I get it where you're coming from mate, but I dont think just because something is uncertain means it is related to gambling...having that kind of logic will sound like you're saying that stock trading would also be considered as gambling since no one knows the outcome. To me, predicting a market depends more on research and understanding different informations ... Some people may treat them like a gambling, but that doesn't mean its true. I really think that It depends on how someone uses it. If they're just placing their money around and hoping to get win and being lucky, then yeah, it's basically gambling. But if they're taking time to understand the situation before making a prediction and good judgement, then I wouldn't put it in the same category.
You can call prediction market whatever, you want but to me it's gambling because money is at stake and it's either you lose your money or make profit and that's what gambling is all about. It doesn't matter the event that is used for staking to make it possible. Will you say that betting on matches isn't gambling then why do will have it also in prediction market if it's not similar to gambling. Any type of betting where money is involved is actually a part of gambling. And in this case, the prediction market that we are currently seeing a height is also actually a part of gambling. However, I actually could not trust these prediction markets or derivative trading platforms from the beginning and I still can't. Even when people call it trading, it still seems odd to me. You can do your research and analyze the market before entering a trade. But if you are spending 12h a day staring at the screen, waking up at 3am to check your trades, or even worse, trying to win back your losses after every losing trade, those are already sign of trading addiction.
I agree with your sentence that if one goes into trading without any analysis knowledge then it would be better to call it gambling instead of trading. However, I disagree with your sentence where you directly said that there is no difference between trading addiction and gambling even for those who know trading analysis. Because for those who know trading analysis properly and have taken trading as their career, the more time they spend on analysis and trading, the more effort they put into their work. I would say that what you said actually applies to those who basically don't know about trading analysis but still go into trading, and do all sorts of illogical, fabricated analysis of their own. |

You have pointed out a important things here. Because if we do trading without the proper knowledge like without having the technical analysis skill and the fundamental analysis skill then I think that will be gambling instead of trading. And on that case there will be a greed in our mind and that is for making use money from small fund in a few days. And that later becomes highly addictive. Even in cases where the trader does not upgrade his analysis skills, he becomes addicted to gambling and loses money.
