That vulnerability was taken care of promptly after the community brought it to our attention, which reminds me.
I want to thank the community for all the help they have given us with this. We had a bit of a rocky start, but we seem to have been able to successfully use Bitcoin because of all the help people in the community have given us.

Since the start of the 2011 fundraising campaign Bitcoinn users complained over the fact that they were unable to use the currency they trusted to support a nonprofit they believe in. Wikimedia NYC is a chapter of the Wikimedia Foundation which runs Wikipedia, and it now allows Bitcoiners to use the platform they love to donate to a good cause
. In the past 24 hours alone, over 70BTC has been donated to Wikimedia NYC which will be used for hiring a full time staff member, help run educational outreach programs, and support free culture.
This is one small step toward universal acceptance of Bitcoin one large step closer toward the Wikimedia Foundation fully supporting Bitcoin for donations.
The Wikimedia NYC Bitcoin address is the following: 1F4Ka3nHH3Ef1P2f66AwLEqwHo6J9wFHKC

Neat idea, a little old school, but still cool.

I would like a whitelist because I would post information in treads that are not located in the newbiew section. I especially wish to interact with the community with regards to the Wikimedia NYC chapter.

I guess in a way it does. But not too many people do not have a TV or computer. And for those who cannot afford one they can always just use their local libraries. I also feel it apropriate to mention that internet is a basic right required for all citizens so the government will give them free, but not too good, internet connection.

You make a good point, but on the other hand, I feel like someone should be putting that onto a t-shirt...

Instant transactions would be a great thing, no one hates having to wait ~30 minutes for money they will get, but as n2liquid said, their must be an important reason for it.

Seems like a great idea, can't believe it took so long for this to come along.
