Hi,

I'm very interested in this. But I see you only ship to USA. Is it possible to arrange shipping to Norway?

Ja det ante meg.  Takk for svar. Jeg ble hvertfall litt klokere.
143  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Coine.rs – an open wiki about people and companies behind Bitcoin on: February 03, 2016, 02:10:42 PM
Sounds good.
At the moment I have no spare time, but if I get some in the future I will try to translate to Norwegian.  Smiley
144  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin-Core connections in, advice for n00bs like me :) on: February 03, 2016, 02:04:15 PM
Well I agree with that, but a reduction in nodes could lead to the risk of centralisation. Outbound only nodes can help avoid this.

Pruning could also lead to an increase in nodes accepting inbound connections.

I agree. Hopefully more people will run Bitcoin-QT, resulting in at least more pruned nodes.
145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Europe unfriendlyness is growing on: February 03, 2016, 02:01:30 PM
EU != Europe

I'm just saying. There are countries in Europe that is not a part of EU.
146  Local / Skandinavisk / Omsetning av bitcoin on: February 03, 2016, 01:13:33 PM
Jeg leser her om skatt og mva på bitcoin:
http://www.skatteetaten.no/no/Radgiver/Rettskilder/Uttalelser/Prinsipputtalelser/Bruk-av-bitcoins--skatte--og-avgiftsmessige-konsekvenser/

147  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin-Core connections in, advide for n00bs like me :) on: February 03, 2016, 10:31:24 AM

In a way you are helping. But in another way you are not helping. You are using 8 of all the available node connections, but not providing any more available connections for the network.

Why is that a problem? All nodes have multiple connections, so you are only using one connection on each of those nodes. I believe that you are also verifying transactions, and that is also helpful.

It will be a problem if nobody accept incoming connections. Because in order to get outbound connections you depend on someone accepting incoming connections.
148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you store your bitcoins? on: February 03, 2016, 10:26:20 AM
I store them on a Trezor, and some on a wallet on my phone. And some on LocalBitcoins.
149  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Coine.rs – an open wiki about people and companies behind Bitcoin on: February 02, 2016, 01:45:23 PM
Nice site, and like that it is so easy to contribute.

But could you please explain how "famous" people need to be before you should write about them there. Also, do you require it to be in English. Any plans to support other languages?
150  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin-Core connections in, advide for n00bs like me :) on: February 02, 2016, 01:20:17 PM
Yesterday I realized, that I'm actually not running Bitcoin Core as I thought. I previously thought that I'm helping bitcoin network by validationg blocks etc, but yesterday I realised, that I don't have any connections in. So if i've understood correctly there was no benefit for network at all from my node.

I noticed it from this

https://bitnodes.21.co/

So, please check that you are connected  Grin

If you are not, you have to open port 8333.

If you only have the 8 outbound connections you are helping
. You can however help more if you allow inbound connections. As the message says you have to open the port 8333:

# on the machine running the node
# on the device that connects it to the internet
# if the device does NAT you have to forward the port to the local IP of the machine with the node.

In a way you are helping. But in another way you are not helping. You are using 8 of all the available node connections, but not providing any more available connections for the network.

Really looking forward to this. Had almost forgot about it, I have been waiting so long!
152  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Load balancing over public WiFi on: February 01, 2016, 09:53:12 AM
It depends on many things. Is it the initial sync speed you wish to improve? Remember this also depends on the CPU and memory on your notebook. It might not be the WiFi connection that is the bottleneck. What speed is you internet connection? Is this the bottleneck? Or are you really sure it is the WiFi connection? If the traffic for both wifi adapters is on the same network, are you sure the overall speed will increase?

154  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Can Trezor steal our bitcoins ? on: January 14, 2016, 07:10:14 PM
I was thinking about buying a Trezor, but what's the point when you need to be online and log in into that mytrezor site? what if that site ever goes online? it's pretty dumb to be honest, we wouldn't need any connection to the internet to use it, that doesn't sound very cold storage.

You can use the Trezor with other wallet software: http://doc.satoshilabs.com/trezor-faq/overview.html#which-wallets-are-compatible-with-trezor-hardware
No need to use the mytrezor site.

Are you program developer ? you can't know it's100% trust.
the seed show up on the trezor thats correct but it also synchronized with their site

Not it's not. Do you have any proof of this?

Enighet!

157  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: [ANN] phpMyMiner - Web-based CGMiner monitor and administration interface on: January 06, 2015, 04:22:18 PM
Can you make it self contained without needing to download and install the composer stuff?

Sorta just copy to web server with php installed and away you go?

It is possible. I will fix this for next release.

IMHO biometrics should only replace usernames, but newer passwords. As pointed out earlier your biometrics exists in many places already. And Apples fingerprint reader was hacked shortly after it's release.
Most Bitcoin users today are security enthusiasts and would never wish for something like this.
