681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Indiscipline and Greed on: March 06, 2020, 10:03:48 AM
Trading cryotocurrencies is not so easy but very profitable.  majority find it difficult to retain their profit after a successful trade which is mostly caused by greed and indiscipline. When you have made enough money, it's better to call it a day and wait for another day of opportunity. Instead, indiscipline will make you open another trade to make more money which is what usually  lead to  losing the profit you already made from your first trade. Anyone can make this mistake and the most important lesson is to learn from our past mistakes because the mistakes are the lessons.

True words you have said and it can't be argued whatsoever. Greed has done more harm than good to traders, I have seen traders who regret entering one trade or the other and when asked, I found out they didn't analyse well before entering, and what really caused this? The entered because it looks profitable and the profit from past trade was available so it was easy to enter, what if the profit was in another wallet, maybe they might have a changed mind. Having a target is one thing and sticking to it is another, so I think traders should be disciplined, once gotten the target for the day exit the market, rest, analyse and come back another day, there are many coins and there will be Opportunities everyday.
682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eth is no different than a fiat currency? on: March 04, 2020, 11:19:30 AM
https://offthechain.substack.com/p/eth-is-no-different-than-a-fiat-currency

I just read the article above and would like to know whats your take on this. For me it seems true that Bitcoin is much more decentralized than Ethereum and so, much different than fiat money compared to Ethereum, still Ethereum aim is to reduce Eth issuance and it's much more transparent than fiat money. I would say Eth it's not so different as Bitcoin but still very different than a fiat currency and more decentralized.

Truly, Bitcoin is more decentralized than every other coin inclusive of ETH and also both are different from fiat currency. Fiat currency is the currency of a country which is managed by that country, it has no smart contracts in the case of Ethereum, has no blockchain but instead a centralized system managed by Individuals. Also not only ETH, Bitcoin as well is more transparent than fiat and can be used for different payments without absurd charges like the one seen in fiat currency. In fact there is a whole lot of difference between fiat and cryptocurrencies like Eth and Bitcoin.
683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IS SHIPCHAIN A SCAM OR A REVOLUTION ? on: March 04, 2020, 11:00:33 AM
read this article for yourself https://medium.com/@shipmateFRnl/shipchain-scam-or-revolution-faq-f10fe2452e7a

I need your thoughts about this token that still been strong for the past two years.. I return to this forum and hoping about their progress this month..

Think about of all projects that had a large community existed on the past two years most of them didn't survive. The devs abandoned their community for the reason of frustration and only false expectations that they could reach moon..
But unlike SHIPCHAIN they still fight and find ways for their company and it seems very legitimate project for me...

What are your thoughts about them? Looks like a good investment.. Grin

Investing in any coin is all about money and the investing will continue only if the team keeps bringing reason why people should still buy and hold their token. Many coins are down from their ICO price but are still existing and trying their best to remain strong amidst every challenge thus people still find it worthwhile to invest but a coin which is down from its ICO price and stops development isn't worth investing. Therefore if the team within this project are really serious to work and also stick to the launching of their mainnet then there might a turnaround in price etc.
684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does it have volume ? on: March 04, 2020, 10:51:07 AM
Sometimes, as a trader or an investor. you wonder why you miss out on tokens that does 400-6000 % increase.

You will also wonder how it missed your grasp, but do you bother to check if it has volume ?
Do you bother to check if it has buyers ? Do you further find out, if it a true pump ?

Be patient, and figure out your research functions well.

I hope i was able to present my views. do correct and suggest further opinions too

You really asked good questions, this issue of volume can be quite deceiving especially on shit exchanges. There was a time I held a token and I found out it was pumping, I didn't fully checked the exchange only to send the token and found out the truth, it wasn't a true pump and the orders were nothing to write home about. When a token pumps on good exchanges everyone tends to know and most times it might last a while but on shit exchanges the pump and dump might happen in a few minutes and that's it, most will turn to bag holders. Therefore just like you said, lets always endeavour to check out the neccessary things before being overwhelmed with coins that are pumping.
685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why most of ALTCOINS are dead or worthless? on: March 04, 2020, 10:41:01 AM
In beginning of 2018 there were a lot of alcoins was launched in market, Most of them was just to scam people with typically referral method by social influencers.

This was also a flaw of Ethereum blockchain where any single person can create his own coin with his desired supply and name by costing very low fee.

As with the help of Ethereum blockchain where it was super easy to generate any coin it was easy to launch any ico with high promising goals and convince people to make their money multiple x.

Those scam or ordinary platform make alt market dirty game. And this impact very badly on the genion project where many traders lost their interest.

An altcoin can only be worthless or dead when the team want it to, that is, is it possible for someone to be working on a project, putting his efforts, money, time etc and the project still dies? The answer is NO. So everything comes down to the team playing their part, if they are willing to work, the project will continue surviving and so is the altcoin as well. On the other hand, there is no need to blame Ethereum blockchain for anything, humans are unpredictable and those creating scam projects were after money while some who created a good project were after the well-being of humans. Furthermore, there are still scam projects coming up everyday so there is need for due diligence at all times.
686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trust wallet rocks on: March 03, 2020, 08:36:17 AM
I used to be so obsessed with coinomi wallet because it support many altcoins, maybe because I find it more better than myether and copay and later I decide to try trust wallet, I was surprised that right after importing my private key all my altcoins are ready for me including every single ERC20 tokens I own, Trust wallet get rid of adding tokens manually and in fact it shows every price of the tokens that are listed and trading, now I can't stop loving the wallet, way better than coinomi now

That's true and your experience is true as well, because am a user, have been using it for quite some time now. One of the features I like must is that, it is a multi wallet thus you can still use it to store your Bitcoin and other types of coins too. You can also import several wallets as easy as possible so far the private keys are available. It also has a DApp browser for more privacy, in the same way there are a good number of supported decentralized applications.
687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to avoid fraudulent projects? on: March 03, 2020, 08:21:36 AM
I think there is still a way to overcome the problem of scamers in this crypto room (but I'm not saying to eliminate it completely). . This might not have a big effect but at least it can reduce some of the fraud projects that exist in this industry. . like avoiding and not promoting suspicious projects repeatedly. .
I have always observed that many of them and even have high ratings but still support suspicious projects, especially participants (social media).
maybe this is one reason why many fraud projects are increasingly rampant, because someone always gives hope to them and makes someone trapped in it.

so what do you think?
I draw the conclusion above based on what I saw there.

Scammers won't just rest as they believe there are still people who will fall into their traps which is quite true as well, and mostly these type of individuals are those who are either greedy or follows what people say about a project without due diligence. Talking about high ratings, all these rating websites are not to be trusted again as many projects has passed through them and still exit scam. Also, promotion of fraudulent projects is likely not to stop because these projects will come up with a huge reward and since there are people who don't bother checking a project, with that reward they will be drawn to promote it without any due diligence whatsoever. So I think, until people start asking the right questions and doing the right thing, all these fraudulent projects will die slowly or reduce to the lowest minimum.
688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I feared new altcoins might be left out on: March 03, 2020, 08:11:06 AM
I feared new altcoins will be left out so i start selling some coins for bitcoin because it can be a big blow if altcoin fails to surge like in 2017 after bitcoin reach a new ATH, what do you think? And what would you have done in my position

It is true that most altcoins would be left out to die but it really depends on the type of altcoin. There are a great number of altcoins today and holding the one with no prospect will only lead to loss, holding the pump and dump altcoins is also a bad decision. Now, about selling your altcoins to BTC is a good move as holding BTC is always the best to hold, coupled with few altcoins so as to balance everything. So the idea is, hold good altcoins like ETH and hold BTC in a good amount.
689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Protect Yourself And You Protect Your Assets on: March 02, 2020, 05:46:47 PM
You are right and I think what leads to people exposing their portfolio might be as a result of showing off because I don't understand why someone would put himself at unnecessary risks when knowing how trickish humans can be. Also, even at keeping portfolios a secret let's also be at alert on how we talk, anyone seeking knowledge about cryptocurrencies should be properly educated and invest at his own terms so as not to bring unnecessary issues among friends and families. Lastly, let's protect our mobile wallets, if possible use an app lock to lock them just to be safe especially for those who gives out their phones to people.
690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Please help! Is this scam or not? on: March 02, 2020, 05:29:41 PM
Hi All, a friend send me a message with info about a new token name NLC (Night Light Coin) with domain nlccoin.com
But the condition to receive the token airdrop is have to transfer ETH to this address: 0x36afEe66EA8d6a99A9c6c7e676D512eA4A19bC83
I'm not sure if this project is real or from any scammer to cheat everyone. Please give me some advice
Thank you

You are not participating in IEO or public sale so I wonder why you would think of sending your ETH in exchange for a token, an Airdrop token for that matter, which probably might not be listed nor have any value nor any good thing to offer at all. This is a cheap scam, therefore don't send any ETH rather delete the message because it won't end well. Good airdrops don't require your Eth rather it requires you carrying out some tasks after which you are sent the Airdrop token, so any airdrop asking for payment before sending the token is a scam.
691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why lots of people got scam easily on: March 02, 2020, 05:21:18 PM

That's a good list and the reality of it as well. Starting with no knowledge of the project, they tend to invest is as a result of hype which has already blinded them from seeking for more knowledge. Most new projects are good in creating hype and once done perfectly they will attract the gullible users. From lack of knowledge leads to users trusting the review of others or experts more than anything thus even to the extent of being greedy to invest all their savings.
692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can ETH reach $5k in this up cycle ? on: March 02, 2020, 05:01:08 PM
What do you guys think ? I discuss some reasons why it might here : https://youtu.be/8Rg-CM2s7Q0

Even though I hold ETH and regard it as the best altcoin I can't and won't give myself such false hope by thinking that price will be achieved in this cycle. No matter what anyone say, it pays to be realistic atimes; take a look at the market and see how unpredictable it is, how volatile it is and how many things affects it, then someone somewhere is predicting such price for ETH, the question is what would be the price of Bitcoin then? The reality is, a great number of people prefer Bitcoin to other coins and it won't change anytime soon, so it's better we remove such anticipated price for now from our minds and allow the market do its thing. Let's get above $500, then maybe $1000 will be achieved but $5000 is not happening anytime soon.
693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trust Wallet - Trustworthy? on: February 28, 2020, 10:06:05 PM
I am using Trust Waklet on my handphone. Basically it stores all my coins. But I wonder is it safe? What if my phone crash. What if I buy a new phone and need to transfer the wallet over? Is there any best practices for Trust Wallet. This is basically my entire fortune and I am trying to be as safe as possible

To begin with, Trust wallet is a nice and wonderful crypto wallet which can support more than one type of coins of which you know, I have been using it and no issue till date, thus from my own understanding, it is safe. Secondly the first thing to do once you install a new wallet or once you are creating a new wallet be it Trust wallet or whichever is to take note of your private keys or backup phrases, with these, even if you change a new phone you can easily import your wallets.
694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't just hold your altcoins for a long time! on: February 27, 2020, 04:33:03 PM
Don't hold some good but random altcoins for a long time. If you still want to hold then don't leave their telegram group or other social accounts, check updates on a regular basis. Because if you just hold and keep it in a wallet for 2 years then who knows after 2 years your coin's value may turn into zero value, because of the swap!

I lost many coins because of swap things! Recently Insolar is swapping their token, I did not know about it, because I have been holding for two years but did not care enough as the price was very low! Today I was checking the Coinmarketap android app and saw Insolar coin increased by 530% but their ticker is XNS when I knew it was INS! So, I joined their telegram and get the updates about the swap! Unfortunately, If I fail to swap on time then all of the value of my holding coins will be zero! So, except Bitcoin, Ethereum, don't trust any coin for just buy and hold for a long time, rather keep updating yourself!

Most times you hear people saying holding is bad and it is this issue of swapping that causes it, hence the total concentration on major altcoins which are already built and have a clear line of development.  But from another angle, most of the projects doing swapping is all for the betterment of the platform as they wish to migrate to their own blockchain so as to fulfill their obligations. Which is also a good reason to have a good roadmap as to when swapping is anticipated to take place, so that every potential investor can have that in mind prior to investing. In the same way, visiting the telegram group once in a while saves unfortunate circumstances.
695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another STO failed! STO won't work anymore. on: February 27, 2020, 04:25:27 PM
Today I just noticed another good looking STO failed, and that STO project name is Liqio Exchange! I have never seen an STO that raised good money and doing good in the market! So why they keep coming I don't have any idea about it. I told all my friends that don't join in any STO bounty, just ignore them.

Liqio STO failed, source: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5210813.0

Sincerely all these failed STOs isn't giving the STO method of public fundraising a good name at all. When one meets a new STO, the failed ones will come to mind thus discouraging the potential investors. However, I think if STO is worked on and a good project with good ideas and maybe with an already developed products comes to play, through the right promotion and marketing it might perform well, because I still think good promotion matters too. Lastly the team have a big role to play, because everything starts with them, hence the need for an already developed product to start with.
696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Consider All Altcoins Bad on: February 27, 2020, 04:21:43 PM
The question is why do some people generalize all Altcoins as bad? considering there are over 3000 of them out there. One would not have the time to go through each project one by one. to analyze the project. team etc everything behind each crypto project.
There has to be some project out there under good intentions. Not all projects could be a scam. I admit I only have a top 4 i consider when it comes to best coins. But yet many should be decent at least honest projects out there. Afterall we do need more projects. more quality projects out there in order for crypto to succeed.

your thoughts

Truly generalizing that all altcoins are bad is totally wrong I believe anyone saying such might have participated in bad projects which dealt with him thus the generalization. There are many altcoins which are good even though they aren't among the top altcoins, the team within these altcoins are working hard and their community is seeing the results as well, there are many of them out there it only takes good research to point them out. Also, if one is skeptical on the type of coin to hold, starting with top altcoins is also good.
697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Guys, be aware of a new scam! Stay safe with your funds! on: February 26, 2020, 12:53:00 PM
As the crypto community become smart, scammers are not just sitting there. They are making new plans to scam people. Recently a smart scam idea they whelp and that is youtube live streaming! Lots of people are falling those scams even one of my crypto mentors shared that link to participate!

Scammers are hacking youtube channels which have at least 10K subscribers to 80K! Then they collect some famous crypto meetup or interview videos! Later they make live streaming with that downloaded video, and announce a giveaway of 100K BTC or 100K ETH, BCH, XRP and so on! Can you imagine how smart this shit idea is? However, at the corner or left side of that live streaming they add a live transaction banner where you can see that if you send 1 Ethereum, you will get 5 or 10 Ethereum instantly!

If you ever fall in that trap means you are done, you fall in the scam and lost your money forever! Guys, be aware, always check a coin's official twitter handle to verify every giveaway! Don't fall in the scam, let scammers cry and die!

Someone coming across this type of activity and still goes ahead to send his hard earned ETH needs serious educating on the blockchain space, it protrarys scam by mare looking at it and it is not only on YouTube but on Twitter as well. Am just wondering that a project looking for ways to improve on their platform to make it more valuable will be generous enough to send 5-10 ETH just like that, if they want promotion they can launch a bounty or airdrop with Information clearly stated on their social media accounts. Let's be careful and try as much as possible to be okay with what we have, because greediness is also one of the things which causes people to fall for this type of scam.
698  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Support Deposit and Withdrawaals in Hongkong on: February 26, 2020, 12:45:56 PM
This is in addition to other fiat currencies already supported, that is, Binance tends to have the highest fiat support, at least from my own understanding. Another thing is, it also comes with friendly deposit and withdrawal fee thus making it unresistable to use Binance for fiat services.  This has also gone a long way to show that Binance is opting for global dominance in the aspect of crypto and fiat exchange which is good for the crypto space and the exchange as well.
699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reason behind ALTCOINS not bouncing Back on: February 26, 2020, 12:37:47 PM
Since last few months almost majority of trader/Investor are seems like hopeless or bored from this dead marked, Expect whales or manipulator. Here are many are at safe side by making some decent moves during a little recovery season, But still a majority of peoples are in extreme loss or average loss. Here is many aspect behind the all scenario. A few are following:

        a) We always expect a big hit and don't trade according plan.
        b) Many strong projects are effected due to shitcoins performance.
        c) Altcoin will still remain dead due to Bitcoin's FOMO
        d) Worst reasoning why Alt market will not be bounce back at the position where it was before all this mess is
Most project dump their whole supply in market on its investors.

When a project have nothing to offer why would investors still get involved with it? When a project losts track of their vision why would Investors still associates with it? When a project still finds it hard expanding their services and growth why would investors associate with it? When a project is affected by all these why getting involved when there are better options. In my own opinion I tend to deviate a little from your list because even when Bitcoin is growing in price there are altcoins also doing that with it. Bear market affects all coins and during this time if a project shows lack of concern investors will move to another which have a good chance of recovering from the bear market, that is why when most will bounce back some won't..
700  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ImToken lost mnemonic on: February 25, 2020, 02:25:02 PM
Hello, I've done dumbest thing I could ever do. I left Cloud2.0 to and send assetets newly created wallet ImToken, i supposed to receive my ETH in 7-14 days. However something distracted me when creating account and didn't save file with  written mnemonic phrases. My question is " Will i need these to send crypto to another wallet/binance ? "

First your mnemonic phrases is not something to joke with, as one mistake will make you lose total control of the wallet, you should know this for future reference. Secondly, there is no need for mnemonic phrases when sending tokens the only security requirements is your password. Thirdly open your wallet and goto settings to access the private key which you can also use, it is just like mnemonic phrases, that is, serves same function. Lastly, if you think the wallet is compromised, create another wallet, write down your mnemonic phrases send your tokens to the new wallet.
