1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How tyrannical is Bitmit to sellers? on: March 31, 2012, 04:46:04 AM
I have yet to experience a dispute in a trade so I am not sure exactly what evidence they require, but I am positive they can't be worse than Ebay/Paypal Grin

freedom of choice and I choose to slowly kill myself  Cheesy .
also there is a demand for nicotine so in a profit driven world people will still manage to buy or grow. whether it's legal or illegal
3  Other / Politics & Society / Re: u sick bstrdz :) on: March 15, 2012, 12:14:10 AM
Psychiatry used to say that homosexuality was a mental illness.  In the Soviet Union they had some 'mental illness' diagnosis for people that didn't like communism and they involuntarily commited them.  This is the same field that was forcibly lobotomizing people with an ice pick through the eye socket and then jiggling it around to scramble a person's brains... and they thought this was a good idea.  This is the field that still subjects people to involuntary electro-shock 'therapy' (look it up - it's still going on).  Psychiatry is hopelessly evil.

"A disturbing piece was published in the Journal of Clinical
Psychiatry. In it is a study that claims people who are
anti-government or believe in conspiracies around the government are
suffering from a condition called Anti-Government Phobia (AGP).
Meaning that anyone who has a distaste for the government, the way it
operates, its polices and believes there is a particular force behind
it, must be mentally ill. The implications here are frightening, if
you feel the government is doing something that will harm you and that
it is a part of a bigger plan, you are sick. Thus the government can
respond as though you are a a threat.
This is what the study actually claims:
“This study conclusively demonstrates that unfounded fear of
government is a recognizable mental illness, closely related to
paranoid schizophrenia. Anti-Government Phobia (AGP) differs from most
mental illnesses, however, in that it is highly infectious and has an
acute onset. Symptoms include extreme suspiciousness,
conspiracy-mongering, delusional thought patterns, staunch “us against
them” mentality, withdrawal from reality, and often religious
fanaticism.”"

very true. it is disturbing how Psychiatry(in general not all cases) is going on this power trip since ww2 and yet nobody has yet to question there motives.for example there is some new bullshit called "ODD" or "Oppositional Defiant Disorder"(swear i am not making this shit up)which is just another way of saying i am a shitty parent and need drugs for my child so i don't have to deal with him. of course no one wants to be called a conspiracy nut, but it makes you wonder what they will do for profit.

6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What will you do when the gold rush ends? on: March 08, 2012, 08:10:21 PM
just a guess here but when you limit supply demand goes up so in theory once the count
goes down to 25 price should increase possibly up to 2x the current amount.
then again the market can be a strange thing.
7  Economy / Economics / Re: How big is Bitcoin's presence in China? on: March 07, 2012, 11:57:08 PM
Although gold would be better suited for this, but i have no idea what the laws on gold are in PRC.
Unfortunately they do not have that right either.

Even design copied almost 1-to-1 from Daily Bitcoins.

That is so unfair, obviously you haven't used the service. Are you afraid from some competition ?  Roll Eyes
I don't afraid any competition.
By the way, I run Daily Bitcoins as not for profit site and never withdrawn even 1 bitcoin from it's wallet.
I seriously doubt you run a not for profit website. If you did you would probably mention it somewhere like your "terms of service"
second of all your website looks very dull compared to the darker scheme set used on CoinAd .
also @ CoinAd my username is late443 just signed up looking for the free 500 views plz

11  Economy / Speculation / Re: I would supply my contact info to bitcoinica... on: March 04, 2012, 11:15:16 PM
Sorry OP. You lost me.

As a US citizen who needs to supply birth certificate, passport, criminal background check, etc just to get certain types of visas, green card or dual citizenship in South Korea, the idea of providing my personal information to another country in exchange for a privilege of a service or access to something is far from foreign.

I scan my retinas, my fingerprints, and my face everytime I leave this country and everytime I get into another. There is a method to the madness. For people who are busy creating, it's seen as a discomfort and inconvenience, nothing more.
I have never had to scan my retinas, fingerprints, or face when I leave the country.
and as far as personal information being collected, sometimes its for the best as long as the user is aware of it.

13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: After 21 million bitcoins have been mined... on: March 04, 2012, 04:59:52 AM
So you're saying transaction fees produce new blocks that we can mine? Also what are block rewards?

Whenever a Bitcoin transaction is made, it is broadcast to all nodes in the network.  All transactions since the previous block was solved are contained in the next block to be solved, and so all miners compete to be the first provide mathematical proof of work for the current block.

Let's say someone mines a block solo.  As we know, 50 BTC is generated with each solved block.  But let's say there was 1 transaction during that time containing a transaction fee of .005 BTC.  Then, that miner will receive 50.005 BTC.  Right now, the network is small and there are relatively few transactions, so the amount of transaction fees included in the block are small.

After all 21 million BTC have been generated, the 50 BTC will no longer be generated, but miners will still be rewarded with the transaction fees.  By this time, assuming that BTC is widely adopted, there will be many many times the number of transactions and thus the amount accumulate in transaction fees per block will be greatly increased.  It's possible that by this time, miners who solve a block solo will receive even more than 50 BTC, but they won't be new coins.  They will simply be existing coins that were included in the block in the form of transaction fees.
Thanks, finally an answer that makes sense.

Meh, real men use Wuala. They even accept Bitcoin payments, btw.

(sorry otherwise, already got a Dropbox account, even though I don't use it much)

Wuala is hardly better than Dropbox and it's not even getting close to Ubuntu One for that matter..
+1 for Ubuntu one. Seriously Dropbox was good in the beginning but i rarely use it anymore.
