1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In the next decade, BTC and digital currencies will “fully” replace fiat? on: February 03, 2020, 10:13:17 PM
As much as I want this to happen, its not that easy, there is a lot of hate and detest for bitcoin especially from the governments, because of its decentralized nature,so its gonna be hard to have it fully replace fiat
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin stats to kickoff 2020 on: February 03, 2020, 10:07:38 PM
Its gonna be a great year for bitcoin,of course it has been very consistent at the top since the past years, but this time,I'm sure it's gonna reach an all time high again
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is never going to be extinct on: November 09, 2019, 10:19:53 PM
I thinks so too.
It will always be relevant, thanks to its scalable blockchain which gives room for improvement
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What have you done to promote the Blockchain technology & cryptocurrencies? on: October 26, 2019, 10:30:13 PM
As for me,  I try telling few of my friends about the blockchain technology and crypto-currency, and they always seem very interested in it.
So I do my best to educate them and also refer them to sites that can help them too

Can I mine with this card? I don't think it's got OpenCL Support.

Its on the mining hardware comparison list though, as 9800GT and 9800GTX?

Does this mean I can mine with this card?

14  Bitcoin / Project Development / Free Bitcoins for playing Games on: February 09, 2012, 04:05:42 PM
Hi,

I've been working on a project that lets everybody generate free bitcoins just for playing games. It's similar to the "http://dailybitcoins.org/" method of making bitcoins!
still got a few bugs and tweaks here and there. I'm asking the BTC Forum community, can you help me work these bugs and problems out?

15  Bitcoin / Hardware / FPGA Miners? on: February 05, 2012, 01:51:36 PM
Hi Bitcoin Folks!

I've got a few questions about FPGA Mining

What exactly is an FPGA Miner? I've seen links to buy FPGA Board/Cards, but how do they work?
Are they PCI type cards for a PC? If not, how do you configure one to Mine / Pool Mine? (Can they pool mine at all?)

What's the profitability of one too? I'm guessing one running at about 250MH will use the same power as something like a Sky box, which is normally switched on in a house 24/7 so electricity usage wouldnt change much!
How many BTC/Month would this bring @ 250MH?

I'm thinking of buying one. But I want to know everything about how they work first.

I've seen them with ports such as audio and usb etc, but just how would I configure and use it if I Bought one??
I want to buy one, but only after knowing all the ins and outs of it. Electricity costs, cooling, how to configure. Etc

Can anyone shed some light on them?

17  Economy / Gambling / Re: Newbie Lottery - 0.005BTC / Ticket on: February 03, 2012, 10:17:56 PM
Okay thanks. I had a look and figured it out after Smiley
Who's entered my lottery anyway? Theres one person, and in 13 hours they'll win. Put 0.005 BTC in and get more than double back!
18  Economy / Gambling / Re: Newbie Lottery - 0.005BTC / Ticket on: February 03, 2012, 12:44:46 PM
Bump!
SOLD one ticket yesterday! I'm a bit confused about the block chain thingy!
The recieve address is: http://blockexplorer.com/address/18FcBMdbaWoPbiKSYtYNJPqGymfL2uzorK

On that page, It says Recieved 0.01 From/To 2x my address
Then recieved again 0.005 to make the balance in the lottery at 0.015
But the second transaction has 2 DIFFERENT addresses in From/To
Which one do I send the winnings to if the lottery is won??

Wow. These drawing techniques are confusing!
I think i've just got a good technique though!

using website: http://statistics.berkeley.edu/~stark/Java/Html/sha256Rand.htm
I paste a hash into it:
E.G The latest block: Block #164966 hash = 0000000000000207ab590f7afda4dd6a7faf736b3b625ee81a165018a42c2c63

Every time I "draw sample I get 42 as the start number (based on 50 participants)

I think i'll use this method then! I'll writeup the technique on my website later today Wink

So basically. I pick the next block after draw time, get the hash, enter it to the website, enter the participants, then this picks my winner by ticket ID!

on the "Transactions Into Lottery" I'll list Ticket ID (numbers 1 through to how ever many sold). If someone buys 3 tickets, their ticket ID will be 1-3 or 6-9 for example
Ticket ID is a first come first serve basis. If you want ticket 1, you have to buy ticket 1 first!
20  Economy / Gambling / Re: Newbie Lottery - 0.005BTC / Ticket on: February 01, 2012, 03:54:02 PM
You should state your drawing method. I'd suggest you take a look around at other lotteries offered here to see how they do it.

Just going to list tickets in excel and use this (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/214090) example to sort the tickets randomly
The top ticket wins
