1  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe is against Libra. Who else? on: October 06, 2019, 02:42:40 PM
There is a lot of institutions that are against Libra and I don't think that Libra will become successful since a lot of media and government are against to Libra. The latest news is Paypal is backing out from supporting Libra by not attending their assembly meeting and that is an unhealthy sign for Libra since Paypal is one of the biggest financial service in the world. In my honest opinion, Libra's situation will get worse and I think it is not worth it to invest in Libra like having a node of it.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what is the difference between staking and mining??? on: October 06, 2019, 09:15:52 AM
The different between staking and mining is pretty simple and it is the cost. The cost of mining is a lot because you need to buy a lot of expensive equipment and you also need to maintain and pay for more expensive electricity bill every month and after those expenses that is only the time you will get your net profit while staking is just simply buying a cryptocurrency that is POS and then keeping it on the wallet that support its staking and that is how you are going to get reward or profit.

In my opinion, staking is more practical because it will cost you less compare to mining and staking is not hard to maintain because you just need to make sure that your wallet is up to date to make sure that you will not miss any rewards.
3  Economy / Reputation / Re: List of banned participants in the Cryptotalk Campaign on: October 06, 2019, 08:35:29 AM
Cryptotalk Signature campaign participant Babylon - account has been sold or hacked.

Babylon's comments before 2016 are proving that the original owner of the profile is from the United States:

looking to sell 75 bitcoins for $1000, you cover the western union fees to get the money to me.  I'll also happily take cash if you are close enough to me to make that happen.  I am in Eastern Ohio.

I have 19 years experience reading professionally.  I can read for you over the phone, via e-mail, via a chat program such as yahoo or MSN, via a voicechat program like skype, or face to face if you are in my area (SE Ohio)

For long distance readings I charge .05 BTC per card for text or per minute for voice.  This is subject to change as bitcoin values fluctuate but that's the price for the moment.

In the post history of the account Babylon was a 3-years break. And the following comments are showing that this profile passed into the hands of some Filipino man:

Matagal bago mo mabawi yung capital mo.

I don't know what is your problem with sold account but base from the rules of our forum, account sales are 'allowed'. So what is the big deal if the original owner of this account is from the US and now it is passed to another owner? As long as there is a clean transaction, no scam, then there is no way for you to just put a red tag in an account just because it is 'sold or transferred to another owner.' Get over yourself.

Link of rules: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.820#post_rules

NOTE: This is meant to serve as a reference/educational/informational thread, NOT a rock solid list of rules.

18. Having multiple accounts and account sales are allowed, but account sales are discouraged.
4  Economy / Economics / Re: If the government supports bitcoin instead of the existing currency. on: April 21, 2019, 11:15:07 PM
It will lead to a chaotic country if the government will support bitcoin instead of the fiat currency because bitcoin doesn't have a fixed value and it might cause chaos because people will be complaining about the value of their bitcoin and also about to their expenses because they might spend a hundred dollar now and tomorrow it might cost them two hundred dollar worth of bitcoin.
5  Economy / Economics / Re: If you had 10000$ on: April 21, 2019, 10:33:08 PM
DYOR is the key. My rule of thumb is don't expect a 100x gain in major altcoins in the short term. Try to find a good altcoin which is relatively new and check out its graph. Check out the supply and try to predict it is future market cap in 1-2 years. Try to invest it at the most bottom point you can find.
I agree that is a good strategy in investing your money. Doing some research first is a good start because you will have an overview of the market and you will see the possible altcoin investment that you can try and you should also look at the chart and do some basic technical analysis to make sure that you will be buying at the support and not on near resistance's price.
6  Economy / Economics / Re: What should you do in bearish market? on: April 21, 2019, 09:15:23 AM
When others are selling during the bearish market, you should do the opposite of it. You should keep on buying coins that you know that is good for long term holding. Bearish market is the best time to buy coins that has a high profit margin. There is a saying that says that the crisis comes with opportunities and we can apply that in trading/investing.
7  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing in Bitcoin in 2019? on: April 21, 2019, 08:52:11 AM
It is a great idea to invest money in bitcoin this year of 2019. The price of bitcoin is moving up and i hope that this will continue. I already get myself in bitcoin a few weeks ago, i bought half of bitcoin and i am targeting to get more bitcoin before the month of may ends. Investing is all about patience and perseverance to hit a certain target.
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin really stabilize any country's economy level? on: April 21, 2019, 08:42:10 AM
Bitcoin is volatile and i don't think that there is a chance for bitcoin to stabilize any country's economy level because there is no chance for bitcoin to help the economy of a country because its price itself is not stable. Bitcoin can just help the country to have an option for investment but in the sense of stabilizing their economy level then there is no chance for that.
9  Economy / Economics / Re: what will happens if everyone has own currency, doesn't a bad for Economics ? on: April 21, 2019, 08:32:12 AM
If everyone makes their own currency like you said, then each one of those currencies will be worthless. Who's going to want to take your currency when they have their own?

100% correct. Right now we have more than 10,000 altcoins and tokens in existence (this number includes forked coins). Most of them are not even listed in coinmarket.com and are not traded actively. If everyone produce their own coins, then the situation will not be much different. The vast majority will die out in a week or two.
Most of the altcoins are just trash. These developers keep on creating altcoins and advertising it like it does make sense for the people to buy but in the reality it is just a useless coin for the people to buy and once they get enough money from selling these altcoins, they will just leave it and add it to the collection of trash altcoins.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can REGULATION Really Be Beneficial to Bitcoin? on: April 21, 2019, 08:22:10 AM
Regulation can be beneficial to bitcoin because it will help bitcoin to get more people into its cryptocurrency space because people will trust bitcoin more because they know that it is regulated and they will no longer believe to the people who are keep on saying that bitcoin is a scam and it is not a good investment.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we not abusing decentralization? on: April 21, 2019, 08:12:18 AM
There is no such thing as abuse of decentralization, if in the first place bitcoin was made with decentralization. If there is anyone who abuses power here, I think it is the people who requires unannounced KYC in order to receive the bounties. Decentralization in cryptocurrency is just normal.

I would second that. There were instances when I was denied the rewards after my refusal to undergo last-minute KYC. Rather than using it to remove the scammers, nowadays KYC is widely used to cheat bounty hunters of their hard-earned rewards.
I see KYC as a good way to avoid abuse or cheating. KYC are good for bounty hunters because they know that there is a fairness in the bounty campaign such as signature campaign, social media campaign and so on because it is like having more chance of getting a higher reward because there is no way that a person can cheat in KYC since they need to submit some documents.
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: Realistic Predictions for Bitcoin? on: April 21, 2019, 07:32:52 AM
We all have different perspective about the future of bitcoin and for the possible price movement. There is no right or wrong for the insights for bitcoin since they are just all predictions. I suggest for you to seek knowledge for yourself so you will have nothing to worry about because you will know how to analyze bitcoin and predict that will be enough for yourself to believed at.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fun stuff to do with bitcoin? on: April 21, 2019, 07:22:21 AM
I don't think if this is going to be counted as a fun stuff or thing to do with bitcoin but it is fun for me to use bitcoin for trading. A lot of people are just investing and holding bitcoin but for me, i want a more challenging stuff which is trading and because the market is open 24/7 then there is no problem for me to trade whenever i want. I enjoy doing this and at the same time, i make money.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A city in Canada is letting people pay taxes in Bitcoin on: April 21, 2019, 06:42:40 AM
It is a good way for exposure, i guess. Offering payment method for bitcoin is one of the way to spread awareness that beside the fiat currency, we have other option like bitcoin where people could use to pay things and also as an investment that can give them a lot of earnings that is higher than the usual investment vehicle.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TOP suggestions for someone who's thinking of buying BTC? on: April 21, 2019, 06:14:18 AM
My thoughts are aligned with the thoughts of the author. Just like the previous comments the most important part when investing in cryptocurrency is having a good understanding of what cryptocurrency is. It will be useless to buy a certain coin if you really dont understand how the market works, how to purchase and sell it. Cryptoccurency means business, it means money if you do not have a single knowledge about it then you are just throwing away your money on the trashcan.

In short you need to understand:

1. The concept and technology
2. The market

If you know what you are getting into, you will have a successful investment. Understanding the investment first before putting any money is a must for good investors because knowledge is the key for a successful investor and that is why a lot of investor are not stopping from learning, they keep on studying possible theories that they can use or utilize for their own strategy.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin could be used to pay for Bills, load and for travel in the Philippines on: April 21, 2019, 05:53:01 AM
Here in the Philippines we could use our local wallet called coins.ph to buy load pay for our electric, water and credit card bills and even book for travel.

I hope this will happen also in the whole asian nation because philippines is more luckier than any other country in asia for having a government in which neutral to cryptocurrency and bitcoin can be bought and accumulate in many areas, with ATMs installed in strategic locations, with wallets in local forms that can convert fiat to crypto and crypto to fiat.and some stores that can buy also bitcoin one of luckiest
You are right, we hope that this will happen not only to whole asia continent but also for the whole world because having these kind of features for using bitcoin is an awesome thing to have. Just imagine having this for the whole world then that would be awesome because the whole world can start being cashless because of this features.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Trader Brutally Tortured on: April 21, 2019, 05:42:53 AM
This is really making me worried.

I mean we are investors of a cryptocurrency and we all know that Bitcoin also has a feature of anonymity and if that already happen, what more to people that don't usually know how to secure their wallet and even their identity? We should really be careful with the information we are sharing on the internet, it could be really dangerous if people know our information. We are not just putting ourselves in danger but also our loved ones.
I don't think that the anonymity of bitcoin is involved here. Maybe the suspect was close to his place or one of his friends that he knew that this guy is making a lot of money and because of the jealousy for the money, he tortured this bitcoin trader for hoping that he will get his money and all of his bitcoin because we all know that 1 bitcoin is worth a lot of money.
18  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks against the crypto on: April 20, 2019, 06:47:28 AM
They are against the cryptocurrency because they know that the people are now losing interest in banks because they are not satisfy anymore to the interest and also to the offers of the banks while the cryptocurrencies are offering a higher interest for their money in terms of profit making by just investing in a decentralized cryptocurrency like bitcoin.
19  Economy / Economics / Re: Will 2019 take us to Moon or Mars? on: April 20, 2019, 06:35:38 AM
2019 will definitely takes us to the divine! 2019 is showing a good movement for the price of bitcoin after the correction of the market back in 2018. I am now averaging my investment by investing regularly in the market and hoping nothing but the best for the market to succeed and breaks the $10,000 mark and soar high again.
20  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you need cash for everyday use? on: April 20, 2019, 06:25:56 AM
Here in my country, we really need cash for everyday use but even though there are merchants that are accepting cashless payments, it is still not enough for us to go cashless because the majority of the stores are still preferring cash instead of cashless payment but i think in the future, with the influence of bitcoin and other cashless payment options, it will make us cashless.
