Hello miners!
Just wanted to let you know, that with current minimal earnings from mining you may try to decrease your powertune in order to get better MHs per watt ratio.
For example, I decreased my powertune from "-8" to "-30". That lowered my hashrate by about 10%, but the power usage of GPUs decreased by about 25%.
PS: The "API functionality" in mkxminer is almost finished. I think I'll release a new version tomorrow or next week.
Thanks

Hi good miner but after a few hrs of mining my vega64 becomes dead ive tried lowering the intensity to 17 still becomes dead any ideas on a config? Thanks Hi! Try different drivers. Or decrease powertune. This mining algorithm is heavy on GPU, so make sure the card is not overheating. Changing config files for mkxminer will not help. Thanks

Hey, great little miner! Any chance it could be made to work with 7950's, 7970's and 280x? Some of my aging farm it runs, but will not find a share. Whats weird is: On a couple of old 7790's the miner works fine and receives share rewards lol Ok, anything to help would be great! mining Lyra2z of course THX! Hi! Yes, it is possible to make it work on older cards. But the speed is much slower, so not sure if it is even worth it. For example, compare speed of R9 390 and RX 480. 390 is almost two times slower. While on other algorithms, for example on Lyra2rev2, it is only about 10% - 20% slower. Older generations, like Tahiti (7950, R9 280X) would have similar performance to R9 390 (prorated to the number of cores), so I expect R9 280X to be around 1.2MHs now. I believe you can find a more profitable algo to mine on these old cards. Thanks

i'm getting a an error Device not supported: "gfx900", only AMD GCN cards are supported. it's a Radeon Vega56 Hi! Is it on Windows or on Linux? Thanks additional details... gfx900 is when HBCC is turned off does not work when HBCC turned off gfx901 is when HBCC is turned on. it works with HBCC turned on running 18.10.2 drivers now. have you tried developing without the blockchain drivers? the blockchain drivers are supported in the latest released drivers and they're more stable. and have you tried developing with HBCC off. HBCC are for the vega cards. the 500 and 400 series card have a compute/graphic switch in AMD settings window. Sorry, this is new for me. Will have to read about HBCC, etc. I have Windows 10 x64 and Vega64. I believe this is the best setup. As for drivers, I'm using blockchain drivers, because they are stable. I tried with different other drivers as well, but had some issues with 4+ GPUs in one rig. I can test on latest drivers, probably next week.

Linux AMD driver 18.10 cannot work. Thanks for testing. What's the exact error and what videocard? stuck at last lines. I use Fiji. 7efc9a069000-7efc9a071000 rw-s 1023e2000 00:06 22983 /dev/dr i/renderD134 7efc9a071000-7efc9a073000 rw-s 1023e0000 00:06 22983 /dev/dr i/renderD134 7efc9a073000-7efc9a075000 rw-s 1023de000 00:06 22983 /dev/dr i/renderD134 7efc9a075000-7efc9a175000 rw-s 1022de000 00:06 22983 /dev/dr i/renderD134 7efc9a175000-7efc9a275000 rw-s 1021de000 00:06 22983 /dev/dr i/renderD134 7efc9a275000-7efc9a27b000 rw-s 1021d8000 00:06 22983 /dev/dr i/renderD134 7efc9a27b000-7efc9a281000 rw-s 1021d2000 00:06 22983 /dev/dr i/renderD134 7efc9a281000-7efc9a289000 rw-s 1021ca000 00:06 22983 /dev/dr i/renderD134 7efc9a289000-7efc9a291000 rw-s 1021c2000 00:06 22983 /dev/dr i/renderD134 7efc9a291000-7efc9a311000 rw-s 102142000 00:06 Hi! Sorry, I'm not quite sure what your quoted text is. Definitely not output from mkxminer or error message. Please provide more info and I'll try to investigate. "18.10" is "Ubuntu 18.10", I guess. Server or Desktop? Which AMD driver? Thanks

Dear miners! I am locking this thread. Please use the new thread for Lyra2Z miner related questions: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5058058If you are here because of Lyra2rev2 miner, then please think again: Lyra2rev2 ASICs now exist and it is very unprofitable to mine this algorithm with a GPU. If you just need MONA/VTC/etc coins, then it makes more sense to mine other algorithm (say Lyra2Z, see link above) on a multipool with BTC payouts and then use BTC to buy MONA/VTC. Thank you WinMKX

mkxminer versions 1.0 - 3.1 were supporting only lyra2rev2 algorithm. But it is now dead for GPU miners, because ASICs completely destroyed lyra2rev2 profitability. mkxminer version 4.0+ do not support lyra2rev2 anymore. Here is the old lyra2rev2 related thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2360168

Hello!
I just released a new version of mkxminer. Sorry, it took a little longer than I thought:
v4.1: 27 October 2018 - Linux build + Windows build - About 5% speed increase
* Coming soon * - API support
Links in OP
Thanks
PS: I'm planning to create a separate thread for Lyra2z mkxminer, because the discussion above is mostly for Lyra2rev2 algo. But lyra2rev2 is now dead for GPUs (because of ASICs).

Note regarding mkxminer:- Please use beta blockchain driver. Link: https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-Beta-for-Blockchain-Compute-Release-Notes.aspxI use it myself on RX580 and Vega. Running absolutely rock solid. There are reports, that latest 18.x drivers don't work properly. - Do not use lyra2rev2 anymore, it is not profitable. Lyra2Z is much better. - New version will have higher mining speed and Linux support. ETA: This month (October). - There will be no more Lyra2rev2 support (does not make any sense, because of ASICs). PS: If you need any comments from me, please send PM. Unfortunately, I don't have time to constantly monitor this forum.

Please compare mining speed of this miner with mkxminer v4 and reply. My test on MSI RX580: 3.45Mhs on mkxminer 4.0b 3.37Mhs on teamred miner 0.3.2 (minus 3% their devfee) => effective 3.27Mhs So my miner is 5% faster. My test on FuryX: 3.61Mhs on mkxminer 4.0b 3.26Mhs on teamred miner 0.3.2 (minus 3% their devfee) => effective 3.16Mhs So my miner is 14% faster. Could not test on Vega, because redteam miner could not recognize my Vega64, so cannot publish my results unfortunately.

Very, very unstable with vegas
Best driver is a beta blockchain driver. Have 7 x VEGA 64 myself, running rock solid.
