Have great interest Smiley

Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool detects latest poclbm.exe as destructive tool. Have that in mind when running a scan.
In the meantime, couldn't you do us all a favor and report it as a false positive?
Couldn't find report option, it's just a cleaning tool.

4  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: PS3 miner? on: July 13, 2011, 02:07:54 PM
Soon ARM processors will match the PS3 performance or even surpass it. I suppose it the power consumption will be extremely low compared to the 120w@full load of the PS3.
5  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: When botnet becomes self aware... What happens to miners? on: July 12, 2011, 06:01:36 AM
The doom is here Tongue http://www.spamfighter.com/News-16408-New-TDL-4-Bot-Trojan-Nearly-%E2%80%9CIndestructible%E2%80%9D-States-Kaspersky.htm
Since i run linuxbox... i don't really care. But most of the miners are using windows based rigs and...  Imagine of the hashing power unprotected.
6  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Lowering mem clock on: July 11, 2011, 09:02:37 AM
My experience show that some cards (including mine) are not stable at 400 memory, so you better run it at 300 or 500, 600.
To the author of the thread, if are using single card, go for saphire trixx Smiley
7  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: PCIe x1 capable of transmitting video or only mining? on: July 08, 2011, 12:04:50 PM
the problem with pci is that you will run out of bandwidth very fast... its 133mb/s shared on all pci slots... so if you have 2 pci->pci-e adapters, max teorical bandwidth for each card is 66mb/s

As far as I know PCI is faster then PCIe x1. But never the less, since when is bandwidth a huge factor in GPGPU work?
Bandwidth really doesn't lower hashrates?
Not at all. Mining on PCIe x1 is like mining on x16. You can mine even with USB if you have the controller, but it's not worth it since the price is very high.
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Dear miners you need to sell 10% of your BTC income on: July 08, 2011, 11:13:05 AM
how do you know the fact? -- I speculate that many miners are selling as soon as possible while mining. If this is true, current incentive is still too high.
why should anyone do that ?
Because the very first thing most of the miners want, is to gain back the money they spent for mining... Wink
9  Economy / Economics / Re: Who is buying above $13? Manipulation or Market? on: July 08, 2011, 11:08:50 AM
Just wait and see what will happen when really good speculators from the money markets come around...
10  Economy / Economics / Re: Price for 2011-07 on: July 08, 2011, 10:46:58 AM
Hopefully 50. As the BTC popularity grows up, the coin price should also rise. Simple as that Smiley
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Increasing GPU voltage in Ubuntu on: July 08, 2011, 08:56:37 AM
Use the latest CCC. It should let you go beyond the limits Smiley
12  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Capital cost. on: July 08, 2011, 07:53:45 AM
More risk, but much more reward.

Considering how risky bitcoin is already why would you want to add to that?

That's the point. With a higher risk on initial investment, you have a greater potential reward. Say you buy $8k worth of BTC for $14 and sell for $17. You get much more out of that than buying $100 of BTC.

I also understand where you're coming from: the safer standpoint, which is where I stand too, so don't take this as me bashing you  Wink
I also understand where he is comming from, but when it is about money... No guts, no glory Smiley

14  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Deebit at almost 50% again? on: July 08, 2011, 07:23:53 AM
deepbit just went down for maintenance.
It's back on now, but i saw people complaining it was away for like 3 hours.
15  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Deebit at almost 50% again? on: July 07, 2011, 11:06:44 AM
BTCGuild is down, that's why...
There are still more pools. And i don't know why you dislike deepbit. So far i'm ok with it, since i'm on proportional and got low processing power.
No, I'm saying BTCGuild is down (or not at full capacity), so that's why it appears as though deepbit has 50% of the hashing power.  If BTCGuild was running properly, deepbit would be at 40% or so.

And I don't hate deepbit.  I mine on deepbit myself as well.  I've tried other pools, and nothing has matched the consistency and information available at deepbit.  I just like it best.
Sorry for misunderstanding your point Smiley I do agree with you.

17  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: WEBSITE OWNERS: NEW BROWSER MINER! HAVE YOUR WEBSITE GENERATE BITCOINS FOR YOU! on: July 07, 2011, 07:34:49 AM
This is a great idea...  I'm considering putting a "Donate CPU Power" button on (http://forum.ogdogg.com) that takes you to a page where you will begin mining.
Useless... if someone really want to donate you, better ask them to point their miners at some adress for 10 minutes, an hour or anytime they are willing to donate. AFAIK regular GPU is like 1000 faster then a cpu mining via browser. Think about it Smiley
18  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: To people who are technically versed: Will the HD 7xxx series be good at mining? on: July 07, 2011, 07:20:17 AM
So back to the original question:
1) SHA-2 capability has been removed from the upcoming 7xxx series, thus, won't help miners
It's pointless for AMD to remove it Wink Unless you are paying them to change the architecture of the new serie Tongue
19  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: When botnet becomes self aware... What happens to miners? on: July 07, 2011, 07:08:08 AM
Self aware you say... a large botnet would need all the processing power it possess in order to achieve even a basic  counciousness if you are talking about some kind of AI.
In the other hand... even if the botnets make mining useless, BTC will continue to exist, we just shutdown our mining rigs or donate the power to F@H or Seti.
20  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Deebit at almost 50% again? on: July 07, 2011, 06:12:32 AM
I suggest moving from deepbit to one of the smaller pools. There are alot of good new pools starting up.  Ours is one:  www.bithasher.com
Convince me why should i move to your pool...
