1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What coins do hedge funds invest in. on: September 21, 2017, 03:23:35 PM
Do you know a good place where we can get information about hedge funds investments ? Might be interesting to try to understand their strategy :-)
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which ICO would you suggest for October? on: September 21, 2017, 03:20:51 PM
yes Swarm fund look promising. I would choose ICO in sectors with a big market growth potential (IoT, solar power, car-sharing, AI, etc...) or in the financial sector and not ICO's related to gambilng, sports bet, etc...
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What knowledge/experience is needed to start a blockchain/altcoin project? on: September 21, 2017, 03:17:02 PM
I would also be interested to get such feedbacks as I have a d-app blockchain project slowly growing in my mind Wink

Please share !
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What If Bitcoin is banned? on: September 21, 2017, 03:11:30 PM
Well I totally agree with the idea that it would be stupid for a government to ban BTC because this could put its country in an economic disadvantage. However, China has demonstrates us that a kind of banning is always possible. What is the point of this exchanges and ICO banning ? Do they have a wise strategy behind it ? Could be...

To answer your question, if my country was a big country I would maybe sell my BTC if I learn they plan to ban it...
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you OK with Bitcoin being called a token? on: September 21, 2017, 03:04:04 PM
To me Bitcoin is a protocol. Bitcoins are the token / coins of the bitcoin protocol. So yes bitcoins are tokens/units/coins call them how you want.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why do governments don't make BTC illegal worldwide ? on: September 21, 2017, 02:55:10 PM
On what legal grounds?

Maybe in a totalitarian communist regime bitcoin can be made illegal, but in the free world a legal case would need to be made. I have never heard one, have you?

You don't need to live in a totalitarian and communist regime to experience banning of something. In EU for example, laws have been voted to ban glyphosate (Monsanto Roundup) use for example. In some countries of the free world some gov's plan to make the use of a bicycle with helmet illegal so why not BTC ? If a government judges it as a tool for money laundering they can decide to vote a law to make its use illegal.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you monitor your crypto portfolio? on: September 21, 2017, 02:44:08 PM
Ok it seems that blockfolio  has the best popularity here. I'll give it another try ! And i'll also have a look at abcfolio Smiley

Still nobody with a simple spreadsheet solution ?

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: List of all the BANK card token projects on: September 21, 2017, 02:40:25 PM
Hmm it seems that the field is very crowded ! many project going here ! I'll make my investigations to compare all of them and their potential for mainstream adoption. To me the key to success will be ease of use !

It's supposed to be from 1st to 7th september (included).
I have posted 21 times during that period and only have a count of 18 on the spreadsheet..

Same for me : I did my homeworks well (20 quality posts) and it's only written 18 in the spreadsheet.

I sent you your missing stakes. Sorry for the mistake.

Hi Sylon, thanks for managing this campaign. It seems that there is also a problem with my posts counts. I'll send you a PM with the required information. All the best !
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you monitor your crypto portfolio? on: September 20, 2017, 07:02:20 AM
I think its very clear that most of us are recommending blockfolio. Easy, convenience and friendly user app that can help you to monitor the price for your invested coins. Hope we help you with your concern. Happy earnings my friend. Enjoy and relax with your new apps, we are hitech now so why doing it manual if you can use this apps.

This apps lack some functionality. For example, if you have invested in BLX index from iconomi, it is not possible to add it beacuse it is not per se a token. Also, what about bounty campaigns earnings ? Do you add these as "mining" profit. I like organized stuffs and this apps are to narrow for my use.

So a good old custom spreadhseet my be a perfect solution Wink
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency crash is coming, warns Dogecoin creator on: September 20, 2017, 06:59:37 AM
Their could be a crash, there will certainly be a crash. The actual price of all the crypto is only a reflect of the hype around it. It is a bright newborn market with no regulation, and a kind of new far west where anything is possible from scams to big revolutionary projects. Big bad news could effectively make the price of the cryptos fall down. Bad news = scared investor = selling = SELLING = SELLING SELLING SELLING. Nothing new here. I hold, would wait the crash to buy more and still hold for a few years. Blockhain is a revolutionary technology that I think will go mainstream. Time to invest !
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waves Vs. Ethereum on: September 20, 2017, 06:52:29 AM
To my opinion it is always good to have a diversity to avoid dominance/monopole of a system. If waves and ethereum share some similiraties. That is good. Competition will drive the developers of both platforms to continuously and quickly improve the platform of their choice ! All good for end users. Don't you think ?
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEO - The Ethereum of China (Invest before you regret) on: September 20, 2017, 06:47:40 AM
NEO is really a promising and promising coin. However, investing in it now is associated with a huge risk due to the adoption by the Chinese government of a series of measures aimed at a complete ban on its citizens to make any transactions using crypto currency, including with NEO. Therefore, I would not venture to invest in this coin now. To the New Year, when the situation should clear up, it may make sense.

+1 ! At the moment I would not invest any cent in a chinese crypto project. The uncertainty produced by the chinese government is too high. I don't even really understand where they want to head at. What is their strategy about crypto ! Crypto has a huge potential for chinese economy. Why do they make hard to use ? I don't really understand !
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the future of BTC for the next two years on: September 18, 2017, 07:09:03 PM
This year and next year still ‘ year of BTC’. I thinks!  Grin

I hope so ! And I'm quite confident it will be like this. The demand for BTC goes higher and higher ! Around me more and more people are BTC-aware and want to know more about cryptoworld and its potential. And this seems to be the trend on the web too. Look for example at Google requests stats about crypto related topics !
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waves Vs. Ethereum on: September 18, 2017, 06:59:59 PM
To my opinion, it is only a question of trust. Clients only rely on something that has already proven its efficiency. Waves is a newcomer and could create a large user base. However, like facebook for social media, ETH is already well established, with a lot of ressources, developers, solved bugs, etc... It is a mature platform.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency crash is coming, warns Dogecoin creator on: September 18, 2017, 06:44:29 PM
It's kinda inevitable that there will be one or several big crashes coming up. However, it's far from trivial to say when. Perhaps when the market reaches 200b, 1t or 10t - who knows?

The technology has a lot of use cases, meaning even a crash or two won't eliminate the market. But it will kill a lot of the altcoins I'd wager.

The dot-com bubble didn't result in the internet becoming worthless, just a bunch of the companies trying to profit from it (the bottom lot)

I totally agree with this statement. Even if a lot of coins are not scams and look promising, only a few of them will get mainstream and survive to the bubble explosion. I only invest in coins with a wide span of potential and not limited to a single use case.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mining Siacoin on Mac OS X ? on: September 18, 2017, 06:04:52 PM
i did not try it. but i checked this:

https://siamining.com/help

there are several miners that work. and i think that you can find a OSX version of one of these miners.

http://www.johnchapman.net/my-work/apps-and-software/ccminer/

http://www.spaceman.ca/cgminer/

https://github.com/nwoolls/xgminer-osx

Well, you would be able to mine SiaCoin but your electricity bill will be much higher than your mining rewards. Some people have built to tools were you can estimate your mining ROI depending of the hardware you want to use for your mining rig. It is all about engineering and designing. Also, I do remember a crypto project aimed at making cloud mining available on smartphones. Could deserve a try but I can't remember the name of it. If anyone knows ?
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you monitor your crypto portfolio? on: September 18, 2017, 05:54:14 PM
I haven't managed to find a crypto portfolio tracker that works better than a spreadsheet I have. I'm curious what other folks use—would love to hear any tips about what is or isn't working for folks.

In the meantime, I'm going to try and make some improvements to my spreadsheet tool at cointracker.network for anyone to try (feedback welcome).

Good topic man ! I'm also looking for a cool portfolio tracker. I've tested a few of them but none of them (https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@pedrombraz/the-best-way-to-track-your-crypto-portfolio) really satisfied my needs.

At the moment, I'm looking for a spreadsheet solution but it is hard to find some time to develop a spreadsheet that can get track of current trade, make updated plots,... I want to keep it simple without investing too much time.

So if anyone has a good spreadsheet that involves these features please share :

- ability to track investments
- ability to track earned bounties
- ability to track mining
- ability to track trades
- ability to track withdrawals

Thanks for you answers

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: new coins listed on exchange : how ? on: September 18, 2017, 03:25:17 PM
Seems like ED is a popular place. Not sure if they need to approve anything?

EtherDelta doesn't require approval for trade. Since it's decentralized, all you need to know is the token's contract address as you can start trading any token.

I will invest some time understanding how ether Delta works. And what about tokens built on another blockchain. I think we really need some decentralized trading place for our favorite decentralized tokens !
