701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [LTC] To all pool operators on: April 09, 2013, 06:48:57 AM
It seems almost all LTC pools are having troubles at the moment.

I would like to know the reason for this.

Is it mainly because of the large number of DDOS attacks?
Or because of the many new users mining Litecoin (and your sites have not been prepared for this unexpected load).
Or because of changes / new features the pool software itself (Stratum, vardiff)?

If it's mainly due to the DDOS attacks, do you have a suspicion who's behind it?

Would it be possible to set the upper difficulty limit for Stratum in the client?

E.g. while mining Litecoins on ltcmine.ru I sometimes get a very high difficulty. The result in cgminer is that I only see something like this:

[2013-04-08 03:08:26] Stratum from pool 0 detected new block
[2013-04-08 03:08:48] Stratum from pool 0 detected new block
[2013-04-08 03:09:04] Stratum from pool 0 detected new block
[2013-04-08 03:09:43] Stratum from pool 0 detected new block

No accepted, no rejected - only new block messages.

LTC: Since a day or two (maybe longer) I have a very high reject rate. About 10%.

I didn't have this problem before. coinotron, did you change something?

I'm working on it.

Out of curiosity: What's the problem?
704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC][Pool][PPS]notroll.in PPS Pool | Port80 Mining | Stratum | US&EU Servers on: April 08, 2013, 06:45:44 PM
notroll.in - pps w/ 5% tax, pps share = 0.00011271139645285000
coinotron - pps w/ 5% tax, pps share = 0.00022557

Find the differences.

The difference is difficulty  Tongue

I thought they are on vardiff now. Why do/would they still use a fixed pps share?

Would it be possible to get a new shipping estimate from an official BFL employee?

I didn't find up to date information on the BFL website.

Asking on the official BFL forums, I only got trolled & ridiculed, no valuable information was given to me.

Two questions:

(1) Is there a way to trigger a manual payout? I only see an automatic payout option.

(2) Is automatic payout working for TRC? I have an amount > payout threshold, and nothing happens.

are shares not being recorded properly on eu?

Same here. Seems there are again problems with the EU servers (shares not counted).

Compared to the other (failed) ASIC vendors, there's only one thing BFL seems to be good at: refunds.

So the only logical choice for all BFL customers would be: Get a refund. At least that's working.

712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can we get some sub forums up in hur? on: April 07, 2013, 11:46:24 AM
Sometimes I want to read about LTC, sometimes TRC, shit even BBQ... Why can't we just have subforums for every crazy ass alt coin so I don't have to search through all the herping and derping about Ripple to find out something about why my TRC wallet is messed up? Thanks.

+1 for subforums
713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC][Pool][PPS]notroll.in PPS Pool | Port80 Mining | Stratum | US&EU Servers on: April 06, 2013, 07:25:41 PM
I was mining on eu.notroll.in again. For about one day everything was perfect again.

But now I'm not getting paid properly for my shares.

Your website shows "Dif 31", but my cgminer says dif=128 -> 1/4

cgminer says I have 1400Kh/s
your website says I have 350kh/s -> that's only 1/4 of what I really have

I am pretty sure your vardiff is buggy (again).

Please stop experimenting around on a live system! You're costing us money.

Coinotron, where do you get your quotes from? E.g. BTC/TRC shows 0.04225 on your website at the moment. BTC-e and Vircurex show it much lower, at 0.0065 - only a 1/10 of what your website shows.

How come?
715  Other / Off-topic / Re: Luke-JR keeps deleting my posts on: April 06, 2013, 03:23:44 PM
For some reason I thought you were religious.
Hey now, I'm no fan of him, but as a devote christian myself, I'm not going to hold it against him. No one is perfect, regardless of religion, but to hold that religion against him is just unfair.

Of course not. Dog donít eat dog.

But doesn't the bible say "don't lie" (aka "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour") ?

But who cares, right? There's so much bullcrap in the bible. Like: "You shall not boil a young goat in its mother's milk." from some other 10 commandments from Exodus 34:10-28.

716  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: serious question on: April 06, 2013, 12:34:16 PM
ok, but now they have video evidence of a working unit

plus they have taken the 30k units off their product list

i suspect a scammer would leave that up to make some big chunks of cash?

I don't think they are scammers in a classical sense. They are just utterly incompetent Cowboys. Utterly incompetent when it comes to project management, ASIC design and PR - but masterful in bending the truth.

Result might be the same in both cases: You loose your money

Vardiff is now active on the eu server. Note that this has not been extensively tested and any feedback is welcome, ...

Works much better than the old vardiff.

Many thanks!
718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [TRC] Terracoin going crazy! on: April 06, 2013, 11:27:10 AM
Difficulty at 103 now! (not 103.000.000, not 103.00, not 1003 - no! 103!).

Back from 50.000.

Those crazy swings must be a design flaw!

EDIT: now down to 28.

EDIT: now down to 5.
719  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL RIP OFF... price up 90%, 50GH/s for 2499$. on: April 06, 2013, 08:42:07 AM
Weird. Back in September, it was ONLY the newbies that was complaining and calling them scammers

Wrong. "Frizz: Date Registered: January 18, 2012".

Thank you very much for donating $1,249 to the Josh-get-rich-quick Fund
