Basically, as you have said there are two options sell (quit) or hold for more time with the hope that the prices will go up again. Personally, I would recommend to hold your investments and don`t be too quick on the selling trigger. If you want to sell some coin, wait a week more and then decide.
Right now, it is the recovery process on the market; the prices are recovering from the winter dip and trying to get back in rhythm. If you still believe in the crypto currency, I think it is a great opportunity to invest and make nice profit.
Do your planning before buying any coin. Figure out the level of risks and the profit you would like to get from your portfolio in general or from specific coin. Never go in the market if you are not prepared for it.
Let`s take Ethereum for example, the thing that makes it valuable is the smart contracts and ability to use its technology as a fundament for new ICOs. So there is got to be a specific feature in your coin that will make others life easier.
I believe we can all share the same mistakes of selling too fast because we weren`t experienced enough. I personally have done the same one with my Ethereum altcoins, but it has taught me a lot and I won`t be too fast on a trigger again.
I share your point of view. I think altcoins, well at least 90% of them, won`t survive for more than a year, max. I am not even talking about 5-10 years period, but it`s not a bad thing, cause a better developed more stable coins will take their place.
Good budget you have got there. Anyway, I would recommend Bitcoin as your main crypto currency to invest, especially long-term. Bitcoin is the most famous and stable coin out there. Altcoins are nor on their own, they will always follow Bitcoin and yes, there is a chance you lose everything.
I can definitely relate to your point of view. Most of the ICOs today are created no to be usable and convenient for people, but to take money from you and then just close down in the middle of the road. It sucks, but that`s how it is right now.
