People should be rewarded with partial answer somehow. One guy might not have all the parts of an answer, but several people will.

@kiba we're working with django and postgres. We definitively could use some help with the bitcoind interface, (django-bitcoin). If you are a python/django coder, please send me an email (wladston at wladston.net) and we'll talk.

I am no django developer, but I am a ruby on rails developer. Should I still apply?

What's your technology stack and is it possible that I could do some development in exchange for some bitcoin?
864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Going to try a few Bitcoin advertising platforms... on: May 29, 2012, 12:52:45 AM

To be honest, my favorite method is the one Operation Fabulous uses. I really think it's an intelligent system. The problem is it seems to be over most people's heads. I know that's a dick thing to say, but I don't think most people see the brilliance in it.

As a publisher, I love the fact that I can literally walk away and don't have to manage anything.

Anyway, the reason why operationfabulous is like that is because of a non-BTC site called projectwonderful.com.
865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTCChina - Highest trading volume ever today on: May 27, 2012, 05:06:06 AM
Very interesting going-on. I wonder if this mean that the price of bitcoin in USD will break out too?

Or is the BTChina just an anomalous price that will no doubt get a correction?
866  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoinfeedback.com - How can I make it better? on: May 26, 2012, 11:42:20 PM
I forgot my password. Is there a password recovery mechanism around here?

This thread reminds me of a story I wrote about bitcoin. http://bitcoinweekly.com/articles/bitcoin-rising

I hope they don't get hacked.

Does that sound like a person who wants to sell his company? Zhou was not only the Bitcoin president and inventor, but also its sole employee.

It sounds wrong. Satoshi is the inventor and there is no bitcoin company. Maybe he means a bitcoin related president and entrepreneur.

870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin democratic? on: May 17, 2012, 08:45:23 PM
We should taboo the word "democratic" from this discussion.
871  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2012-05-16 huffingtonpost.com - What The Bitcoin Experiment Started on: May 17, 2012, 08:09:21 PM
It feel like an incomplete article.
872  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin" is now a registered trademark in the UK on: May 17, 2012, 07:07:09 PM
The bitcoin trademark should eventually transferred to a bitcoin foundation or something.
873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin democratic? on: May 17, 2012, 05:33:15 PM
It's certainly not democratic. People don't vote. People do consenus or start their own network.

I have no idea what twitter bootstrapize and jquerize means... SEO stuff or something?  Or is it for design?

I am no web deisgner, remember! Just want your site to look great by default.
875  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoinfeedback.com - How can I make it better? on: May 17, 2012, 05:19:53 PM
Mmmmm, smexy.  I might have to take you up on that offer!

Cool! Let discuss the price and the work via email. I am at hackerkiba at gmail.com.

876  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoinfeedback.com - How can I make it better? on: May 17, 2012, 02:01:24 AM
Hire me, and I will twitter bootstrapize it and jquerize it.  Wink

After your site is made pretty and generic, you should hire a designer who know how to turn it into a not-generic bootstrap website.

(I am just a coder who can't choose color combinations to save his life. Twitter bootstrap help me make pretty web app by default.)
877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Emergency ANN] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: May 12, 2012, 11:46:00 PM
The more serious thing is that we may need additional time to provide the details. We are working with Rackspace to know more about this issue.

EDIT: There's no additional financial loss. We have revoked the withdrawal API key.

Some people said you should never host with a VPS or do dedicated hosting and instead do everything with colocation hosting. What do you think of that?
878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Emergency ANN] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: May 11, 2012, 02:54:02 PM

Ok. The password reset email was sent to four addresses. I can already confirm that two of them are not compromised. We are waiting for the rest to wake up and check their email accounts. The email account compromise is the direct cause.

Would it make sense to require 2-factor authentication for everybody?
879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Emergency ANN] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: May 11, 2012, 02:52:39 PM
Sorry to hear about this again.

It seems Bitcoinica got swindled for another 100k$, this time they got "smarter",  instead of cheapest possible VPS, they went for most expensive possible Dedicated (or is it still vps's?).

Personally, I find erring for convenience over security to be a questionable practice.
880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Emergency ANN] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: May 11, 2012, 02:36:34 PM

So, you are still not in control of Bitcoinica?
Then, tell us, who are the decision makers that will decide if customers get reimbursed, as Zhou Tong already pointed out that it would not be his decision but from someone else?

Interesting. I didn't know the organizational structure of Bitcoinica changed recently. If I were in charge, I would still reimburse the dude.
