21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin season question on: March 08, 2020, 01:29:16 PM
After reading few posts on this forum today I became confused because and I decide to let it out to get answers in return, is it possible for altcoins to grow (altcoin season) without Bitcoin? I'm not talking about pumps like if a coin get burned off it's max supply or if listed on binance and other top exchanges, I'm talking about every altcoins surging on their own without Bitcoin taking the first step...
Share your thoughts, I would love to hear you out
It's possible. If a coin lists on Binance or top exchanges, surely its price will increase most of the time without the pump of Bitcoin. If a coin get burned its % of supply, it will impact positively on price. So this issues impact on price of a altcoin.
Yeah that's right. However there is no alt at this point who could "resist" btc's influence. So even if the alt has its own movement on chart it doesn't mean it will not follow the bitcoin, so yeah stay aware of that.
22  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cryptotalk Future on: March 01, 2020, 02:15:34 PM
Think of those who still earn faucets which pay 20 - 30 satoshi. All those people can write a single worthless sentence and get 1000 Sat.
That's back in the day where btc was still cheap, at the status now, I don't know if there are still people who will waste their time in faucet to earn satoshis.
Well, as for cryptotalk status on pay per post, that was really cheap compared to campaign here, and maybe they really need that as they want to make their forum gain a lot of traffic, but in overtime, I am not sure if they'll get their expectation.
We can't estimate the effectiveness of prepaid posts on forum, because we don't know what percentage of people are still at this forum even if they're not paid for it.
If 100% of people were paid for posting than quit when feel it not worth satoshis than strategy doesn't work at all.
But it feels for me that strategy was working much better actually
23  Economy / Economics / Re: Goverments creating digital currencies - Threat or Opportunity? on: February 25, 2020, 02:31:15 PM
In my opinion the government makes their own cryptocurrency is a positive thing for the mass adoption of cryptocurrency.
Because ultimately the government understands that cryptocurrency is very good to use and can make the future brighter.
And finally more people will get to know about cryptocurrency, and start comparing centrilized cryptocurrency made by the
government and decentralized cryptocurrency on the market today.

Centralized govs backed stablecoins could be really usable in future, however I don't see them as main currency to hold your funds into.
By that I mean ideally it should be possible to easily send btc (for instance) to my digital usd wallet in order to pay in walmart.
24  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bit[Suspicious link removed]d for the economy? on: February 18, 2020, 01:22:04 PM
Bitcoins have three useful qualities in a currency, according to The Economist in January 2015: they are "hard to earn, limited in supply and easy to verify". Economists define money as a store of value, a medium of exchange and a unit of account, and agree that bitcoin has some way to go to meet all these criteria.
Yes bitcoin has a long way run in order to meet those criteria which is those three, but the fact that bitcoin has the criteria of hard to earn in which it is very hard to earn 1 bitcoin because the value of it is kind of high and we also know that bitcoin is only have a limited supply meaning there is only a few of bitcoin that is revolving all over the world the thing is, bitcoin and other cryptocurrency are almost there we just need to wait in order to see what it can do to the economy of a country. And because of that we can say that bitcoin is really good for the economic growth of a said country.
Imo bitcoin lacks of 1 highly needed quality of currency is usability. At this point bitcoin is volatile and so is a thing to gamble around, so its not a good investment either
25  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we heading towards Recession? on: February 05, 2020, 02:46:43 AM
Bitcoin price mobility is exhausting me. A slightly stable market would be good. I think it's an opportunity for solid projects to get through the bitcoin. Bitcoin dominance needs to drop a bit. We should use all dollars to buy bitcoins.
Your statements have almost nothing to do with US's recession really, because Bitcoin is not having that much of impact on economy yet.
Anyway, stable market is a matter of time, not effort of bitcoin users.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gold backed Tether coming. on: January 31, 2020, 04:43:38 PM
The new coin from Tether will indeed be backed up with gold from a vault in Switzerland and will have the ticker XAUT. Holders of this asset will actually be able to exchange it for real gold, but only after passing verification. There will also be a minimum amount that can be exchanged for gold.
Even if it is from the same team who claimed that they have all the dollars backed for USDT and then we came to know that they never backed everything with dollar and they have a shady past and hence i will not believe what they are claiming and for that whether they will be procuring gold now when the price is high and from where they will be procuring, i bet nothing will be transparent looking at their past.
Agreed, if they wanted to make it look like something new - they should've start this xaut from other subsidiary company or something like this.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it still possible to invent certain Altcoin that can be better than Bitcoin? on: January 23, 2020, 05:31:25 PM
It should be specific in answering this question. In what terms that alt should be better than bitcoin? Is it on its transaction speed? If it is, then we already have alts for that. XRP, for a minute you can already receive it from one wallet to another. Or is it in terms of lowering the transaction fee? We also have that now. But for the price, it's very uneasy for a new altcoin to rise for it to take over bitcoin in terms of price. Even eth standing for how many years, still not enough to take over the king.

The problem is - every new currency have to wait several years before it makes visible progress.
But all that time in "queue" technologies of each currency gets older.
And so by the time when currency is somewhere near top it is already loses to fresh ones, but still can't compete with the king
28  Economy / Economics / Re: is it possible that the bitcoin was created by governments? on: January 13, 2020, 05:55:40 PM
without BTC and decentralize currencies, the government will just be doing fine and will enjoy the control to its people. there is no need for them to create troubles to themselves by having currencies they have no control over it. it would only make them look stupid if they are the ones who released blockchain as opensource while they now struggle to beat the cryptocurrencies because it created a new market.

Well your logic is totally right from our point of view.
But Imagine if govs actually made Btc and faking decentralization and controlling cryptocurrencies somehow even now.
I highly doubt it, but it can be true though.
29  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitfinex blocks withdraws on: January 05, 2020, 12:11:54 PM
The fact is, there were no victims in this case. No one lost any value. Withdrawals are operational at Bitfinex and Tether and the USDT dollar peg is holding perfectly fine.
They did, though. Many people are still holding, trading, and using USDT under the mistaken assumption that it is backed up 1-to-1 with USD. We know that isn't the case, and that only some of it is backed up with a variety of unspecified "assets". If many people tried to convert their USDT back to USD, there would essentially be a bank run and many people would end up losing value.

Instead of openly haircutting Bitfinex users and issuing debt tokens, they have instead secretly haircutted Tether holders.

Didn't the $1 Billion raised in their private token sale cover the insolvency?
The self-loan from freshly printed Tether came first. My understanding was that the $1 billion raised in useless token sales was to pay back the loan they made to themselves.

Anyway, the market -- and their customers -- don't seem to care. That's really what matters. Tether was proven to be insolvent and the market simply didn't care. In fact, the market injected another $1.3 billion into Tether over the next several months.
I agree with you here, but I think that's a massive problem. Tether can't continue being printed out of thin air with no backup indefinitely. At some point, the whole system will come crashing down, and people holding USDT will suffer massively. With the creation and rise of several other stablecoins, there isn't really a good reason to continue using Tether.

I think something like printing more Tether should not be allowed anyway.
It is pure shilling in huge amounts.
Gov's regulations should come in short and prevent everything like this to happen
30  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cheapest Bitcoin VPS hosting list on: December 26, 2019, 06:36:42 PM
The best and most reliable VPS provider who is active since 2008 https://www.routerhosting.com/bitcoin-vps/

I'm using for years without any hassle. If you look for a VPS which you want to ensure it will be there on the next years, that is what you need.

That is exactly true!

All you guys seem extremely shill'y, but I'll try to use it anyway.
If it is a scam or a bad service - be sure I will write it here in the same thread
31  Economy / Economics / Re: How do manage portfolio efficiently while having a full time job? on: December 17, 2019, 07:59:50 AM
It's hard to buy and sell Bitcoin when you're doing a full-time job. The Bitcoin market is a live 24/7 market. A full-time employee should pay attention to his sleep patterns. It's not easy. I think it makes sense to make a long-term purchase and wait.
Totally agreed on that.
But only I'd add that you can hire some trader to do it instead of yourself, only if your crypto funds are really valuable for short trading.
32  Economy / Economics / Re: BEEN IN THIS GAME FOR 6 YEARS on: December 01, 2019, 11:05:08 AM
Education holds highest value in the life of a person. Without going to school, e wont have been able to even read out words. It is not possible to survive in this time by not educating oneself. Everyone must at least know the basics of reading and writing. Educational institutes not only provide us knowledge but also groom the personality of person and build discipline in him.
knowledge that will make us understand how to survive in our life. Is difficult to survive our self if we have no knowledge at all , meanwhile this world very cruel. We could be the victim from bad people or atleast we just be useless man without any knowledge. Today education give huge influence to our success story. By knowledge we will able to identify opportunity to earn money.
It is better if the education system that are we taking is in another level. What do I mean by that? The education system in our schools nowadays are poor education where they do not teach their students about money and financial literacy. We should educate our selves about it for us to have a knowledge for us to build wealth.
Hmmm, educational system should not be all around money and financial literacy. However I have to admit that current lack of this knowledge hits hard on these kids when they grow up. So after finishing school you have to make sure you understand how financial system works before you can even imagine yourself being successful.
