bitcoin is by far the most attractive micro payment method on the market and if setup correctly at least for gambling sites it can be instant both ways deposits and withdrawals no other payment method on the market can top this at current transfer costs.

I would gladly pay double the advertising price if the digital issue was free.

I would also suggest to make the first edition free for the digital version. This will bring you a lot of attention and free viral marketing.

I would also question a paper copy version from a cost of producing perspective as bitcoin is all about digital. As a potential advertiser a digital copy with direct click link to our offer increase the conversion rate.

You might also think about an eMagazin paid version for kindle (amazon) or iBook (apple) rather than investing in a own APP (again saving on the cost factor).

For me and i guess also to others in our generation <50 paper is simply dead!

You can try to open an account in Switzerland, Liechtenstein or Luxembourg. They offer SEPA transfers from Europe and some even offer ACH transfers. Accounts can be opened in most currencies. Switzerland and Liechtenstein not being in the EU is surely a positive aspect.

i think that this free websecurity (websecuritymonitor.com) service can monitor code changes and alarm the owner in case the site was hacked.

I tested out both and must say that the blockchain.info wallet seems more intuitive and a lot cheaper to our players that prefer to make multiple small deposits (the median deposit amount is 2.8 BTC). We will be redirecting them to blockchain.info and the to the multibit local client (http://multibit.org) for those that like to stay more independent.

Unfortunately the official client create a lot of confusions to newbies and generate lot of support requests as either they don't receive their money because the blockchain didn't finish to download or they are mixing up incoming and depositing addresses.

Anyway I'm happy to have found some good alternatives that will support our business.

Thanks for your help
172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: web wallet with same incoming and outgoing bitcoin address on: January 08, 2012, 08:00:04 PM
correct, it let you even pick out sending addresses where the incoming address can be selected.

thank you very much, we will now advise our players to use this web wallet.
173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / web wallet with same incoming and outgoing bitcoin address on: January 08, 2012, 07:21:56 PM
Hi

For our members and players we are looking to recommend some instant Bitcoin web wallet that support deposits and withdrawals from the same address (we process players withdrawals back to their depositing address).

We have add multiple issues with players using https://www.instawallet.org or https://walletbit.com/ to  make deposits and cashouts are then lost if they don't realize that their depositing address is generic and not unique to their web wallet.

We have then to keep our players happy re-credited their withdrawals to a new address of their choice so losing for ever our first payment.

Please advise if you know online wallets that would support this functionality.

Thank you

175  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where is the best place to buy bitcoins? on: December 22, 2011, 08:55:11 PM
I think sticking with the big three:

- CryptoXchange -> http://cryptoxchange.com/
- Mtgox -> https://mtgox.com/
- TradeHill -> https://www.tradehill.com/

and using https://www.bitinstant.com/ to speed it up is currently the easiest, fastest and safest way to buy and sell coins.

this apps looks very promising!

here my feedback to help you improve:

- logging in with twitter account does not seems to works.
- the captcha won't display in the browser because it does not use SSL, my browser block content if it suppose to be SSL encrypted but isn't (only secure content is displayed)

I'll be happy to test it again once you sorted this out.

My #1 concern, among with a blog article about your site which I will choose not to post here because I can't confirm it's accuracy, is this:

There is an animation on the front page that shows the top winnings of the games.

Currently it says this:

MORE THAN 100 CASINO GAMES

Biggest win this month:
3D ROULETTE BTC 78,00 Australia

25 LINES ACES & FACES BTC 150,00 Austria

HAPPY BUGS BTC 96,00 Colombia

GLADIATOR BTC 226.00 Argentina

ELEKTRA BTC 191.00 Italy

SANTA SURPRISE BTC 271,00 Germany

FRANKIE DETTORI BTC 235,00 Italy

BONUS BEARS BTC 185.00 United Kingdom

BLACKJACK BTC 120,00 USA

DOLPHIN REEF BTC 275.00 France

Gladiator BTC 140.00 Germany

AZTECA BTC 95,00 South Africa

THE INCREDIBLE HULK BTC 175.00 Russia

IRON MAN BTC 182.00 Norway

X-MEN BTC 169.80 Egypt

DESERT TREASURE BTC 99.00 Brazil

PENGUIN VACATION BTC 55.00 Colombia

FROM RUSSIA BTC 95.00 Netherlands

That took me awhile to grab off the site, but let's look at the data.  The "top" winner of those games (remember, there are over 100 games and this is just 20 of those games) is 2837.80 BTC.  At $4 a coin that's $11,351.20, not bad for a web site that is only a WEEK OLD.  And that's not even the losers or the not-so-biggest winners on each game, which I estimate to be another billion btc of revenue. Let's say hypothetically someone in Egypt won 169.80 playing X-Men, that bitcoin transaction would show up in the blockexplorer, right?  Show us.  Why are some of the reported biggest winners reported with a comma between the decimal place?  Why is Gladiator listed twice, when there is only 1 Gladiator game in the interface.  I feel like I've wasted enough time trying to prove my point.  Defend yourself.

Hi mc_lovin

Thank you for reviewing the big game ticker and finding a miss leading issue with it that we will correct immediately!

The way this ticker is prepared are as followed. First a script that runs inside the gaming database generate the top 20 withdrawals over a 30 days period and return the game name the value and the player IP address. This data is then taken and put manually inside the website ticker as the IP need to be transposed to a location as we don't collect any user information except for an email address and the Bitcoin depositing address that is used to pay back the winnings.

Now the problem you pointed out arises while the casino use casino credits in the database instead of Bitcoins to make it more fun to play (1 BTC = 10 Casino Credits). The value in the ticker are not Bitcoins but Casino Credits thus need to be divided by 10 to reflect the correct amount.

I hope this clarify the discrepancy for you and others.

This was not intentional and I like to apologize for it!

On a side note we have been operating the casino since 2 months but only announced it here once we were sure all was working as expected. We are quite happy with the current response from customers (mostly not from the Bitcoin community). We are currently working on "how to" movies to explain how to buy Bitcoins at preferred exchangers and how to use their web wallets to transfer Bitcoins back and for to their player account.

As a thank you for your time and work I would like to offer you 20 casino credits just PM me your account info (you don't need to play you can cash it out immediately if you prefer).

Is there a REAL Casino that accepts bitcoins yet?
In other words, someone who actually runs a real online casino site that accepts bitcoins?
By Casino, I do not mean 1 or 2 games.

No there is no "real" licensed casino accepting Bitcoins yet and it will probably take some time until there is.
There are no real gaming licenses that does not require the players to register with full names, adress etc.
This is in order to prevent money laundry.

I would be very carefull to trust any casino or gambling site offering players to play without requireing this info or without a valid and recognised gaming license.

They could be shut down, take your coins etc. If there is no license there is probably no player protection.

A gaming license from Isle of Man (One of the trustworthy in the industry.) costs around £50.000 per year.

A license means next to nothing.  Look at Full Tilt Poker (just latest in a string of player losses due to fraud, theft, embezzlement).  A license is only as good as the authority issuing it and all of the existing off shore authorities collect big checks to look the other way and rubber stamp.

I will second that.

The so called gambling licenses are the biggest joke in the online gambling industry. From Malta to Isle of Man to Kahnawake to Alderney all those gambling Jurisdictions have multiple scandals and none of them manage to successfully protect the players. The only think they successfully manage to do is collecting the yearly license costs.

Successful player protection is handled by forums communities that can pressure operators ( 2+2 , Casinomeister etc.). The online gambling industry is self regulated, fraudulent operators that are after players money open multiple casinos at the same time and move their player base from one to the other and successfully defeats players funds by tricking them into bonus traps or unauthorized playing behaviors to escape paying back the players (just to mention a few...).

Even well none brands use these techniques to defraud players from their funds. Only few ethical online operators are around and "strangely" those are not the most successful.

Just ask yourself how those casinos manage to give €2000 in bonuses and are still highly profitable! Look at the time it takes them to pay back winnings from 24 hours for the fastest to 3 weeks or even never. Why can't the winnings be processed immediately. The software control the gameplay and bonus rules still they let you wait for no obvious reason, the reason is that a player will cancel his withdrawal and start playing again within 12 hours 50% chances, within 48 hours 55%, within 3 days over 65% chance for the casino to make the player cancel his withdrawal.

Thanks to almost nonexistent transactions fee with Bitcoin transactions we opted to process all deposits and withdrawals instantly. This is for sure a premiere and only possible thanks to the Bitcoin technology.

Self regulation in our case will bring us much further. Each player not getting paid instantly can post a forum complain, note that the site or the Bitcoin demon could be temporally down which could cause a potential delay in transactions other than that players can expect to be paid instantly.

Good luck in playing at regulated "secure" casinos and poker rooms!
