121  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB Bitcoin - MP $140 per on: September 27, 2013, 12:56:22 AM
I believe this transaction is now complete.

farlack has received 2.8926 BTC with 4 confirmations on all transactions at this time.

FullLife has received $410

farlack agreed to voluntarily pay an extra $5 due to a misunderstanding about the value of the MP he was holding.

farlack I'm assuming you received the coins from Danny?

Sorry, I did, thank you + trust!

Are you looking to buy more through Danny escrow?

Please take a picture of yourself while holding a paper with "bitcointalk" and today's date written on it, just to verify it's really you Kim. If you are able to put a shoe on your head when taking the photo you can leave the piece of paper out.

Yes, shoe on head please.

I like money too, but what you have to ask is what is money? It is a representation of your efforts that other people value. So what can you do that other people value that you value too?

If you where passionate about hanging out at the beach then you could become the most knowledgeable at spending time at the beach. The people I know that do that for are living a surfers, life guards, marine biologist, commercial fisherman, and coast guard and many others but that is off the top of my head.

I think what you really mean is that you love bumming around that is fine but i like going out to a nice diner more than bumming. So there are trade offs

Can you come up with something that you love enough to live for?

126  Other / Off-topic / Re: Untitled life on: September 22, 2013, 07:25:30 PM
The majority of responses involve money. Does that make you happy? Is it the statues you feel you have when you have a pocket full of hundreds? Is it the fact knowing you can go out and purchase something? I don't see what makes people happy.

Another thing I hear is "find something you love". Well what do you love? Do you love going to the beach and watching the ocean? Is that what you live your life for?

That's probably the root of my problem. I don't feel passionate about anything to enjoy living.

Study economic history like I did, then you'll have an understanding of how the world really works Wink still probably going to be unemployed though lol Tongue but seriously Bitcoin is an emerging market you should get a skillset for, as long as you get a skillset people will pay for you'll do fine.

It's not the money. I have my bills paid, not a huge mansion but I live comfortable. What will making money from bitcoin bring me? More money? What does that matter?

See what I'm saying? I know I can't explain myself well so bare with me.

Hell, just sounds like you're bored of life, time to go and learn something new Tongue

That's what I've been thinking. I feel this world doesn't offer what I desire or feel I need. It is selfish but am I suppose to live for someone else?

I just don't see what the future could bring that would make me truly happy.

Do you have a gf?

That's the whole thing right there. I've been with here for 5 years and she wants to start a family. I look at all the families around me and don't see the point really.

None of there lives are the brady bunch. Half the kids hate their parents anyway.

I wish I could explain how I feel about it better online. It's like I'm fine with how they live and if it works for them great. It just doesn't seem like life. You go to a 9-5 come home and rest, every once in awhile you travel and take a vacation. Is that life? I feel like there should be more I guess.

How did you figure out what you were going to do with your life?

I need help!

I'm 26 and haven't figured out anything. When I was 12 I thought I knew it all, when I was 16 I knew I knew it all. Now ten years later all I know is I know nothing.

I somewhere down the road lost vision of what I wanted to do with my life. Now I sit here and feel completely lost without a clue on what to do. I sit here and think if I had a million dollars what would I do with it? I can't come up with a thing besides using it to earn more money. Is money the only thing to live for? Is that everyone's dream? I feel like I need more.

I look at the life's around me and don't envy any of them. I must not of been exposed to my dream because it seems like this world has nothing offer. The best word I can describe myself is lost. First off I would never kill myself, but is it strange that I wouldn't mind dying?

I guess I'm looking for guidance from someone that has felt this way before.
131  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should weed be legalized? POLL on: September 22, 2013, 01:48:58 PM
Coke and heroin should be legal, too, IMO.

No reason we can poison ourselves with some substances but not others.  As long as I am only shooting up in my veins, then what makes it an issue with the federal government?

You won't live as long resulting in them getting less money from you.
132  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling Bitcoins - PayPal Accepted - Please Read on: September 22, 2013, 10:10:46 AM

Well if you are willing to take the risk , you can find my bitcoin address on my signature,  send 10 bitcoins there , I will pay you someday Cheesy , just take that risk won't ya Cheesy

Pretty much like this anymore now, but paypal isn't the problem. It's the people you choose to deal with.

OP can only make sure he accepts from a verified account and he should be ok until the inevitable comes and he experiences a charge back.

Canadian Mint ready to test its own digital money project

http://business.financialpost.com/2013/09/19/canadian-mint-pushes-ahead-in-murky-world-of-crypto-currency-with-mintchip-project/

MintChip is dead.... Long live MintChip!

Edit: Be sure to watch the news clip at the bottom of the article, an attempt to explain bitcoin to two news anchors. Destined to become a classic.

That video is EPIC.

I love that tec guys enthusiasm but he did a terrible job of trying to explain what it is.  No fault of his own.  It is just difficult to grasp the complex and revolutionary idea of a decentralized currency.

1. You can mine bitcoin
2. You can earn bitcoin
3 You can buy bitcoin

You can use bitcoin to purchase or exchange value with anyone who wants it and who has something you want.

Bottom Line.   If two people agree on the value of a transaction then it is no different then any other transfer of value.

Hah, yeah, he tried, but not very well prepared or presented at all... I think I'm more confused after listening to him... Need to erase this convo from my head...

Your location?

Ps: you can also buy from localbitcoins.com with escrow protection.

Have gone this route before and haven't found a local seller.

Moral Systems Theory and Neoinstitutionalism sounds pretty good!

Sounds about right!

This guy says he is willing to escrow somebody who buys with western union put him to the test.

I was communicating some with OP the other day and when talk of escrow came I never received a response. If he is willing to escrow I will buy 3BTC. Escrow must be an established member, preferably someone who has held funds before.
