1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🆗[ANN][OK] Okcash | Future of Cash | Micropayments | Unique LTSS | IoT | ROKOS on: July 29, 2017, 09:52:00 PM
anyone know OKCASH's biggest competitor, if any?
We are the only coin with a real LTSS (Long Term Sustainable Staking).
Unlike some mainstream coins, we are not self-funded (mining fees that goes to the developpers) and we have a fixed cap (unlike some other mainstream coins)
We have a group of hard working dev that works hard to improve the wallet and its features unlike many other coins with an ugly and useless wallet that can only send and receive coins.
ROKOS being a side project of OK makes OK the best coin for IoT devices such as Raspberry Pi... Try to find another coin that made its own OS for IoT devices!
We have a constant growing community and we keep far away from hype, because we don't want to be one of those hype coins that say something to see its price go up but nothing is really being developped.

So do we have a competitor.... There's so many shitcoins out there without purpose that I don't think we have a direct competitor no.

When's the last OK get minted?

Its on first page of this ANN!!

"Last OK coins to be PoS mined expected between years 2148 - 2188 depending on the % of Network Staking."

Hey guys,

I got an orphaned block in my wallet which states: "Generated but not accepted"

I am still on the right chain but I would like to know if the orphaned block will disappear from my recent transactions and/or will it make problems with staking?

Many thanks in advance

That only means that someone found block faster than and got rewards. You did not loose or win anything. You will still get your rewards in one of next block.
That record of orphan will stay in your wallet as long as that address is in your wallet.

Any idea why okcash wallets likes to go out of sync after 5 or 6 days and start spitting out orphans?

I have to restart it every few days just to make sure this does not happen. I am running latest linux mint and i've downloaded precompiled latest okcash 4.0.0.4 ubuntu x64 wallet.
I had same problem with 4.0.0.3 which i compiled myself.

Hmm, my linux wallets run flawlessly usually, always the windows ones that give me trouble.  I havn't seen this issue with OKcash wallet.  I would recommend going on our Discord and talking with the knowledgable minds there.

http://Discord.io/cryptocurrency

We ve had no problems (nor reports) of this issue over the linux wallets, we have not tested it directly on Linux Mint tho,
so It would be really nice if you can just follow the Discord Link to the live chats so we can research further your issue,
same way you can post the issue with more details like debug logs over the https://okcashtalk.org forums on its "Staking and Technical Support" section,
where it can help other users in the future.

I dont know what i might have missed or forget to do. Your easy install exited with an error, so i opened in nano and just simply followed all commands to download dependancies and source files to compile wallet. Linux mint is based on ubuntu so it should have worked without any hickup. I have noticed that in comparison to windows 7 (where i had close to around 30 GB of  traffic in a month while staking) in linux i have maybe 300MB for period of 5 days.

MYR trades anywhere about Bittrex ?

Yes, trades on Bittrex here: https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-MYR

Also trades on Poloniex and Cryptopia, and possibly Bitsquare.

They need to update coinmarketcap.com.  It says XMY but bitrex and polinex say MYR

It's Bittrex and Polo that need to update....

Just bumped my support ticket to polo that I filed months ago, might help if others also file tickets. Bittrex just wants like 2 BTC or something to update ticker...

Since when bittrex started to do that?

Oktoshi do you plan to replace Berkeley DB 4.8 with newer version? Is there any special reason that OKcash is still on this version?

q= Is there special reason that OKcash is still on DB 4.8.30?

a= Backward compatibility and Licensing protection for all the users (MiT vs Agpl from new BDB versions).

q= Plans to replace DB 4.8.30 with newer version?

a= bDB instead of being upgraded to a newer version should get replaced/moved to a db with permissive license or
ideally should get replaced with internal append only (logdb). We follow the work jonasschnelli is doing in this way for Bitcoin,
so the most probable way OK will take will be the most secure one, the second choice.

Thanks for quick info. I am hoping for second choice. Less fuss while compiling wallet and no need to downgrade DB version on linux for compatibility reason...

I am seeing bunch of picture of paper wallets with visible private keys (some here, some on twitter). Adopt good practice and hide your private keys. The moment that private key becomes visible its no longer yours!!!!

There is a bunch of times I have opened my wallet (on win 7, 10 and my Pi) and found my wallet file has become corrupted, at least I think it is, only copying over a new wallet file seems to fix the error, I have found this to be a consistent problem during power failures of my devices. Is there a way I can stop this from happening or is there a Fix devs can do that will stop this, I have never had this problem with any other coin wallet before dispite having run thus far at least 20-30 wallets of different coins at times over the last 3-4 years... thanks guys.

I have been running OKcash wallet for almost 2 years now (before and after rebrand). Never had any corruption problems on windows. I do have UPS, so i have enough time to shutdown my system if i loose electricity. Considering you're holding virtual money in your wallet i would suggest to invest money in UPS protection to protect your virtual money!

WD is offering 314GB PIdrive specially designed for raspberry pi 3 B/ 2 B.

I checked offical Western Digital store and there is HDD enclosure that fits under official Raspberry PI case. This might be useful to everyone who plan to run ROKOS bitcoin full node.

Oktoshi do you recommend running sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade all the time or leave image as is?

I recommend running it once a month or every 2 months or when critical updates are released, that way the system gets upgraded to latest updates.
(mainly to protect the system and make sure we use the best SSL and security certs to date)

Thanks for quick reply.

Did you test tightvnc on RPI? I installed today, but i was not able to connect from my notebook. I will tinker bit more with it tomorrow, but i am wondering to i need to open port in firewall?

.....New ROKOS v3 "core" requires for Old ROKOS wallets to re-sync (wallet needs db update),
to avoid this step send your coins from previous ROKOS versions to a new address
and then you can transfer them back to your new ROKOS v3 "core" wallet.
ROKOS v3 "core" wallet for OKCash comes already in Sync with an upgraded wallet ready for use.

More info on release.

If we all download same ROKOS v3 linux image for RPI we will all have same default wallet.dat file with same private and public keys? Did i miss something here?
Keep in mind that i did not try it so i dont know how exactly you did the wallet implementation.

ROKOS does not come with wallets, it creates a new wallet for every new user that downloads it and use it.

There is all the info in the ROKOS thread. And already ton of feedback on the ROKOS ann. Feel free to visit to learn more.

Sorry. I totally forgot that that thread exists. I usually monitor this one only for new updates. Thank you for clarifying that part. It had me bit confused. I'll check out that thread for more info.

Wonderful news!
Thank you!

Yw,  Feel free to give a test to InstantOKchain for windows, It makes the first sync process last minutes,
should give a better experience to new users, same as cutting times for new setups.

I know you are a big fan of ROKOS, I am working in the v3 pretty excited all looking good, will just include Bitcoin and OKCash
I would love to share a new ROKOS with at least 10 different clients, but as there has not been funding, hence no time for it
I have to prioritize over OK and BTC, in the future we will set up a voting page, so other coins can get added based on their
communities support and donations if they really are interested in taking part in the project.

The Pi community will love the new ROKOS, we had an OS update so we are using new bases with more features, more details on release.
Thank you again for your dedication. I can hardly wait the ROKOS v3.
I intend to run it on at least 2 RasPi B v2 (one as headless setup and one as "desktop replacement"/testing ground) and I consider an even greener setup with some PV solar cells and cheap NiMH rechargeables for a GreenStaking machine... I just hope I'll have the time for that (and, if I do, I'll post a full "instructable" about it).
OK and ROKOS deserve much more dissemination.

Keep us updated on GreenStaking machine. I am curious how strong batteries need to be and how big panels need to be for it to run flawless...
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [OK] OKCash | Fast and Efficient | POSv2 69% | Social | Payments | Anon on: October 18, 2015, 09:20:24 PM
In the new release announcement I can see this: "Annual % stake change at block: 521,257".

Which stake change we are talking about here? Will the annual stake percent be decreased, or be changed in other way from the current 69%?

I know that text on first page is still lenghty, but if you went on reading you would found answer to your question:

"OKCash is a new Cryptocurrency that was released in November 2014"

"People still have the chance to take advantage of the 69% interest for the first year, and we invite them to do so, as in a few more months the % of stake (interest) will go down to 20% for the second year; still tasty but nothing like starting with 69% !"

"Stake Rewards: 69% 1st Year
| 20% 2nd | 10% 3rd | 6% 4th Year onwards"

Therefore on block 521,257 stake will go down from 69% to 20%.

Hope this helps Smiley

I am not able to see new transaction history in wallet 3.0. I have stake from last night that is still at 32 notifications. I also noticed last night that i get pop up balloons in try for new stake but they dont list in "Transactions" or "Overview". I would love for someone using windows 7 to confirm if this is general problem or just me. Thank you in advance!

Confirmed.

Hi, That is correct, as now we use an html5 framework it seems the transaction/stakes does not refresh, already wrote it down in the issues page, will be fixed with either auto update or manual update buttons for next release.

(This bug only affects the "looks") as the stakes continue to be processed and you can see them after restarting the wallet (which refreshes the page) so will be fixed in the coming release.

Issue Tracker: https://github.com/okcashpro/okcash/issues/4

Thanks for your feedback.

Thanks for the info. I did a test last night on my laptop and issue was repeating itself. I also noticed that wallet is refreshing "Transactions" and "Overview" pages after restart and that stake adds up to total wallet balance. Sorry i did not report this back sooner, i was way to tired last night and went to bed early...
