1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Broken BTC Withdrawals on Gox -- 2230 EST, 28 JAN: 1654 broken TX!! on: January 31, 2014, 02:48:30 AM
Does anyone else find it humourous that the legal center for foreigners has an appointment line that only speaks Japanese?  I guess you have to walk in if you can't talk the talk?
2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Arbitrage between Exchanges in USD on: January 29, 2014, 06:43:26 AM
But, if no one can withdraw money, except maybe yen, eventually gox will die a horrible death.  The price diff does not fix the problem.  Why is anyone still using them?
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Arbitrage between Exchanges in USD on: January 29, 2014, 12:25:03 AM

Maybe MTGox do their own arbitrage, as they are probably the only people able to withdraw quickly from their own exchange? Buy coins from other exchanges and sell them on MtGox. Rinse and repeat.

perhaps is Gox is not doing this leads me to the only conclusion possible - that they really don't actually have the USD they claim, that perhaps back when they were the only exchange they inflated the number of bitcoins shown on the site, and now they can't pay those coins back...

I optimized your settings. Can someone beat my settings? (its a contest right?)

I didn't optimize it "in depth" since I was looking at 1) how to scale trades properly given a specific timeframe 2) has mostly green throughout 3) Works extremely well during a long term bear market 4) develop a simpler method for optimizing settings within 2 hours. Which is what I more or less wanted to achieve.

I took a pic at 3 months 6 months and 1 year so you can see how it performs without the prominent growth from earlier in the year.

Edit: You got 10677%...
I got...13104%

It would be great if the Backtest engine could be enhanced to have multiple time views like this ...   oh yeah.... (really great)

Clearly you are missing that she is Satoshi Nakamoto. That's the joke.
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Bitcoin Arbitrage between Exchanges in USD on: January 27, 2014, 01:10:51 AM
With the everpresent price difference between MtGox and all the other exchanges in USD, is there no one on the planet that can come up with an arbitrage strategy to take advantage of this, (at the time of this writing 200$ per coin) price disparity and buy coins on the low exchanges on sell them on Mt Gox for Dollars until the low exchange price rises up and MtGox price drops, thus acheiving an equilibrium?  I know why US citizens can't do it, but citizens in other countries with supplies of USD should be eager to make a quick USD arbitrage haul, right?  this price difference needs to be much closer thru some sort of automated trading strategy that someone builds a bot for... If not, MtGox and the other exchanges might trade amongst themselves to make similar arbitrage profits.

Comments?

edit : no one on the planet, not no on on the planet.

Is everybody using the new version except me, or did it not push out like was mentioned earlier?  Can you guys put the versoin number somewhere on the windows we see, like an about tab, instead of having to go into chrome settings to check it?

Thanks...
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NSA, CIA, FBI took control of Bitcoin on: December 17, 2013, 06:57:48 AM
I heard thru a reputable source, that this Coinbase company also uses "A/C" Electrical Power. The same power that NSA uses to power their farms of servers. Therefore Coinbase is obviously tied to them.

 Shocked

I think ButterBot should have a 'Lifetime Subscription' offer available for $1,499.99, with free upgrades forever.

I certainly like that idea Smiley. I would be worried about "forever" though given server costs as we plan to keep developing for the next couple of decades Smiley.

I will look into this though, it may be worth it for long term clients.

Pablo.

Just take the 1500.00 US, and buy a bond or other interest bearing item earning 5-6%, and you have perpetual income of about 75.00 a year from it...forever.

When you turn on the bot, it should ASK you to, if you have your position wrong for what it thinks, to manually trade to get it where it thinks it should be, otherwise it should wait for the first cross.
11  Economy / Services / Re: Butter Bot!: New Bitstamp, BTC-E, and MtGox EMA Trading Platform on: November 20, 2013, 03:05:18 AM
Hey Pablo,

I think it would be nice if the bot would provide a chart with EMA lines so we could visualize exactly what different tweaks in our engine settings are doing. It would help noobs like me understand the product.

+100  Can someone retrofit the backtest data output to produce something if Pablo can't get it into the Roadmap?
12  Economy / Services / Re: Butter Bot!: New Bitstamp, BTC-E, and MtGox EMA Trading Platform on: November 13, 2013, 01:32:29 AM
sounds like you're gonna need to have the buttery bot translated into chinese... and add a forum in chinese?
13  Economy / Services / Re: Butter Bot!: New Bitstamp, BTC-E, and MtGox EMA Trading Platform on: November 11, 2013, 03:56:26 AM
i see similar behavior.

Another nice feature would be if, when you run a backtest, if it displayed the 'backchart' showing the ema's for that particular backtest.
15  Economy / Services / Re: Butter Bot!: New Bitstamp, BTC-E, and MtGox EMA Trading Platform on: November 10, 2013, 09:10:15 PM
what if the Bot dynamically slowed down and sped up depending on conditions it was sensing? maybe volume? maybe some other volatility indicator?
16  Economy / Services / Re: Butter Bot!: New Bitstamp, BTC-E, and MtGox EMA Trading Platform on: November 10, 2013, 07:58:51 PM
I meant if it automatically summarized it at the top like it does the min profit...
17  Economy / Services / Re: Butter Bot!: New Bitstamp, BTC-E, and MtGox EMA Trading Platform on: November 10, 2013, 07:49:13 PM
I know weve been talking about new features we'd like to see, and i for one love the backtest engine. Howabout a forwardtest engine?

Seriously, It would be nice if the backtest engine had a little more info like number of losing vs winning trades, so we could also try to see if we could find settings that at least in theory minimized the number of trades where we just turned around and bought it back slightly higher.

19  Economy / Services / Re: Butter Bot!: New Bitstamp, BTC-E, and MtGox EMA Trading Platform on: November 09, 2013, 05:57:11 AM
Pablo, am I understanding it correctly, that if you use multiple exchanges, you only can set the exchange settings for the "main" one? or can you set settings for all of them to be different?
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much to put bitcoin TO DA MOON (or the ISS or a satellite)? on: November 04, 2013, 05:16:36 AM
