481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: September 09, 2015, 10:17:43 AM
And yes, just like with Maxcoin, there are carelessness and stupidity of Startcoin miners as explained in post above but you people just go full retard and buy even more coins, they are very secure!
482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: September 09, 2015, 10:03:22 AM
Problem with Startcoin is that it is starting to remind me of Maxcoin where a lot was debated and promised but not much delivered. I'm reminded of that every time I start wallet and see "Build date: Jun 20 2104" which means that even though millions USD are in play "developers" could not find enough time to keep wallet updated to the latest Bitcoin code. Like all code added there in 1+ year is unimportant and Startcoin can do without it. Just wait until someone starts exploiting known but not patched vulnerabilities in current Startcoin wallet, "developers" panic adding code, messing something up and so on. Then you'll have a very good reason to dump at any price.

I was hoping you would then continue the conversation by explaining the 51% attack justification.

I'm sure you don't realize this, but once I 51% attack, with 51% of the hashrate I am getting all the blocks, hence doubling my reward. Of course there's always the possibility that I would cancel transactions as I please, should I chose to. So at that point, you would really have to have complete confidence in me.

With 51% hashrate you would be creating 51% blocks, not all, and you would be getting the same reward per block as everyone else, not double. And you can cancel transactions as much as you like but other 49% hashrate would be including them in blocks. Also, at certain point your mining would be very unprofitable with us buyers still buying more coins than you can mine so, all in all, STFU.

Not to my understanding. The majority (51%) decides, who gets and who don't. Or said with other words, 51% decide who is the lawful BURSTcoin blockchain. The entries in the 49% or less, will simple seen as bogus. With that said, the 49% or less mined Bursts would be not accepted, and so the 51% side will get ALL coins allocated for this time period (including the 49%).

You understanding is insuffiscient for us to continue with debate.

Delete all Bitcoin related registry keys (use search within regedit.exe located at Windows directory) and afterwards run BitcoinQt wallet then adjust it to your likings via Settings menu.

You obviously think that someone with a lot of money will go full retard and fill all your sell orders up to 1 XCR = 1 BTC and only then he will start promoting XCR, well not really. The whole cryptoscene is struggling and will continue struggling (and very likely never take off) because of one and only one reason and it is extremely greedy holders of most coins, regardless of what coin we speak of. Distribution of coins at whole cryptospace is horrible, much worse than distribution of wealth we have now in real world and it is so because a dozen of morons want to become billionaires overnight if possible. That won't work. The World but more importantly powers rulling it won't accept that. So the only real way is what Satoshi envisioned long ago and that is to spread coins to as many people as possible then laugh at top 1% when they end up owned by majority not giving a shit about top 1% wishes or demands. If all people on planet start using XCR what a rullers can really do, send everyone to prison or kill them, shut down Internet or mobile networks? Problem here is that morons don't understand any of it and laugh at Laszo buying 2 pizzas for 10k BTC five years ago, such a stupid guy, right?

Wisdom to the wise. Not many such people around here anymore, unfortunately.

Being a long time with Nxt I certainly know that distribution is very important. However, if this results in crashing the price, have 0 benefits, lose money long-term, let the whole project fail (...) than this is utterly nonsense. Roll Eyes

You have no other interests here but to eventualy become very rich and then rule if possible everyone else with stupidity of epic proportions. Exactly the deal that makes current rulers look like saints and exactly the reason why it won't ever happen.

With every XCR less the team would have less incentive to continue.

That's it, a mindless, short-term gains fucking idiots who turned this beautiful idea of cryptocoins into a job. Fuck you!

There is no need for 10 BTC daily trade volume but constant (at least once per hour) trades. Unless traders see constant trading they will not be investing into XCR, that should be clear by now. At this moment, with hundreds of coins out there, you have to pay a lot for promotion or you have to play dirty or both, anything else won't give you satisfying results.

An idea that developers holding onto a shitload of XCR and not having money for promotion is better than them having money for promotion and less coins where those coins are then in hands of someone who might start promoting coin possibly big time because he loaded up nice amount for cheap is hilarious, you and developers are obviously a bad market makers and traders.
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - Human Mining - Decentralized MMO and Crypto Game on: August 28, 2015, 11:03:59 AM
So how is it on block 850949 i was destruction on by a player with 0 coins says in the patch notes need min 20 hucs to destruction .. well i just died to someone with 0 huc they were carrying..

It does not say player's character must have 20+ HUC so I guess it is balance at player's wallet that matters. Any coins character holds are still not cashed out, they can't be used on blockchain.

Thanks for status report.

Will marketing work start of with official 0.5.0 release ?

The big parts yes. We do marketing already now. We have about 2 meetings a week with some journalists, but it didn't lead to anything yet. We don't have the funds to pay CoinDesk $3000 or CoinTelegraph $2200. (These are offers they made us for ads and campaigns)

We currently inform ourselves about target ads on twitter, reddit and facebook.

50ct, please join our slack channel. I really want to talk with you about marketing, I'm really sure that you can help us tremendously here. Smiley

There should be funds for Marketing, once price increases the foundation may sell some of the coins to have more budget. If there are no funds for marketing Crypti might be in for a rough ride, innovation alone can get us somewhere but if people dont know what is being done then what's the point? It has been said throughout this forum that marketing will begin with a finish product. IMO, marketing should begin before the product is released as to build anticipation towards the product. That's just my two satoshis anyways.

The market is too thin for selling XCR to raise money that way.  BUYS available on Polo are 2.6 BTC.  That would drop the price to the 800s.  Even selling to every single BUY order, would get us 6 BTC and a 1 satoshi price.

Dumping to buy orders is still the only right way. Developers even take some profit (as far as I can recall they bought many coins under 800 Satoshi), buyers get some coins and market starts to move a bit. Way better deal than no trades until someone ends up lured into filling sell orders. By now, developers could create a trading bot and make it generate at least some trade volume constantly, looking at lack of XCR trading with sellers' insisting on higher than IPO price makes me not invest any more money into this coin.

Crypti Lite wallet lacks any notification on received transaction, can that be added to it? Also it would be useful to have "Hide empty blocks" option at Blockchain menu so we don't have to use online blockchain explorer to quicky check recent transactions.

My advice is to completely ignore lack of cryptocommunity interest and continue supporting this coin by mining or buying it. No one really gives a damn about PR releases anymore. On top of that it is still summer and people are generaly uninterested in investing in anything except stupid ETH (they'll regret it later, of course). And there are just too many coins so unless you've made a deal with Facebook or some other major company no one will really care.

Bought 0.05 BTC worth today and put some buy orders at lower prices, to keep me interested in this coin. I've found some info about it at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1153740.0 but please check if all data listed there is correct. I reed somewhere Burst is based on NXT so how closely it is following NXT development and code?

498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: August 17, 2015, 09:20:47 PM
what was the presale/IPO price of ETH?

Roughly 50,000 Satoshi so yes, current price is a bit too high. There was no good reason to pump it to 880,000 at Poloniex, it was just a whale or two causing histeria to get people's attention. It worked but even 10,000+ BTC daily volume can not keep everyone interested for long so I predict further price and trade volume declines. Trade volume might go up not because of pump but dump.
499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The 2.0 throwdown thread on: August 17, 2015, 09:12:19 PM
it has unique feature which is Avatars, user can assign an image to his account.

I proposed an additional category. Many 2.0 platform has unique features, such as this one. The feature that are unique to each blockchain could be put in a list with a category name "Additional unique core features" or something like that. Doing so would take less space in the chart.

For example, Nxt also has the core feature Monetary system, which I believe is unique to Nxt.
http://nxt.org/about/monetary-system/

Yes, that would help even more. Even if someone is full-time into cryptos there is so much going on it is hard to follow everything so a complete comparison table would be kickass.

If you want to go into details about each team, fine, I just wanted to explain why anonymity should not be taken as a negative point. Actually, of the currently active Nxt developers I am the only one that is anonymous, see AUTHORS.txt for the full list: https://bitbucket.org/JeanLucPicard/nxt/src/369546f91ba32142562c18d224369ea64a3f0720/AUTHORS.txt?at=master

And if we start comparing developers' credentials, I did get my PhD from one of the top universities in my field (which is not computer science though), more than 15 years ago.

Let's not forget Satoshi Nakamoto is still anon, not much negative effect on Bitcoin, right? I prefer anon devs over known ones, later ones are too easy targets and that is not good at cryptospace. Just wait until cryptos eventualy become the real deal (mass adoption), I can already see most known developers being kidnaped or blackmailed on a weekly basis.
500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The 2.0 throwdown thread on: August 17, 2015, 08:51:33 PM
Crypti (XCR) transaction cost is 0.1% and it has unique feature which is Avatars, user can assign an image to his account.

BTW, this is very useful thread. I've never found enough time to check all those coins myself so big thanks!
