Response from dev team: "Well first it was not 1 million :smiley: it was 900,000 unsold coins form the crowdsale. We said the conclusion of the sale was completely horrendous, the mastercoin network was out of consensus. So the stop token was late and meant the extra Maid were already created. The sale also stopped short before the coins were all sold. It was 900,000 short. So these were simply the undersell amount, not any created in error. These should have been sold and will be."
So basically, there is a 900k coin dump imminent....
Thanks for the heads up. I couldn't understand why maid was crashing and I was considering catching the falling knife. I recently transferred gems from polo to gemsapp a couple times in the last two days without problems.
Pay key is such a joke, it's a Frickin keyboard and a lame one at that. But that's what they are dead set on selling to the world. Just when I thought I've seen it all. This is not looking good, I've used to hold some Gemz like an year ago and sold for a little profit. Then I wanted to invest again some months ago...glad I didn't and choose ethereum (not sure how that will turn out either but I already made ROI and then some).
What happened along the way, there are some serious scam accusations...so sad to see this one "wonderful" concept and idea going down in flames.

I see no downside. If Paykey suceeds, it will throw off money to support GetGems development. If it fails, Daniel will have more time to devote to GetGems. Either way, we win!!!
In 1 year not a single statement about sharing the profit from paykey into gems. So nop this is a bullshit call until it is officially announced Does anyone think bitcoin still has a future? |

Here's a fun read from the past: How the funds raised will be used:
- The Gems network and its costs will be significant over time.
- Expenses incurred prior to and related to Genesis Sale.
- Salaries for full time contributors and payments to freelancers.
- Further development of the IOS and Android Gems apps (extra features will be voted by the community).
- Marketing, advertising, media and articles - moving from 1K to 1M users.
- Community Funding.
- Legal counsel.
Considering that the switch to Telegram would have significantly cut costs from this original budget. Where did all the money go? It's almost as if something is missing from the list... Will Daniel Peled please stand up? |

He announced his possession of the funds, 39 days after the fact, under direct questioning in chat, 2 AM (his time). Yes, I remember when that happened. I believe the milestone had been reached many months earlier and they finally got around to collecting the money. There was no intent to deceive anyone. Looking back, I believe it was a mistake and I don't think it will happen again. Also, Daniel has never promised to develop the AE as described in his ICO pitch.
The final milestone is titled "advertising platform", and he is well on his way to completing it. You have no clue if this is true, pure speculation with a bit of FUD. Let's wait and see what they deliver with the Attention Economy. He has no clue on what exactly? The final milestone is not about the ae its about setting up an advertising platform. Basically a website that sells advertising spots would do it. So basically not only he went and used an open source app but he also replaced the ae described in his whitepaper by a fuckin telegram channel. 1 year later and all we get here is a telegram channel, thats all there is right now. nothing else is in the work for many more months since this guy is working his ass off on paykey and couldnt careless about the future of getgems. So what will they do? throw a couple more bones here and there pretending for a whole year to be fixing bugs on this already built application. In the next update there will be a couple useless stuff done, new color of the ui but not a single thing related to the ae. Its been a whole year all we got is " bug fixing" and a bs telegram channel Now explain me how did getgems become the secondary project here? On the most recent videos we see daniel stating marketing is on the way and official paykey launch is coming in the following months. 100% agree with this. I sold my gemz at a loss, gave this project benefit of doubts but too many red flags, first i thought if the app hits 100k users we would see some support but now i think even if it hits a million users things wont change much. The market has decided that gemz isnt an interesting trading asset anymore after they switched to paykey since 43 north. Still i hope investors get a decent return eventually. So, let me "dream" a little bit and write it down.
Did you watch the 43North video? Did you go to the PayKey website? Can you imagine the effect of PayKey and Getgems together?
I would assume Daniel is "holding the cards close to his chest". They did the same thing before they announced PayKey due to patent issues in the UK.
I don't know what's in store for the future of Getgems and PayKey....but the potential is incredible. So incredible I'm comfortable accumulating GEMZ here and waiting patiently.

Daniel clearly states the estimated $20 million in revenues from PayKey by 2018. Do me a favor and watch it please. Gemz is the token for Getgems, not PayKey. So why aren't you championing GG? Because, like the rest of us, you've given up on it. Instead, you're proposing a very large hypothetical: That PK will be successful, and through means of charity, it will fund GG. And through GG's success, the value of Gemz will rise. Buy and hold GEMS. There's a good chance it will turn out to be your best investment ever!
Before giving investment advice, for context, how about letting us know how well your investment is doing? Do you know what an "investment" is? An investment is an asset or item that is purchased with the hope that it will generate income or appreciate in the future. Ask me in 2018. I am not too concerned with the price today.
