Dam dude, always negative things happening to you in regards to bitcoin. Hope your luck changes for the better and soon. Once its gets so bad you would think it could only get better, but then something else happens.

So many negative outcomes from situations can sometimes make people its happening to become more negative. Keep your chin up and don't let the evil get to you. From wat I know of you, your character and reputation are impeccable and inspiring.

As for Vitaliy Maxorin @MVitaliyB@mail.ru, nobody can say the same about him. This is who he is and wat goes around comes around. Do onto others as you would want done onto you. You only as good as those you surround yourself with. Maybe someday EMC will be invite only. If so I hope my measly MH/s does not prevent me from joining.

I am glad to be of your acquaintance, hope only positive things are in your future.

Getting hammered on DGM past few days. Guess this means you are getting hammered by PPS.

144  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER GPU FPGA overclock monitor fanspeed GCN RPC linux/windows 2.5.0 on: July 12, 2012, 08:49:16 PM

I would just like to chime in about how cgminer sends misc shares to backup pools when not busy enough..

my 4th backup pool is solo (as i think all miners should have solo as final backup to protect network)

well cgminer found me this block https://blockchain.info/block-height/188729 a couple of hours ago.. what are the odds?

thank you clovias

My 5th backup is solo as well.  Though I haven't had any nice surprises like you just did.  Good for you.

I wonder how often this happens?  Anyone else find a block with a solo backup, I wonder?
Sam

Meni Rosenfeld I have seen around, answering questions and breaking down problems using complex math equations. Plenty more information would be needed, but if its possible to get an answer that is anywhere close, he's your guy. Recently I haven't come across his post as frequently as in the past, so I can't say he has the time or would even be willing to bother so...

The speed that the site is reporting for my miner seems to be a bit slower than normal. Off by about 60-120 MH/s from wat I normally see.

If you find the time, PPS and miner alerts were all over the place for me as well yesterday and could use a double check.

Would this be refered to as a zapper? Somebody PM with an explanation of wat exactly I'm looking at. Use?

If you don't want to believe that, then that's your choice. If anyone wants a possible extra 50 MH/s though, all they have to do is test this themselves. You don't have to take my word for it.

Mabsark, just so you know. You should really take another look at the post several people have made on the previous page and take their words for it. They have stated your conclusions are incorrect. They have also told you why they are incorrect. In addition to that you have told us in your own words how your reported numbers are completely incorrect and this is why the assumptions you have made with this data and believe to be true are in fact false.

With that said, if you are at all interested in knowing the true speed and potential earnings your hardware are capable of. You should really attempt to absorb the  comments and help those people have offered. If you go to either of the post made by ckolivas, and follow the link in his sig it will take you to the most widely used mining software miners are mining with. You may find it a little intimidating and a bit more in depth than guiminer, but it will not mislead you with false stats and will give you a more realistic view of wats really goin on when you are not playing games.

good luck and may the force be with you

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.  It's true, I do run the pool for the miners... basically I just try to run a pool I want to mine in, which is why I started a pool in the first place; none of the pools offered the things I wanted.  I'm definitely all about the miners and not about the money.  Unfortunately, no Ferrari's for me from the pool proceeds, but I'm ok with that. Well I'm sure any donation is welcomed. I didn't want to give anyone the impression your donation will directly affect the pool or it's uptime. I was just responding to the post about whether a mandatory donation would improve the pool.

I am pretty certain from what I have observed that Inaba does whatever he can to make the pool the best it can be. He's clearly not doing it just for the money.

+1 dude gets an A+ in my book. Time and time again goes above and beyond the call of duty. Leads by example and is a role model not just for the other bitcoin pools operators, but also the pools themselves and in how he is involved with it and for the miners of it.

Inaba sorry for a majority of my post in this thread to be of this nature.

Getting a little help evening out that PPS with the run of short blocks lately. I unfortunately am not on DGM currently. Added another miner though so my measly donation amount should double.

Here's my Lego mining rig

NO NEED TO INCLUDE IMAGES AGAIN

2x5850 still under construction (a third 5850 is on the way).

was this an attempt to get your kids interested in mining?

Then tell your buddy about your return and see if he can go buy the open box card(now used) at a discount.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [LTC] An (even more) optimized version of cpuminer on: June 09, 2012, 12:23:28 PM
Version 2.2.2

  • On Windows, thread priority is now set instead of process priority. This should solve most problems concerning system responsiveness.

Would this change have any effect on a single GPU dedicated miner running win7. Would a certain number of threads be recommended to ensure the GPU miners performance is never degraded or interfered with?

Currently on a quadcore I dedicate core #3 to phoenix and then allow minerd cores 0,1,2 for mining either litecoin or bitcoin. Anyone have any opinions on a more optimum setting?
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [LTC] An (even more) optimized version of cpuminer on: May 25, 2012, 11:36:04 PM
adding the --algo sha256d fixed it

With the sha256d algorithm all speed improvement I was getting with the new version mining litecoins using scrypt is now lost.
