars in quick fashion) this is done by manipulators who think only of their pockets. they damage crypto systems heavily.
268  Economy / Economics / Re: wait for bitcoin prices to go up on: March 06, 2018, 09:15:23 PM
I am far from being optimistic for BTC. price dipped today 7%,  once again 11,800$ appeared as a bogyman. worst case that it dips below 10,500$ and really looks like we are far from uptrend. if it goes below 10,5K then we will witness another bear and we can forget 11 and 12K in near future.
269  Economy / Economics / Re: why do people agree to pay taxes? on: March 06, 2018, 04:23:37 PM
By some logic if you pay tax then you can hope for healthy environment. We all dream of creation of safe and stable environment in which people can live. in practice taxation is not fair enough, still some parts receive less taxation from the wealthy hoods. Disparities are visible everywhere and they are evidence of poor governments. to sum up people tend to believe in more safe environment by paying taxes.
270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fear of bitcoin on: March 06, 2018, 02:14:54 PM
I don't have any fear for btc because cryptos are our future (if btc fail then some other advanced coins will show up). Biggest problem are fudsters like professor Kenet Rogof (Hardward professor who claims that btc will drop to 100$ in the next ten years). He is only finding the bond of btc with money laundry and avoiding tax (overall illegal transactions). Universities need more intelligent people for sure.
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Spectrecoin is dying on: March 06, 2018, 11:47:59 AM
Spectre will take off in the coming months. first we need more patience and wait for new wallet version. when you compare spectre both technically and financially to other major privacy coins you can see some positives. to me it looks more sophisticated to other privacy coins.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [ELIX] Elixir - Speculation & Discussion on: March 06, 2018, 07:31:51 AM
Personally I don't expect some near future pump for elix. the coin was pumped hard last year and looks now dumped. Just one of many cheap coins with low market cap and supply. when you read more about it then it looks undervalued. let's hope for quick rise.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future of DogeCoin on: March 06, 2018, 07:25:58 AM
Dogecoin is an interesting coin but it could reach 0.1 $ max at the end of 2019.. Main problems are: confusing development roadmap which leads further to insecure future of the whole project. Some other coins look more prosperous right now.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum TO $400 AGAIN on: March 05, 2018, 06:46:13 PM
I read some news that Ethereum will get back to 400 dollars.

Do you think these rumors are real? I tend to think yes and I think this will happen soon.

To be well understood, I believe in Ethereum's potential (even though so far I have lost money investing in Ethereum, but I notice that it is still a good project and this will makes it to explode one day) and I still believe that by the end of 2018 it will have an increase of thousands of dollars, but at the same time I feel that it will drop much more than it is now before starting the growth again.

disagree with you on this prediction. somehow all geeks expect steady growth of all coins throughout the summer then in October boom again. looking on many different factors Ethereum is setting up for an upward move to $900.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange or Wallet? on: March 05, 2018, 11:48:30 AM
I have a question.

What is better? To keep your coins on some Exchange site or to open wallets for each coin?

I would like to hear some advice.  What are pros & cons of each option?

Thanks

there is no big doubt in such a question, if you prefer long term trading/holding then chose the desktop wallet or even better hard wallet. But if you tend to participate/earn in daily tradings then you need all your crypto on some well established exchange. Also some exchanges have support for numerous coins (comes handy always).
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: monero price in future on: March 05, 2018, 11:43:52 AM
One of my favorite alt coins, simply does everything Bitcoin is supposed to do. Just to state that Monero performs faster, cheaper, with way more anonymity and without all the crazy drama. Guess it can hit 500$ this year, maybe even 600 but lot to depend on btc movement...
277  Economy / Economics / Re: Do bitcoin millonaires deserve their wealth? on: March 05, 2018, 08:05:29 AM
why are people so jealous on those "btc millionaires"Huh!!! those guys just did better/smarter when it really mattered. They took certain risks when nobody believed in cryptocurrencies (including bitcoin). don't forget it is not just their risk but huge amount of money they invested. In my eyes they deserved own success....... most of us missed that early opportunity.
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Bitcoin on: March 05, 2018, 08:02:11 AM
should be a good for bitcoin since more and more companies are accepting btc and other currencies as a payment methods. Btc has ability to undo banks at some point as well. pros: limited number of coins (different to centralized systems like banks......they can print more money anytime).
279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is holding bitcoin Greedy? on: March 05, 2018, 07:57:39 AM
Holding bitcoins in safe place is not greedy but rather an investment in possibly brighter future. Being greedy means that folks want to invest cca 1000$ and then to become millionaires which is not reasonable thinking. worst part is there are more and more people like that.
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: March 04, 2018, 03:32:28 PM
gulden is making a steady progress. clean rise is visible not affected in recent days by major pumps and dips of other markets. Once Gulden is adopted as a payment method, this coin's price will skyrocket. It can reach 20-30$ value in the 2018.
