Watch out with Bittrex these days. They can just lock your account (verified or not) or limit withdrawal to 0 without any notification. There are people with over 3 months of waiting for their support ticket to be answered.

This is probably because they forgot to also scan and upload the backside of their ID in the verification process. I experienced the same problem not getting verified and getting warnings about limitations, but after resubmitting and including the backside (which you easily overlook while going through the uploading steps) the verification was immediate, and limitations and warnings have gone.

I'm not going to send my ID to a 3rd party "verifier" that is known to sell IDs of people they "verified". Also, verified accounts were reduced to new. None of these changes were communicated and they don't restrict sending money as long as you can't withdraw them.

They also didn't gave any indication that closing your account, and have funds returned, is an option. As long as this stays murky at best, they aren't getting anything.

JUST received an email from Bittrex

Quote
Over the past couple of months, Bittrex has been in the process of improving its identity verification procedures.  There are a number of reasons to improve our processes, including that improved identity procedures help protect Bittrex users from theft and fraud, and prevent abuse of the Bittrex platform.  In addition, Bittrex must comply with the Bank Secrecy Act, U.S. economic sanctions laws, and other legal and regulatory requirements.  Bittrex takes these compliance obligations seriously.  We are committed to making sure our services are not used to launder money, support terrorism, commit fraud or other illegal activities.

We understand that our verification process can be frustrating or a hassle.  We have heard your complaints and are working promptly to address each individual support ticket in our system.  But, we cannot do this without the help of our customers.  We have provided below a list of common mistakes or issues that arise during our improved identity verification process that tends to increase the delay in completing the process successfully:

Creating multiple accounts associated with a single individual or entity:  Unless you have received prior approval from Bittrex, our system will disable all additional accounts associated with a single individual or entity.  This issue needs to be resolved manually by our support staff.  Given the necessity of manual intervention and the number of tickets we have received lately, there have been significant delays in resolving these issues.  Please do not create multiple accounts.
Name mismatch: If your government issued ID has a different name than the one you provided to Bittrex, your account will not be able to withdraw funds until we resolve the name mismatch.  This issue needs to be resolved manually by our support staff.  Given the necessity of manual intervention and the number of tickets we have received lately, there have been significant delays in resolving these issues.
Unreadable IDs: If your ID is not readable or otherwise unable to be verified as a legitimately issued government ID, we will not allow you to proceed with our improved identity verification process.  Please ensure that the picture of your government issued ID is clear.
Non-Latin characters on the Government IDs:  There are some countries where government IDs do not support the Latin character set.  For these IDs, there are additional steps that Bittrex will need to take to verify the information on the ID, often including manual intervention.  Given the number of tickets we have received lately, there have been significant delays in resolving these issues.  Using international passports generally makes the process move more smoothly as these passports support Latin characters.
Opening multiple support tickets: We have noticed that users are opening multiple tickets with regards to the same issue.  While we understand that the delay can be frustrating, please do not open multiple tickets for the same issue as this will cause your support request to be delayed.

Although this is not an exhaustive list, we wanted to provide some context for the delay in responding to individual support tickets.  We trust that you understand Bittrex is committed to following the law and ensuring that it has a robust compliance program.  We ask for your patience and cooperation throughout this process.

The Bittrex Team

Is it just me, Or at this point I dont give a crap about their excuses and just want it FIXED....   This email would have been MUCH better timed being sent out over a month ago.... But no resolution's offered?!

If this is true and If they just would have communicated this in public, the problem would be a lot less for them.
Also, they should have notified the user base about holding funds for hostage before the actual act (giving people a chance to withdraw). Money laundering policies should be taken only when fiat is withdrawn, most countries have those, if a country has such policies not in place, lock accounts, refund funds AND close the accounts.

Make a statement that if someone does not want to go through the verification process, give the option to close accounts and return funds.

These are all no-brainers. If shit hits the fan, communication becomes important. Compare this with how BTC-e handled communication when they went belly up.
203  Local / Beurzen / Re: altcoins kopen, via bittrex? on: December 05, 2017, 09:12:34 PM

There are much more powerful groups operating on Bittrex.

I wonder if they could get Bittrex back in check: https://www.taylorcopelandlaw.com/blockchain-and-cryptocurrency/
206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: December 05, 2017, 06:19:45 PM
You can see the development of the price? Gulden is not a good investment and they do not like to be critisized. Obviously the market is not impressed by their POW2...

PoW2 is not live  Wink

So the price will rise when pow2 is implemented?

strange thing now is that most alt coins are rising and the gulden not. is everybody waiting for the update?

We attempted a pump at the start of November but we were dumped on fast, wanted to see how the market reacted but it looked like a few community members wanted to liquidate quickly and scared most of the group off. A day later Timburtons proved it was traders on slack that were proud as fuck to be making 5% profit. Not saying a pump isn't possible but you will need a 1000 btc to kill off the peasants holding the coin back and make sure they never get back in again.
Pure non-sense...first this pump was maybe the most ridiculous pump ever.
If you need 1000BTC to kill off the peasants well I guess they are not peasant...
Some groups might be trying to held down Gulden, either they do not want Gulden to succeed or they are accumulating...
Nevertheless, it will be difficult to hold Gulden price down when release hits...

Is LTEX still holding Gulden or did he sell all of it?
I think he is still holding some...but can not confirm

He told me last week that he was planning to start buying back.

So, basically there two options:

1) Something malicious: count your coins lost, don't give them anything more (protect your ID).
2) Overwhelmed by something, but no malicious intent: wait for them to respond, count your coins lost, but there might be a chance you get them back. In worst case they have to close your account and return your funds.

208  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex ignores thousands of clients! on: December 05, 2017, 08:48:00 AM
If I ask for closing account, will they send all my money to adress I`ll write?
That's what I'm interested too...

If they require enhanced verification and you don't comply, I don't think they will send your money back to you. It doesn't matter whether you want to close your account. It's not fair since they have changed their terms so much recently; we never agreed to these terms for Basic accounts. But the fact remains: they have your money, and they want your ID/selfies.....

Stick with non-KYC brokers like Bitmex from now on! Besides Coinbase when I need to sell BTC --> bank account, I'm done with these exchanges.

For what it's worth, they state in their own terms that if due to some "contract breach", they close your account and will contact you to send your coins back. They also state they use US law, and are based in the US (so the US law statement is redundant) and even that states that if there is a contract breach (them changing terms without notification should be enough for that) funds should be returned to their respective owner.

Question is, will they follow the law and their own terms? For many non-US residents (like myself), prosecuting them in court is close to impossible. I'm just going to sit this shit out and check back within a few months, but I consider the money already lost.

How will be the money, collected during the ICO be spent?

There is no ICO, only the pre-mine, which was distributed among the people in Iceland.

Of the remaining funds:
- 1.000.001 AUR was transferred to the Auroracoin foundation for development and promotion in Iceland (only a small bit has been used so far).
- the rest was burned (e.a. transferred to an address that nobody has the key for).
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: - AURORACOIN - on: December 04, 2017, 08:39:01 PM

PoW is divided over 5 hashing algorithms. Each block (independent of the algo) rewards 2.5 AUR.
Difficulty is adjusted for global (all 5 algo's) and per algo at each block.

It’s easier to get more hash per seconds with sha256 than scrypt…

Does the system take that into account when determining computation power ?

Like I said, each algo has its own difficulty. In the end the result is that sha256d has a higher difficulty than scrypt,
giving on average each algo as much chance of finding a block.

The difference in the amount of hashes/sec between algos (irrelevant if this is due to the algo itself or the hardware
that generates the hash) is compensated by the change in difficulty.

Other said: on the same hardware, there are different amount of hashes, compensated by different difficulties.

Another one, #586824

Not a verification issue (well, Basic verification didn't work), but I requested my account to be terminated and funds returned to the addresses I specified in my ticket. EV is not an option for me. Transferred a lot of coins to Bittrex for sale, to only find out afterwards that I couldn't get funds out again, while at the beginning of November everything was still fine.

What is multi algo ?

How does reward works between multiple proof of work algorithms ?

Does ᴀꜱɪᴄ minable like scrypt and ꜱʜᴀ256 have less value for being rewarded ?

Gulden figures and new retailers for November

http://guldenbites.nl/en/2017/12/02/gulden-figures-november/

Weren't some of those retailers already mentioned in October?

There are still roughly 1.4 million coins in the bittrex wallet 8069.

Do you think most of these coins belong to bittrex users or do most of the coins belong to the exchange itself?

My guess is mostly users.

WTF???

<edit>
Ow.... f*ck... I'm pulling everything from there. These guys just jeopardized our market. I'll have to re-evaluate on how to keep our market stable due to these jokers.

</edit>

How will this negatively impact us?

Probably more volatility on the market, less price stability.

Hi there, wonder if there are any news on auroracoin?

Besides Mikki's auroracoin101.is site (and his efforts on getting more merchants on board, check his site), currently nothing newsworthy. Code development is going on. Last week I've pushed some code reconstruction changes regarding the PoW hashing calls to the development github, which is currently ongoing. This is needed for future development and takes a lot of time to make sure the results result in the same consensus as in the pre-change code (after every change we need to resync the whole chain).

PLEASE  anyone can tell about auroracoin profit (sha256) 1Th/s per day??
and which pool is better Huh

I don't know about profitability (I do a little bit of mining to support the coin, not profit). Personally, I have good experience with Strataspool,

Even Robert Mugabe would be embarrassed by this type of abuse!

Maybe we should put all our moneys into Zimbabwean dollars... will give more profit than NLG... :-D
