I am hoping that Topps makes the cryptocurrency for their refractor cards, I have some of Topps finest refractors from 1993 and they are some of my favorites.
Nice, I have a roger clemens I think from that year! Off-topic though and back on - We should all like create a slack group or something for trading/selling/discussion - this is not the place, & nor is ebay! Better to use Discord instead of Slack.

Good to know. I'll list my black minis this weekend. Regards, Chris I'm curious why would you sell now rather than wait a year? You think the black (or red) minis will not continue to appreciate in value over time (just a passing fad?)

Economy / Collectibles / Re: [NEW] Introducing Metallic Prints; a new affordable option - limited to 10
|

This trend of producing limited editions on metal panels then later reproducing the same art on canvas, poster or metallic prints is disturbing. I don't have a screenshot but I seem to remember when I bought my metal panel "Digital Gold" the copy said only ten would be produced with no disclaimer that the right was reserved to also release the same art on other medium at a later date. This lowers the value to collectors. IMO work with more artists and produce however many copies of each release you need to keep the business running and make your profit but once you release artwork on one medium like the metal panels don't release again on any other medium. You should also thicken the aluminum panels to prevent warping even if the weight is increased to 6 pounds from 4 pounds. My two cents.

Because Damascus steel is beautiful there is an assumption it is very expensive which is not always the case. The Damascus, brass scales and leather sheath for that knife cost about $100. This is not a custom made knife from a famous maker, more of a kit knife with engraved brass scales that originally sold for about $200 here on the forum. There are not that many bladesmiths in the world who can command prices higher than $5000 for a full custom fixed blade hunter. Regardless good luck with the sale! Damascus hunting knives are popular for comparables take a look at Arizona Custom Knives. You might consider an auction here. I have been collecting and trading knives for many years and would value it at about $500 max. It is a nice conversation piece but no way is it worth two bitcoin sorry about that. You are talking it down because you don't own one and never will. You ignore the fact that this batch was the worlds first bitcoin knives. Custom made in a limited edition so yeah it is famous and the maker will always be known. You act like they are some cheap pressed knock off What makes it even more so special is this is the last unopened blade in the world. Famous Katanas will sell for well over $300k and many knives with history will match this. This one is in that category and thats why it commands a premium. Your $500 valuation is dream. If you really trade knives like you claim you do you would have never said $500. If you want to get a cheap knife I suggest Aliexpress. Dude you are obviously not a knife collector and know nothing about how collectible knives are valued. Just because something is scarce does not mean it is worth a fortune. This is a kit knife made by someone with adequate skills not a custom knife made by a famous maker. The unknown maker used brass scales because they were easy to engrave but did not even take the time to fit them properly to the tang. I stand by my valuation of $500. If I wanted one I would have bought one when they were first offered for sale but passed because I was not that impressed by the quality and the handle looked uncomfortable. Someone with $6000 to spend on a custom knife would buy something like this one off custom from Walter Brend which will appreciate over time.

If you follow the collectibles market here some collectors are starting to sell off expensive collections of Casascius, Kialaras, etc. I consider this bullish because they are indicating they would rather hold bitcoin at this time than the collectible coins, and expect bitcoin to appreciate more than their collection over the next year or so. Call it a possible leading indicator.

@OgNasty glad you are getting some use from your knife. I did not buy one when they were sold because I don't like metal scales and the handle design looked uncomfortable to hold. If I made the knife I would use hardwood for the handle and properly contour the scales flush to the tang so the knife feels good in the hand. Probably just inlay a copper Bitcoin Penny into both sides of the wood handle to make it bitcoin themed.

There is nothing wrong with keeping the amount of bitcoin you are willing to lose in a hot wallet on a smartphone. Nowadays Trezor or Nano S hardware wallets are cheap and can be used with Mycelium on Android with an OTG cable keeping your private keys completely off the phone. That's the safe smart way to use bitcoin with a phone anything else is a distant second best.
