61  Economy / Services / Practice Your English via Skype on: May 30, 2012, 04:28:19 AM
Dear Bitcoiners of the world,

One-on-one Skype sessions are available to you, so you can practice your English speaking with a real native English speaker in America with a Midwestern accent.  I have formal training in English and over seven years of teaching experience, so I can teach you the more advanced parts of the English language.  And/or I can def let you know the latest slang trends of the language.  Reply or PM to schedule a session.

Rate:  2 BTC/30 minute session

Attention scammers:  Are you trying to make a quick coin but continually frustrated with your lack of English skills giving you away as a crook from Nigeria?  With perfect grammatical and syntactical execution, you will be able to scam your way into bitcoin riches after a few practice sessions.   PM me so we can set up a deal.  You go first though.

This excerpt is one of the best things I have read in a long while:

http://economicsandliberty.wordpress.com/a-way-to-be-free/?like=1&_wpnonce=2edf2fd66d

I wish I didn't need to pay some publisher $30 to read the whole thing

If you haven't already bought it, pay $30 (http://goo.gl/rGnwL).  After reading, sell it for $30 on Amazon or on the forums here.  Your financial loss will be...

Amazon fees plus $3 shipping

$3 shipping if you can sell on the forums.

67  Economy / Goods / Re: WTS 525+ Magic The Gathering Cards on: May 22, 2012, 04:51:52 AM
I private messaged all individuals who contacted me but I am not sure it went through.  (The PMs that I sent do not show up in outbox??)

I grossly mis-estimated the amount of cards that I have.  I have 1144 cards.

I was offered 4btc for 525 cards.  At the rate, 525 cards / 4 btc = 131.25 cards / btc

I would accept an offer of 1144 / 131.25 = 8.716 btc for all of the 1144 cards (shipping included).  If possible, I would like to sell all the cards together to minimize shipping costs.

However, the cards are still 75% mirrodin, onslaught, kamigawa...I think 25% are older than that block.

90% excellent quality/10% good quality condition

sorry for the phone pics...the digital camera was dead...

spendbitcoins.com -> amazon giftcard -> http://goo.gl/Ev4p6

It has everything you want and it's new.  The only downside is it's a little above your price point.

Music can only be created so well on a volunteer basis.

Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven created great pieces without copyright.

and the book I linked earlier (http://www.dklevine.com/general/intellectual/against.htm) gives historic examples of copyrights and patents being used as weapons to attack competition like Watt with his steam engine patent.

74  Other / Beginners & Help / Could internet be made illegal? on: January 07, 2012, 01:04:58 AM
If tomorrow all the international drug peddlers, arms dealers, human traffickers, bonsai kitten merchants decided to trade solely on the internet, could the US or any other government actually make the internet itself illegal?  Instead of cracking down on illegal businesses, could a government actually outlaw the process of hosting websites on servers or browsing the internet?
75  Economy / Marketplace / Why are you not selling stuff on Bitcoin Classifieds? on: January 05, 2012, 12:54:12 AM
Bitcoin has the advantage over Amazon and Ebay because you pay almost no fees to send bitcoin.

If bitcoin will succeed, it will be in the online used goods market.

If we list more stuff, eventually there will be stuff people actually want to buy on the site.  People would actually use bitcoins to buy stuff, which would make bitcoin not just a digital speculative game but a real competitive currency

if you don't want the bubble, sell when the price is increasing and buy when the price is decreasing.

VISA/MasterCard are SOPA supporters.  (http://www.neowin.net/news/sopa-supporters-list-updated-godaddy-not-included).  So as the your non-bitcoin buddies rage on about SOPA, tell them to use bitcoin to reduce revenue of VISA/Mastercard, who will use that money to pass SOPA.

80  Other / Beginners & Help / What do you use as your spending wallet? on: January 01, 2012, 03:58:57 AM
I've created a secure savings wallet.  But for everyday transactions, do you use a e-wallet service or the regular client or something?
