41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Idea: Bitcoin Mining with a Twist - Combine Donations + Mining Payouts on: July 21, 2012, 03:29:38 PM
Since I do not have the resources to perform this idea I'm going to share it with the community in hope that someone will bring the idea to fruition.

So, we are well aware of websites which ask for donations and in turn you receive something which is of value. One idea is private torrent websites which advertise VIP status or higher bandwidth rates.

So my idea is a hybrid between pyramining + a strong API and IPN which allows instant creation of accounts and communication with external websites.

How will this benefit users:

1. Users who donate to site X are getting a return on investment, which means they are getting value for free!
2. It helps the website because the ROI constantly increases based on how many, and how large deposits are.

Im sure any mining operation can do this since they already have the equipment required.

What do you all think?

Now you are currently making 1% on all interest,
Learn to math

Maybe he was referring to how payb.tc keeps 0.1% of the 7% interest.

0.1 is 1.43% of 7.0

ie. payb.tc keeps 1.43% of the interest.

That doesn't make sense though... his statement was 1% on all interest.
Yea what i ment to say was 0.1% sorry for the confusion.

A feature request please.

On the following page: http://pyramining.com/account/referrals

Will we be able to see the account label attached to the referral link. This is useful if we plan to perform certain actions with referrers and need a way to verify account label to referer link.

Thanks

easy : they don´t speak english Wink Cool

want me to do the german, french or portuguese part? Cool

I'm not sure if that is a reference to my suggestion, though this can be done simply with a language switcher.

To payb.tc:

Since BitcoinMax offers such high interest rates, if anybody is thinking about taking the risk to invest with Pirate it would be through you. Now you are currently making 1% on all interest, if accounts continue to grow the job to send out x amount of payments could become a tedious task. So what i propose is to allow the creation of sub-accounts when accounts hold e.g. minimum 100 BTC.

The owner of the account will be able to create sub accounts (which will generate their own private deposit address. I noticed you mentioned you wanted to create a signup form so i assume it will generate an address at the same time). Owner of master account will be able to set an account label and interest rate for a specific sub account. Since payments aren't automated (that's a good thing) The listed interest rate will be an easy way for the owner to see how much interest has been accrued in the week.

This will eventually allow you to close deposits of smaller amounts e.g. less then 100 BTC. So you will only need to pay out to the Master Accounts.

With a Master Account an API would be great too. So we will be able to set up our own portals to pull data.

Now all of these ideas i guess are only really useful if you feel that the number of accounts are becoming to large. It may have been the reason why Pirate went down this route.

the current to-do list in order of priority:

- force redirect to https done
- withdrawal request form in login area
- new account sign up form
- contact form in login area
- detection of new (and unconfirmed) deposits without re-logging in.

anything else?

Sub Accounts. So we can do a pass through from you =p

47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Personal contribution of 5,000 BTC to affected Bitcoinica customers on: July 13, 2012, 04:09:37 PM
Whilst noble, I still don't trust anyone here who claims to perform good deeds or seek pity. For all we know, that 5,000 BTC could be a small piece of the pie from the heist. Nothing ads up whenever a hack occurs, too many weird coincidences and actions performed / not performed by people who are involved in these websites. I mean we aren't taking about a couple of coupons or pennies here. These hacks amounts into the millions of dollars!

I can't understand how precautions are not taken to secure funds properly, and because they aren't secured the only thing that i keep concluding to myself is a scam. By a single or many individual.

Again im sorry to hijack your thread Zou, but it just angers me to see this happen constantly to the bitcoin economy.

Hey payb.tc,

Ever thought coding up a new section allowing users to create Pass Through's from BitcoinMax. It will be a double pass through lol. I might help you out with all the processing time it takes to manage accounts? Or is this not possible?

If it isn't an issue then thats cool.

52  Other / Beginners & Help / My transaction got approved in < 10 minutes on: June 18, 2012, 10:09:35 PM
I always assumed that it takes a solid hour for transactions to move from point a to point b with 6 confirmations.

It only took 10 minutes today? And whats even more crazy is that there has been 7 blocks found in the space of 10 minutes?

Whats going on? or is blockchain.info lying?
53  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: http://www.pyramining.com/ - Mining Company on: June 06, 2012, 12:56:06 PM
Only reason i ask is because if i understand correctly. The moment my account becomes complete I don't get paid for my bitcoin anymore? And the way it becomes complete is when i breakeven? So technically am i actually making money or am i just making the money back which i deposited?

I thought it was explained pretty well in the FAQ, probably I need to spend some more time in adding more explanations.

There can be 3 cases:

1) You create an account without any sponsor.
You will receive the amount of bitcoins invested PLUS 5%, and then it stops. If you invest 100, you will receive 104,475 (+5% bonus, -0,5% transactions management fee)

2) You create an account through a sponsor (using a referral link).
You will receive the amount of bitcoins invested PLUS 10%, and then it stops. If you invest 100, you will receive 109,45 (+10% bonus, -0,5% transactions management fee)

3) You do some activity to find referrals, and someone joins using you as their sponsor.
You start with the bonus like in points 1) or 2). Everytime someone joins using you as sponsors and deposits any amount, your bonus will increase. The exact increase can be calculated with: ((sum of referral deposits / your deposit) / 10) ).

In the third case, reward can be also very high (there are members who doubled, tripled or even much more their investment, if you ask here probably someone could tell you directly about their experience), so this could be the most interesting way to use Pyramining. It's not easy to find potential members, but if you can, you get rewarded pretty well.

In all cases you will receive your investment back PLUS some earnings that depend on the way you joined/used Pyramining.

Accounts don't mine forever because FPGA units working at these rates wear out in about 2 years. I studied this business plan in order to be able to keep always efficient hardware at work so every member will get their expected results.
However the infrastructure is not removed from Pyramining unless it breaks up. This allows fast investment returns even to future users who will join with increased mining difficulty and halved block bounty.

Hope it's clear enough now. If you have any other question, just ask.
Thank you very much! Smiley

I will use this for future questions as I had some people interested in investing though they couldn't grasp it 100%.

We can call that reply pyramining for dummies! Smiley

Is it possible to withdraw funds?

It's not possible because I use them to order/buy new hardware. Should you have any issue, write me a PM to discuss about it.
Only reason i ask is because if i understand correctly. The moment my account becomes complete I don't get paid for my bitcoin anymore? And the way it becomes complete is when i breakeven? So technically am i actually making money or am i just making the money back which i deposited?

If the account continues to mine forever then I don't have any gripes against not being able to deposit (for now) but if it stops mining when i break even then there is not real point in investing. Surely it isn't like this though. If you could spare a minute or two to explain to me how this works I'd greatly appreciate it, im slightly hesitant to start throwing money at this.

Im sure it would help others too.

How often are mining profits added to an account?

Also I don't quite understand how the completion of rewards work? So once i get all my deposit back, my account gets closed? Im really confused with that.

Sounds great. So I can set up a product to be priced in USD, will the customer purchase the item in USD? If so how? Is there credit card processing or a bank transfer page?

To protect my BTC wallet, I encrypt, backup then put it on a usb drive, unplug then delete the wallet from the bitcoin folder.

kind regards
Does this need to happen everytime you recieve or are expecting to receive funds? Or does the backup only need to be created once, (when you are happy with the btc addresses you have) just incase malware effects your pc and destroys the private keys?
Once in the beginning (after creating your wallet), and then every time you send bitcoins. This will internally create new private addresses (well, depends on client, but the default Bitcoin-Qt clients does).

Thank you. Smiley
