1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [Metiscoin] [MTS] Unique algorithm | NO PREMINE| NEW POOL! CPU/GPU on: April 11, 2014, 07:22:23 PM
I agree with the Metiscoin blogging community, I've been working hard at staying active on the metiscoin.org forums. My user name there is Alex so you know. I will never give up on this coin until it officially dies (not a hint of soon to be death, but death it's self). I knew there was a reason I didn't dump all my coin.

We need to build something like The Bitcoin Foundation for Metiscoin. In order for this coin to thrive there needs to be groundswell. We could perhaps use Metiscoin.org as the Official site for distro, and also as a place to list Metiscoin Organization board members. And Metiscoin.com as a simple public face to entice users.

"The Metiscoin Organization" ("The M.O." for short) would be a pun on Modus Operandi a Latin phrase, approximately translated as "method of operation". We could use it as a spot for giveaways, I have a few MTS I could part with, and we could develop a way to use MTS for charity.

We could have seven leaders on the Metiscoin Organization. This could help spread the word on Metiscoin!

Dev: syswt
Director: Currently Unfilled
Inside director: Currently Unfilled
Outside director: Currently Unfilled
Executive director: Currently Unfilled
Non-executive director: Currently Unfilled
Shadow director: Currently Unfilled

The duties of each would be completely different and we could discuss how to go about it. That would leave syswt free to develop the coin, and a Metiscoin Organization with the ability to build the coin. Such as contacting more pool operators, exchanges, advertisers, and other such individuals.

Contact me back with more info, we could add a bit of needed cohesiveness to this coin. Let's do this.

We can do this! Perhaps you can get into contact with Girino and other active MTS users to see if they'd like to help. I know I'd throw my hat into the ring for one of The Metiscoin Organization board members.

They have removed Metis from poloniex!!!!  Cry

If your referring to it being missing from the front page, it was just a glitch.

Busoni was contacted and MTS is back on the front, also, it's moved up a spot.

So, I've got control of metiscoin.com now, from the dev.  I would like to build up a Metiscoin blogging community.

Anyone out there with professional journalism and blogging history? Contact me via PM. We can help build this coin's community together!
So they dumped all their coins and now are vanishing? Cool.

No, I wouldn't be a part of something like that. Their wasn't a premine of this coin.

I'm trying to recruit professionals to generate groundswell. I've been working in web media for years, we're gonna do this thing up right. Metiscoin has a lot of potential, time to accelerate towards that.

The dev and I have been in contact, this coin is alive and kicking.

Lol, GPU miner has been released. My 2 metiscoins mined in a week with my CPU aren't worth a damn at 3k sat.

MTS is currently underpriced, the coin is so low volume that a single BTC whale can pump/dump the coin.

If we could raise 5 BTC for a real price adjustment we could buy up all the under-priced coins, and creating huge buy walls. Perhaps we should organize something like that. This coin used to be worth .00025 back when the volume was up, and we could get it back on Poloniex.

Metiscoin would even be put up above the majority of alts on coinmarketcap if we could do something like that.

I like your idea. Problem is, I only have about .28 BTC worth of MTS (which costed me around .5).
Yep, Metiscoin is unrealistically under-priced. There's probably a few other alt-currency investors that benefit from creating this artificially low price. Though that's just a theory.

http://bitcoinmultitrade.com

Are they officially with RTBTC, or are they a scam?

The reason I ask is because they asked to advertise on my site. If they are on the up-and-up then I'll be glad to advertise them. But, I don't want to run ads for a scam.

Sent a PM with a simple site mock-up.

Oh, and I forgot, I could also offer my services to help build a website. Isabel could offer some of her talents to generate assets for your site. So that could also be done.
14  Economy / Lending / Re: Islamic Bank of Bitcoin - LOANS on: December 08, 2013, 08:44:36 PM
Jeez, people.  Do you not understand that interest is haram (forbidden) in Islam?  That is the whole point of establishing such a bank.

Offering interest to a Muslim is like offering a ham sandwich to him.

Indeed, that's why no one in this thread has wanted to add an interest rate.

Though, darkmule is right. It is good for people to note, it isn't compliant with Sharia banking practices to "take money for money".

However, in my experience, it is normal to offer collateral, goods, and/or services. It's always good for the bank to feel secure in loaning to a person/company; but, it all depends on what the borrower can offer.

Also, gratuities/tips are usually allowed as well. Tipping someone for good service is never unappreciated by a service provider. But, a tip can not be used in order to obtain money.

I sent an e-mail about the BTC10 loan for my team, we've been very good on repaying loans in the past. And, we will return the 10 Bitcoins within 6 months, with the first payment arriving two weeks from receiving the loan.

Of course, a tip would also be involved; the tip would probably be signed artworks and other things we can give a service as a thank you.

We would also like to feature IBB in our Sponsor program:

16  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAMMER] 50BTC.com on: December 06, 2013, 09:44:02 PM
Meh, I had about 13.37036 in Heaven Sent Gaming's account there. And 8.5731 in my personal account there. Those coins were mined late last year to early this year. I usually try to have top tier mining equipment, so this is a small fraction of Bitcoin I've had.

According to the corrupted database I had BTC150+, lol I'm rich! Just kidding, this is why I keep a physical ledger of all my Bitcoin transactions. All other users should do the same, or try to maintain a personal record outside of your wallet. Also, backup your wallet in a safe place, not just the default spot on your system drive lol. (external hdd bitcoin wallet ftw!)

I used to mine at 50BTC, deepbit, and slush's pool. Then, in February, I switched to BitMinter. As a long time supporter of Bitcoin I can tell you that I've seen quite a few fallen Bitcoin pools and sites. This one probably won't be one of 'em.

50BTC is a great pool! And I'm sure they'll correct this, and payout the majority of lost funds to people. If they do, I can guarantee you the majority of people will switch over to using their services.

I recently saw that Flattr had added Bitcoin, pretty darn awesome.

I do freelance webdesign, so I've set it up Flattr for a few clients. I don't know why I haven't gotten around to setting it up on my own website though lol. Thanks for giving this moron a idea!  Cheesy
20  Economy / Economics / Re: Money as Debt Society vs Money as Value Society on: July 08, 2013, 10:55:56 AM
Bitcoin is at the core immune - there won't ever be more of them no matter how much people want, and it is based on math which is much more tangible than abstract value based on politics.

This is extremely true. However, it could then boil down to how much demand there is for it. There aren't a lot of grandmother's homemade footrests, yet how much demand is there for them? To me they're priceless, since she's been moved into an elderly care facility. But, to anyone else they are just big cans covered in cloth.
