Ah... Now I got it. I thought it was like this before, but then the 500% thing you guys threw at me confuzzled me. All set now. This forum needs a 'Thank You' button like my SMF Forum. Highly usable.

So, I'm basically getting paid the same amount for a block that takes 225% vs one that takes 37%. Even though I stayed in the 225% one the whole time, while jumped out of the 105% one while messing with my miners. I am completely misunderstanding this PPLNS , 500% thing. *Sorry I'm a bit thick at this*. Usually I'm good at math, but this just doesn't jive with me. LOL What's odd though, is that it still is a higher income than the Mining Earnings calculators I compared against, so I'm not concerned. Weird

Ok, so now that the block finished with 225% and I stayed in the whole time at or above the normal TH, does that mean the payout should be 225% of the normal @100% lock, right?

I'll take -1.51 to -1.75 I can be hopeful.

You guys are blowing my mind. Why didn't I get into this 2 years ago. :Banghead:

Ahh. I never knew paypal was so stacked against sellers. Crap.

Ohh ok. So it's residual. So if my TH fluctuates it will still stay at the high % but figured with the combined hash for I have put in. Thank you Sorry to keep asking these questions, but I'm learning about all of this.

I hope I'm putting this in the right area, sorry if not.
I see tons of people selling bitcoins (partials) at 2x-3x normal going rates. Why is that? Or better yet, why would anyone buy those??
Thanks.

From what I read, the s5 is having issues and seems quite loud where most people modify or change the fan. The SP20s can get rather quiet if you get them to sub 700watt and around 1200GH. No mods necessary.
This is an accurate assessment. An SP20 running @ ~1250GHs @ 20% fans is quieter than an S5 with the stock fans. To your point of "having issues", I'm not sure what specifically you are referring to. The two B1 S5's I purchased have been running very well, performance wise. I've heard and saw some reports on high error rates at stock speeds, needs to reset multiple times due to dropped connections and the mounting issues due to the top open. Still thinking of getting one or two to play with though. Or the C1 maybe, but I hate how they made the watercooling an external 'necessity'.

Another question . If I have multiple miners working in the pool at different locations and one or some go down, while others stay up, does that reset my increased pay rate like you mentioned, up to 500% on long hashes, or as long as one or more are active, still maintain my level? Thanks

Nice payout... thx! I'm sure they will be nicer once 500% is here.
I'm staying this time to see how that works out. Hehe

Question before I fire up an S3 for this:
When I mine solo on this pool, and shut the miner on and off , so it's not running 24/7, when it gets turned back on, does it start a new block from scratch, or continue where she left off?
There is no notion of progress/starting from scratch in finding a block. Each hash your hardware finds has an equal chance of meeting or exceeding the current difficulty. Cool. Thank you.

Just for testing this I'm using my PC, so GPU.
I got it working though, using MultiMiner instead. Getting a bit under 800Mh/s. but using 200+Watts extra from my PS for the Video Card.

I just tried setting it up on a test system, using GUIMiner.
First, do you have ipv6 set up on your machine? Second: does guiminer even support ipv6? I'm not even sure why anyone tries to do anything with it any more since it's been unmaintained for years now. Why not actually use real mining software... it works fine with cgminer. Test your ipv6 connectivity here: http://test-ipv6.com/I'm using GUIMiner because it's simple and works with everyone else. I wasn't aware it was outdated as I only use it for testing and I've only been into mining for a bit over a week. I'll check out cgminer.

host : solo6.ckpool.org Port : 3333 Username : A Wallet address password : *Blank*
I get the error :

Any ideas?

The answer is quite simple: Whatever one you can buy for the cheapest price per GH.
Actually quite more to it than that. If you went by that remark, then you could buy an Antminer S1 for $20 with 200GH/s. Which wouldn't make sense because of the huge power usage, noise and heat they generate. Just for example.

Yes all is currently back OK. Seems the ddos protection helped quite a bit in resolving it. I'm not sure it is possible to avoid outages when a ddos hits, but all is OK for a while now.
Glad it's back online. Sadly not much you can do against DDoS attacks, unless it's just a small-time dbag doing the offense. If it's a large coordinated attack, they can down anything pretty much. I get a few of them throughout the year on my Firearms site from anti-gun groups which I can't protect against for a few hours at a time usually. Have to grin and bear it.
