1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buying Bitcoins from anyone interested to sell on: June 18, 2011, 10:02:19 AM
if you are serious about getting into bitcoin trading, stop using paypal for your bitcoin-related payments. paypal transactions are reversible, bitcoin transactions are not. I am sure you can see the problem here...

the trick is to use TRUSTED sellers

also, NEVER accept CC paypal.... make sure there only chance of geting the $$ back is with a dispute, no chargebacks, and then you have proof so yes Smiley

you can also make them add in the NOTE that they will not chargeback or dispute the transaction as this is a sell of virtual goods and that they have received them and that they are 100% happy with them and can't change there mind as sale is final

0 years experience in trading. If you would like a donation for the wasted time, please send me your bitcoin address.  Grin

likely in the longterm, i think that the bitcoins is going +1000$ in 10 years. but right now its going down, because its overpriced.

When the exchange rate blasted into the 30s last week I got a little worried that my prediction of no higher than $20/BTC by the end of the year might be wrong.  I'm feeling more confident again.

My bet is no more than 50$ by the end of the year..... 20$ is just too low
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Help - Canadian looking for best way to BTC->USD or CAD on: May 25, 2011, 03:56:53 AM
Ah ok. I was thinking it was a way to get BTC for CAD from a website or something. Do you know of any automated way to convert from BTC to CAD?

nope.... go through USD

Canadian Dollars ($) in Paypal
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: NEW: Individual subscription service for Bitcoin Trading and Market Coverage on: May 22, 2011, 01:11:35 PM
I hope there's still some spots available by the time bitcoin falls to $3.66, because I'd sign up at that price point.  Its worth two subcriptions at $1.10.  I don't think it will, but if it goes below $4, I'll pay.

1 BTC is 1 BTC. And I humbly predict: it will still be 1 BTC in the future.

In other words: I don't quite understand your thinking, unless maybe, you have no Bitcoins at all. Because if you do, that service will be no less expensive for you in the future than it is now. 5 BTC is 5 BTC.

so when 1 zimbabwe dollar went from a 1$ USD value to whatever it became later, its still 1 Zimbabwe dollar so whatever was price 5 Zimbabwe dollars (ie: milk) is worth 5 zimbabwe dollars when its value is 10 000x less in USD? I think not

1 BTC is 1BTC, but 1 BTC now does not mean you can buy the same stuff with it tomorrow or in a year
6  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~1100 Gh/s Mining Pool] SSL, API, instant payouts,LP,+1% for NO INVALID BLOCKS on: May 22, 2011, 05:51:11 AM
Whats maximum balance? My bitcoin client is going to be down so I set my max balance to 900 so it wont auto pay me... I might accumilate like 200-300 btc during my downtime (still mining, which btw i just put up another 1.4 GH/s Smiley)

you dont need your bitcoin client to be up...

as long as the address you put at db is one of the addresses of your wallet your fine

8  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Help - Canadian looking for best way to BTC->USD or CAD on: May 21, 2011, 07:24:32 AM
I've only used PPCAD, no problem so far, 1/3 of my bitcoin selling was for PPCAD (900$ CAD in all)

make sure to make them pay in Payment Owed under Personal Payments... no cross border fees either

I appreciate the free updates, thanks S3052.

TBH it all depends how much you invest in BTC.

I only mine a little so its not worth it for me, but for bigger miners or investors, his analysis is worth a lot more to them
10  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: [MINER] Phoenix - New efficient, fast, modular miner **BFI_INT support!** on: May 20, 2011, 10:33:35 PM
acutally the idle miner problem is getting worse,im switching back to poclbm while its getting fixed
on high aggression the miner idles for about 1-2 seconds every 10-20 seconds

i had that problem with poclbm at some point, but it was due to my crossfire

if you have a sempron, no games would run well, so the CPU would be a "bottleneck" Think a neck of the bottle, which limits the amount of fluid the goes through.

I find i5 2500K systems to be cheap for what they are Smiley

99.99$, GREAT price
RAGEEEEEEE

I just bought three of those for $30 more than I needed to!

I guess they'll be here two days earlier than if I had ordered them now though... 2 days of mining @ 800MH/s = 5.67 BTC = $36.87.  So I guess I'm ok.  Tongue

newegg are good with this kinda stuff... try contacting them

you need to relax a little bit.

Well he's found 7. That's 7 more than there should be.

Btw - I also love his latest 2 charts / counts. It either goes up or it goes down(lest it move sideways?).

Analyst 101: Afterwards you definitely "Called it" if you mention both sides.

But yea, I can't chase after this all day, I agree.
But it did deserve at least an attempt at saving some souls / coins.
I can't count the amount of times people have tried(and done) this on the expense of others over the last 3-4 years in various trading related forums.

At the very least do due diligence people. A couple of forum threads/accounts and twitter is not it.

If this doesn't interest you GTFO and stop crapping on this thread.... S3052 has already proven himself many times with the community. Not to mention he called the drop of silver's price

Giving different scenarios with a chance of success is, IMO best way to analyse ANYTHING in life. I often do the same.

So I'll state this again for you, GTFO. There is nothing bad about offering this for the community, there is absolutely no intention of stealing money or any other shady business, so all your accusations are stupid and annoying.

Get. The. Fuck. Out
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Technical Analysis on: May 20, 2011, 10:08:00 PM
I'm hoping a slide down to 5$, hopefully even 4$, but not much more than that.

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/motherboards/2010/04/27/msi-890fxa-gd70-motherboard-review/1

Could somebody explain to me what does "Expansion slots Four 16x PCI-E 2.0 slots (two 16x or four 8x)" means according to mining? Does it means that if I will use four HD 5870 then they will work on only half of their performance?

It has no impact on bitcoin mining...  Just on playing video games Smiley

x16 to x8 doesnt even have an impact in games Smiley
16  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Does deepbit rip people off? on: May 19, 2011, 08:44:54 PM
make sure to set the average to 30 minutes and report back... ignore the other losers who are unhelpful
17  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Lowering mem clock to idle speeds SPEEDS UP Mh/s on: May 19, 2011, 04:05:01 PM
I didn't read the last 2 pages but I wanted to give my opinion of what is happening, it's either:

1. Ram Latency is being reduced (as was already mentioned)

2. Clock dividers being used between core and memory are hitting a favorable divider at the "sweet spot", favorable meaning most efficient

This kind of thing used to happen for example on p35 chipsets, there were some bus frequencies that while lower, were faster due to "memory latches" (latencies used) and ram dividers

I think it is number 2, as between 344 and 343 or 344 and 345, I lose ~2Mh/s
18  Other / Obsolete (buying) / Re: What are the odds of the BTC reaching 20 USD this summer? on: May 19, 2011, 04:58:45 AM
I was thinking last night about the price of a contract that paid out 1 BTC a day for 100 days.

I'll sell it to you for 800$ Smiley

20  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Buying a videocard. on: May 19, 2011, 04:36:41 AM
nster what video card would you recommend if I don't have a budget at all Huh

Also thinking what card would be best if this goes bust, though I'm hoping it won't etc. ?

no budget = unlimited funds or 0 funds?

unlimited, the 6990 of course, 0 funds, whatever you have of course Smiley

If you game etc, I find the 6950 1GB to be the best value, if only mining, it is hard to say.... 4* 5970 or 4* 6990 would be best on a single motherboard cost effective-wise... Used 5970 @ 400$ each would be phenomenal value. But with such high difficulty, idk if buying a rig only for mining is the smartest idea
