761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is the "internet industry" opposed to bitcoin? on: July 10, 2012, 10:00:54 AM
A venture capitalist already made a bet on bitcoin and his name is PG. The rest will follow.

Why? They don't wanna miss the next Google.
762  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just got hacked and lost 65 bitcoins on bitdaytrade.com on: July 10, 2012, 04:17:49 AM
yes it did but I never enable that feature, and I sad that I never used it Sad

You should!
763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just got hacked and lost 65 bitcoins on bitdaytrade.com on: July 10, 2012, 02:40:09 AM
Did it have 2 factor authentication?
764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Donations to promote Bitcoin via mass media on: July 10, 2012, 02:29:31 AM
Why should we trust you?
765  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Introducing the Mt.Gox Trusted Vendor Program on: July 09, 2012, 11:51:59 AM

In the context of this solely being used to verify that people are who they say they are where exactly does the government part come into this?

AML/KYC is often associated with the company sending financial information to the government on the activities of their client. However, verification is different.
766  Other / Off-topic / Re: CNN Story on Silk Road - Bitcoin not mentioned on: July 09, 2012, 10:39:47 AM
Well such publicity as this is sure to bring attention to BTC and raise rates if it hasn't done so already. Its not like you can use silkroad without knowing BTC.

I don't mind them fear mongering, it will just make us look stronger when "the angry mob" hits a freaking wall.

For the last two month, the price of bitcoin was impervious to publicity.
767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mappers vs Packers. Why Most People Don't Get Bitcoin on: July 09, 2012, 01:25:10 AM
while the majority of adults are set in their ways and become more stuck as they age.

768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Posting comments in news sites on: July 08, 2012, 01:18:20 PM
I know, but instead I have tried to do things differently... Rather than talk about bitcoin, I generally talk about the article, and then at the end mention how Bitcoin is available and let them research more into it if they want. I dont even post a link to the site because that might be seen as spam/advertising...

And bitcoin should fit with the story. If not, no use mentioning it.
769  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Legality of IPOing securities on GLBSE on: July 08, 2012, 02:15:30 AM

So the "CEO" had $12K USD of funds on Mt. Gox, didn't have two-factor authentication, and the funds got stolen.

Ouch! Such an elementary mistake and shame on investors not doing their due diligence.
770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sorry, I've been out of it for a while, but when did this whole thing start? on: July 07, 2012, 11:47:57 AM
BTC

It works!
771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Chrome Extension on: July 07, 2012, 11:46:15 AM
Does it recognize bitcoin addresses and make them clickable a la skype? I think bitcoin needs a plugin like that.

It suppose to have that kind of capability but I am not sure if it still works.
772  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Chrome Extension on: July 07, 2012, 08:34:45 AM
I am less worried about that then browser bugs or otherwise leaking this data but I still think it is cool!

I am sorry that you don't feel comfortable using this extension. Sad
773  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Announcing BitcoinFunding.com The BEST bitcoin fundraising method on the planet on: July 07, 2012, 08:28:33 AM

Yeah but... that is 900 times more work... or 900 times more quantity of angel investors which quite frankly I am not sure a service like this will end up with that many users within the foreseeable future.  As the administrator it is my responsibility to make sure projects can get funded within the time limit before they expire and the site is nowhere near a 1000 x N number of contributors.  Maybe it will be different in 6 months or a year from now, no one knows, I am open to being convinced that I am wrong  Smiley

Kickstarter type projects have investors?  Huh
774  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Announcing BitcoinFunding.com The BEST bitcoin fundraising method on the planet on: July 07, 2012, 03:22:38 AM
Does it have an API?
775  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2012-07-06 technologyspectator.com.au - Cashing in on Kaching on: July 07, 2012, 03:07:09 AM
Proofer: broke link.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

Dude deleted his post.
776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Chrome Extension on: July 06, 2012, 10:32:19 PM
I think this is cool.  Just don't know if I trust it.

It's an open source project. You can look at the source code and see if I am secretly stealing bitcoin from you guys.
777  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Chrome Extension on: July 06, 2012, 10:31:25 PM
My tip to improve interest: the very first sentence of your very first post should be a simple statement of what this extension does (that's all most people are gonna care about). The first post is too mish-mashy for the casual reader to be able to see what it does, and thus not be interested.

Thanks. I improved  it by saying what the bitcoin extension actually does.

779  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think about the 2012 doomsday, I mean really.. it is different. on: July 06, 2012, 03:55:25 PM
It's all just a coincidence.  Wink
780  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for partners (ideally, designers) to work on bitcoin-related projects. on: July 06, 2012, 02:39:01 PM
Just use bootstrap for everything. Once your project takes off, hire a designer.

Also, I am looking for people to help work on making the bitcoin extension for chrome more useful.
