1  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE] #1 Bitmain Antminer U1 USB Erupter [33 left] on: December 27, 2013, 06:01:07 PM
My PP refund was issued at 05:08am Dec 26th (time as stated in my gmail account), was noted in my account  when I checked around 9am that day. It had cleared by 8:30am this morning. I used a UK mastercard if that makes any difference.

Well I am clearly out, because, well, I don't know why.

Could it be the extraordinary greed shown by some in this thread? I'm sure that dave111223 will be first in the queue for the redistribution for "unavailable on christmas/boxing day" people who didn't respond. I guess people should be hanging on every beep and ding and "you have mail"  during this time. Forget about, you know, family and friends.

Could it be the refunded paypal with no indication of why it was refunded? or even notification that it was refunded? or even that I was still on the list? and do you REALLY think that I am going to pay 0.1+shipping+fees for 2 sticks 8% higher than I had ALREADY paid? Not barring the fact that I covered the amount using a card which locked the refund's availability until this morning, so that I couldn't put it through an exchange.

Do you really think that I am going to pay DOUBLE what the 51+ buyers are?  a 33% premium above 0.7. was pushing it, but 100% (the effective valuation of 45/500*3+ 1 free.

In the unlikely event that someone would be willing, I would pay 120GBP +p&P <10GBP for 4 USB sticks, period. Even if that means I have to wait for UK delivery. That is 0.3BTC that I could have purchased at 400GBP which was above the 360GBP that I could have paid for prior to Christmas, but instead chose paypal as a convenience for escrow/chargebacks for both parties. But I am sure that greed will out, and the sticks will end up on ebay (oh wait they already are at 65GBP for tuesday 31st delivery)

So in all, I am out.

EDIT: even before I posted this, dave111223 has just posted a 0.0703per stick. Congratulations. You've just pushed well into farce...

2 x.0.1 = 0.2             = 0.1 per stick      33% premium above
3 x 0.1 = 0.3  + 1 free = 0.075 per stick
4 x 0.0703 =  0.2812   = 0.0703 per stick.

and, oh, look that works out at  35GBPa stick at 480GBP , whereas I had paid 91.30/2= 45.85 a stick.

Even more now, I am convinced none of you have a clue what you are doing.

Well it is now pretty much buy 2 get 1 free :-) Which I would go for, I'd even forgo the 0.002 you'd make. Put it towards the beer you'll undoubtedly need.

2*0.1 = 0.2
3*0.066  = 0.198

1BTC @650USD = 1.3usd left over (0.02).

It will probably stop you having to mess around with refunds and resubmissions.

What about at the burningman festival?

Do it right and you'll have solar power, an OpenBTS mobile phone point.

7  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Mixed operating system PXE booting on: April 24, 2012, 11:40:02 AM
I could use some advice from anyone who has had some experience with various PXE configurations.

Here's what I want to do.  I have a few machines that mostly mine using BAMT.  But on occasion I want them to load a Windows image for some Windows-only software.

Is there a way for this to be done? If so, how?
Does the board have more than one nic and can boot from them? if so assign a mac address to an ip in the dhcp server, and then assign images to ip pools.

Then just swap the cable and reboot.

or just swap ip addresses between pools that have images associated with them.

ie. 192.168.0.1-192.168.0.15 = /pxe/boot/windows.img
    192.168.0.32-192.168.0.63  = /pxe/boot/bamt.img

depending on the tftp server, you may need to just swap <ma.ca.dd.rr.ee.ss>.cnf.

Quote
Also, can I centrally reboot these machines and have them restart with a different image?  For example, let's say a rig is running a BAMT image now but I want it to switch over to Windows.  Can I tell the rig to reboot and load the Windows image from a central point?

that would probably require a script to alter the ip address(es) within dhcp then issue a remote login using ssh to reboot.

A windows reboot can also do the same by using from another windows machine "shutdown -m \\<computername" etc. "shutdown /?" for details of remote restart. will require a username password unless you have a domain/admin account.

Log in, and then visit the TOS page and see if you have the accept buttons.

If no, I'll do a reset for you.

Zhou,

the buttons don't appear on http://bitcoinica.com/pages/tos for me. However I appear to have a /pages/tos_agree in my browser history.

If you can reset it so that I can definitely click the agree, that would be great. Thanks.

I have http://bitcoinica.com/trading on a bookmark page that I normally click to either immediately start, or if it is a new browser session go through the login page.

Recently with the new TOS, an accept / decline button confirmation for the TOS appeared. However I reclicked the bookmark thinking that I had missed and got another page instead (I had already looked at the ToS page earlier that day)

However I have not actually been able to get back to the accept / decline page.

What state would my account be in? and can you reset it so that I can click accept or decline if it is not already in an accepted state.

I began looking into filing for legal non profit organization status for my corporation.

If I do so then investors will be happy to know I will follow up buy releasing an actual IPO on the New York Stock exchange.

er.. can a nonprofit float on NYSE? and isn't there supposed to be a minimum turnover/revenue stream?

11  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Dividend Returns - updated weekly on: April 22, 2012, 09:53:38 PM
...  I will be adding a monthly dividend payout at the end of this month.  I am looking forward to the API.  If it does not come out soon I may write something that will just take the twitter feed and do this automatically for me.  I have never looked at the Twitter feed before, and doing it now I don't see any notification of dividends.  I only see trades, but I will keep an eye on it.

You'd be better off with beautifulsoup or similar to screenscrape until the api comes out, which was supposed to have been by now. Dividends are not recorded in the twitter feed - might be worth getting nefario to add.

There is also an IRC feed on #bitcoin-assets-trades which lists in the format,

[22:24:07] <+`MBot> [ GLBSE ] [ TRADE ] [ FPGA-EU ] [ 2 @ 0.36 = 0.720000 BTC ]
[22:24:45] <+`MBot> [ GLBSE ] [ TRADE ] [ PUREMINING ] [ 2 @ 0.37 = 0.740000 BTC ]

#bitcoin-assets also has chat in it about glbse and mpex, along with the ability to get volume information with the command !ticker <SYMBOL>.

Does anyone know any information about the assets MATH or FPGA-EU?  I have searched the forums but have not found any information regarding them.

did that include the glbse forums at https://glbse.com/forum/index.php

I'm currently locked out until I get a password reset, but I also did a hunt around for these earlier this week and couldn't find anything.

You should probably come up with a name for the "OEIO."  Wink

imsaguy's OEIO doesn't work for you?

Obviously it has to be Imsaguy's Reverse Farm.

At first, I was going to say obvious troll thread is obvious, but then I see that the company is actually listed on GLBSE. Now all I have to say is lol.

20 BTC for some elaborate trolling isn't necessarily too high a price to pay.

glbse registration fee is 8BTC

20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Chrome Browser extension: MtGox trading bot on: April 19, 2012, 12:26:23 AM
I have a weird bug with it. Every once in a while the bot says "troubles accessing your account", even though the api key and api secret are filled out. Then I go check the options page, and I don't even change anything and just click "Apply and save changes" and it somehow fixes it, but then 1 or 2h later the bot is broken again. What could be doing this?

mtgox has a default timeout period which is less than an hour I think. Go into settings and make it over an hour, or the next timestep up from your bot trading time. That should help.
