581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Satoshi Needs to Reveal His Identity ? on: November 04, 2022, 10:30:52 PM
There are so many people in the Bitcoin Talk Forum who have interest to discover the true identity of the Bitcoin and Blockchain inventor. Also there are few who oppose the matter, that Satoshi Nakamoto must not reveal his identity.

I am so much confused regarding matter. So I think, it would be better to arrange a concensus about the identity of the Bitcoin and Blockchain inventor.
Why does Satoshi need to reveal his identity? If he decided not to reveal his identity, then respect his decision. He probably have his reasons and I am sure those reasons are pretty much valid. Some people want to know the identity of Satoshi because they are curious. Other oppose it because they believe that if Satoshi reveals his identity, people will look at him as a "leader". A decentralized network cannot have a leader!

The members of this forum can vote for themselves and it will be helpful for Satoshi Nakamoto to make a correct discussion.
You mean helpful to make a correct decision? No one has to vote or anything. Satoshi can make his own decisions. Like he has decided to keep his identity a secret, he can also make the decision to reveal his identity and no one can say anything or stop him.
582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do think that POGO should be declared as legal or Illegal ? on: November 04, 2022, 04:12:36 AM
A gambling platform headquartered in the Philippines called Philippines Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO) provides gambling, betting, and E-casinos outside of the nation. Many POGO companies operate legally in the Philippines by submitting license applications to PAGCOR, but some people run POGO illegally, which is why many legal offshore gaming operations are branded as illegal. If the government shuts down this operation, many Filipinos will lose their jobs and the Philippine economy will suffer a loss of several billion pesos.

https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1672432/pogos-not-linked-to-illegal-online-gaming-says-pagcor

In my opinion, the POGO sector helps many Filipinos meet their basic needs and stimulates the economy, but having so many unlicensed offshore gambling establishments will harm the Philippines government's reputation.
I thought you said POGO is already legal? How can they declare POGO legal if they are already legal? Or are you saying they are unregulated and they should be regulated and made fully legal?  Also little confused over here, how do they run POGO illegally if the main purpose of POGO is to, according to you, operate outside the nation legally? You seem to have mixed up something here.

Also banning won't fix anything. Those who operate those casinos illegally won't be affected by the ban at all. They will still continue with their operation. Only those who are trying to operate their casino legally will be affected by the ban. Instead of causing damage to the whole industry, better to hunt those down who run illegally, make them pay hefty fines and if they wish to continue, operate legally with a license.
583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling winner identity on: November 04, 2022, 03:45:47 AM
I don't think it is fine to keep secrets from your wife. Secrets won't stay secret forever and eventually she will find out. It is at that moment she will feel betrayed and will hurt her a lot. I would say the man just made an excuse by saying that his wife and children would get lazy. If he so worried that the money might affect them negatively, why not just donate most of the winnings and keep enough for them so they can lead a modest life without any worrying? I bet he wouldn't want to do that.
584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin should I invest in other than bitcoin? on: November 04, 2022, 03:38:27 AM
Invest most of your coins in bitcoin first! If you are looking for other coins too, then try investing in one of those top 10 well known coins. Less risk, but still riskier than investing in bitcoin. Don't go for random altcoins that people shill for. You will very likely end up with losing everything. You can try some random altcoins, but make sure not to invest a lot. And also do your own research before making any investments. Look for coins that have good potential and invest in those. Keep yourself always updated with the current market situation.
585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbie trading believe on: November 04, 2022, 12:29:23 AM
Hard to understand what you actually wrote here but I am guessing that you are saying that newbies join the market, starts trading and expects to get rich the next day, right? You are correct. Most of them thinks that crypto currencies will make them rich over night. They go all in, they see the market go down or trade without knowing what they are doing, they end up losing everything and starts spreading negative news about crypto currencies. All new traders should learn the market first and know what they are doing. And "strategies" won't always help you make profits. You will sometimes make losses, but if you are careful, you will know how to cut your losses short.
586  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is this not shilling but information sharing? on: November 03, 2022, 03:21:47 AM
Is it possible that all those crypto influencers we know and hear stuffs about could face market manipulation charges under new regulation law that's coming? ...

Is there popular word ' Not a Financial Advice' not enough to safe them from what's coming?

Since they warned people about doing their own research too, isn't this enough to break them free?
You can say it is "not a financial advice" when you are "sharing information" or giving your opinions. But if you are paid to do this, you must disclose that you are getting paid or else you face a risk of getting into legal troubles. It is because people must know that you are advertising and you are getting paid for promoting the crypto project or anything similar. This helps people to be aware that whatever they are listening to it is bullshit and all biased information.
587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bear Market More Important Than the Bull Market? on: November 02, 2022, 10:31:21 PM
You don't have to rely or depend on bear and bull market. None of them are bad. We need both for a healthy market growth. Bear market helps more investors to join the crypto market. The more the price goes down, the more new and existing investors will be willing to invest and hold for long term. When the bull market takes place, old investors will likely exit by selling their coins and taking the profit and wait for the next bear market to maximize the profit. But none of them is actually important. The most important thing is you making the decision when to invest. Doesn't matter if it is a bear or the bull  market, if you have money lying around and you can afford to invest (and lose everything), then just go ahead, invest and hold.
588  Economy / Economics / Re: Why exactly did Elon want to buy Twitter? on: November 02, 2022, 04:31:45 AM
Seems it’s official. However I am puzzled as to why he bought it in the first place.

For one he overpaid for it because looking at tech stocks like Facebook, it’s value would be probably less than $20 a share compared to the $54.20 he paid for it. So he really must have a big interest in it.

Anyone know why? Is it because they banned Trumps account? Is it because it’s censored too much and he wants it to be more decentralized ?

He bought it because he wants freedom speech. I doubt he is looking for money. I doubt even more that it was because trump was banned from twitter. But if he does manage to somehow make it popular, there is money for him. He might be able to remove censorship, but it will still remain centralized. By the way, he is going to charge monthly fee for verified blue tick user. Highly likely he is going to accept crypto payments. If he does, that's a plus one for us.

It seems that the purchase had a political background, yes. People who have those levels of money are no longer driven by money so much as by power:

Elon Musk ‘fires Twitter executive’ who banned Trump as speculation mounts he could return to platform

In addition, it is quite likely that Trump will run for president again in 2024. So it all adds up.

That article is just a click bait. Biased media. Biased title. Of course he is going to fire all those that "failed" twitter and wanted censorship. Why would he keep someone employed at the top level who supported and made the previous twitter policies?

590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bear market Survivals on: October 29, 2022, 04:41:03 PM
Your post doesn't make much sense, but I am assuming that you are trying to say that any coins that survived the bear season is going to do great in the bull market? Isn't that obvious? Most of the coins that are has good reputation, actively being developed, has good use cases and utilities has and will survive every bear market. Only coins that are meme coins (except for some), clone coins and shitcoins are the ones that gets wiped out during a bear market. Keep holding those top well known coins and invest more during a bear market. You will make some excellent profit in the long run. Avoid coins that are hyped or related to memes if you would like to take less risk.
591  Other / Archival / Re: Most investors think regulation is a good thing on: October 29, 2022, 04:27:09 PM
They do think regulation is a good thing because it will help more business to legally and more easily accept bitcoin. But I bet most of those investors are also those people that are super rich, has power and prefers centralization because it helps them to keep more power to themselves. They are scared that once decentralization takes place, they will lose control of everything which hamper them more from building their wealth. Most of those investors are very likely market manipulators. If everything becomes truly decentralized, market manipulation won't be as easy as it is right now.
592  Economy / Speculation / Re: Every signal is a speculation on: October 29, 2022, 04:06:47 PM
All of them are speculations. No one can predict the market accurately. Anyone that claims that they signals are accurate, are most likely lying and trying to sell you something. Happens a lot in those "paid signal" groups. They give free obvious signals first, they build trust, and then they sell you "premium signals". All those signals that they give you are already available publicly. This is just another form of scamming. And then there are signal groups that pump and dump shitcoins. Join them and you will end up being a victim!
593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Two-edged sword for countries that banned Bitcoin on: October 29, 2022, 03:47:59 PM
Only few countries but a ban on using or holding bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as far as I am aware. And most of them are poor countries and/or countries with very high corruption rate. They fear that people will use bitcoin for illegal purpose (the irony here) and they won't be able to stop them. And also what surprises me the most is that all of those country keeps on saying that they do it to "protect their citizen". Lol, sounds more like they do it to keep their citizens under their control. Wouldn't be surprised if one day they learn that their government was using bitcoin to launder money and put a ban so no one suspects them.

1. The government cannot earn through Bitcoin in terms of investments, taxes and others.
2. The citizens would be deprived of the fortunes attached to Bitcoin when they own it or do investments with it.
3. The citizens would be deprived of employment that could be paid through Bitcoin only, especially online.
4. They will be forced to embrace fiat with high transaction fees and a slow time of completing most international transactions, unlike Bitcoin.
5. The investors' confidence will slightly be affected since many companies dealing with Bitcoin will not be able to thrive under such conditions, so they go elsewhere.
6. Setback in blockchain and the technology attached to it when countries are yearning for advancement etc.
These are all excuses. I doubt they even bother to learn anything about blockchain and crypto currencies.
594  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is hodling top 10 Marketcap coins a good tactic? on: October 29, 2022, 03:23:38 PM
You have already answered your own question. As you can see, if you held the top 10 coins for long term you would have ended up with some very good profit. The only year that performed worst when compared to the previous year, is this year, but as long as you aren't selling and you keep holding and investing, you will be making more profit. Compared to the price a decade ago, you are still in profit. But yeah, you have to keep yourself updated. Look how the top 10 changes a lot with only bitcoin and ethereum which remained unbeaten. This once again proves that all other altcoins are much more riskier to invest when compared to investing in bitcoin or ethereum.
595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hidden Gems on: October 29, 2022, 03:05:50 PM
You need to find it yourself. Asking here, people will only suggest you shitcoins and shill for coins that they have invested in. I can already see people suggesting you some random meme coins. Meme coins aren't any "hidden gem". They get pumped and then they will eventually get dumped, with the result being you losing everything you have invested. Its rare to find coins that will give you good gains and won't end up scamming people. Too much risk involved, and most of the time you will unknowingly invest in those scams. Why not just invest in bitcoin and some of the top altcoins and hold them for as long as you can?
596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler who betrayed his friend's trust on: October 29, 2022, 03:02:05 PM
If you are saying this is a real story that you heard, then you might be stupid to believe this. There is no state were you can live in a "big house" and lead a luxurious style with only $120k. You won't even be able to afford a house with that amount of money, let alone leading a lavish life. If the first guy used and deposited his money too in the account, he can just report it to the cops saying that his money was stolen. It wouldn't be hard for the cops to find him (unless the guy plans to escape the country which again is impossible with only $120k).
Anyway, you shouldn't blindly trust anyone. Money changes people!
597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will cryptocurrency replace other currencies? on: October 29, 2022, 03:15:39 AM
I doubt crypto currencies would replace any other currencies anytime soon. Maybe after few decades, but not yet. Crypto currencies are still in their early stage and needs a lot of improvement before they can actually be used as a regular currencies. None of the coins out there is perfect enough to be used as a currency for making day to day transactions. Right now people prefer holding the coins because of the potential profit they can gain in the future. And do we really want crypto currencies to replace fiat currency? What's wrong with using both?

Looks like you are trying to promote a token. Make a proper announcement thread or people will think you are shilling/promoting for a shitcoin.
598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A lottery's defense to not paying a huge winning. on: October 29, 2022, 03:05:38 AM
That is not called "defense", it is called scamming. If the casino denies to pay the winners and find excuses not to pay, then the casino is scamming their players. I doubt a legit casino would do anything like this because all it would do is hurt their reputation. They would be making more if they stay legit.

If the casino thinks that there are "irregularities" and the player is cheating, then the casino should show them the proof and confiscate the funds. If they can't prove what they are accusing the player of, they should pay the player.
599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino with an online and offline branch. on: October 29, 2022, 02:13:18 AM
I don't think there are any land based crypto casino. Not that I have heard of. Likely due to legal reasons we don't see any land based crypto casino. Even if they are legal and do exist, I doubt an online casino would want to start a land based casino. That would be too much work and then again, even if they do really good online, there is no assurance they would be performing well in a land based casino. Online casinos are almost global, but land based casinos are restricted to players based on where the casino is situated. They are better off focusing on their online casino by adding new games and keeping it updated.
600  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling techniques on: October 29, 2022, 01:45:07 AM
-snip-
I often use the stake doubling technique to several games. I normally do this with dice games and if it played correctly its profitable. What you have to do is simply start with a small stake and every time you lose you double your steak until you win. Once you win, you will recover all the amount you lost. This works if you have enough money to keep doubling your bet, so you should do your math and check with how much you should start. It is not infallible but it works.

The strategy that you use is called martingale strategy. You keep on doubling your bet until you win and then go back to your base amount bet. The strategy may sound very simple and fool proof, but it isn't. You are still risking equally. The more you lose, the faster you will get wiped out. Unless, you have infinite balance, you will lose in the long run due to the house edge.
